My read-- Kiki is not nervous. Elton is being a touchy macho. Kiki is a pro, spot-on with the vocals (although it's like a playback situation...right?). David captures the awkwardness of the it's-the-70s-and-we-are-unclear-what-music-videos-are vibe, which you can see all over Kiki, sometimes looking at the camera too obviously, sometimes not. Elton is more experienced and hammy, and he's also being very macho and invading Kiki's space. She's literally grinning and bearing it. David is acting honestly, not parodying womanhood. He gets the awkwardness nuance with his forced-casual moves, the weirdness of just one, too-low microphone.
the only thing i can add to this is the possibly "why" of Elton's "macho". pretty sure he was closeted back then and trying too hard to come off as straight here. but WOW you could belive thats actually Elton there the way ricky pulled it off.

I watched the real music video after this one and I think he might be trying to portray Kiki Dee as accurately as possible- one thing is he looks uncomfortable like she did, but he’s also making all of the exact same gestures. It’s great that he puts so much effort into any performance that he does

He literally does a lot of the exact same gestures as Kiki Dee, and she looked hella uncomfortable in the original, too (at least that’s how I saw her.) So, maybe it’s a bit of both? But yeah, we simply don’t know. And anyway, this whole parody was created for a spot of fun, so what does it matter, really?

Elton is just that exentring strange men he is. and i guess back in the time it wasn't that clear he is gay. Kiki just dosen't look that happy. maybe she had a bad day or so. I think primarily he's trying to act like Kiki Dee, but also David has mention in interview that singing onstage makes him anxious because you can't miss your cue by even a beat, so maybe that's part of what we are seeing.
