Great work. Tempted to it myself next year
Great ride, thanks for the Komoot file, going to give this one a go.
Route on Komoot www.komoot.com/tour/1478423375
added to my komoot :)
Thanks for sharing.
👍
Nice riding.
Enjoyed this video debs xx
isn't the rule not to stop when you hear/smell sealant? it's supposed to roll to seal doesn't it?
ive been trying to find a good wessex ridgeway video for ages ..yours is fabulous ...beware the cows ...ive been attacked by them twice now ..very scary
The way they all look at you. You can tell they are plotting your demise...
i see you went over hambledon hill in Dorset ..i know live near there ..its one on my fav places ... gonna try some of your route out as ive just got the komoot world map ..would like to see you gear set up and a bit about your bike ...
I think I'm gonna make a learnings video for this trip and I'll include some stuff about the bike setup in there if I ever get around to it!
was 10 hours total time or riding time?
Great Video's Darren. Now Subscribe. 👍
strange seeing it on camera, i was riding the same area on the same day as you, beautiful
I abused my tramadol script for long trips , sleep and tiredness no problem at all . Luckily physio means i no longer need them but long distances are soooo much harder now . Well ty for a window to your adventure .
I always like to think if you did your best be happy, and store the challenge away for another time.
if you have a knife you can make a bite mount for the gopro out of a twig
Sorlls-bree
You're vertigo is very smart not allowing you to go any closer to the edge at Beachy Head. People seem to have no idea how fragile it is and how often large sections drop off without warning as you can't see the cracks beneath from the top! Good ride. :)
Hi Darren, It looks pretty good and could you please share the route you travelled and I'd be interested in riding the same. May be strava or GPX files would be useful
Hey, it's on Komoot www.komoot.com/collection/2740512/-london-to-lands-end-v1
@@WeekesWheels - Thank you. We'll defo try the route and it looks lovely and watching other part of the series 🥰🥰
Mate, i felt for you there...& that puddle at the end - what a fucker lol
Yeah. The final nail in the coffin haha :) Dorset is absolutely brutal to offroad cycle through. So remote and unrideable most of the time. Definitely will keep that in mind for future attempts!
I'm OK with North/South but usually have to stop and think about East/West. Nice to find somebody else who doesn't know his West from his East. 😀 N.B. I think I would have given London a miss as well.
Ridgeway my old favorite when i lived near there . Great stuff .
Do you wear cycle pants? , my first foray into long distance bridleway cycling was sore as f ass ! even though i thought i was a seasoned cyclist . Some bridleways as opposed to `cycle `routes can be pretty rough when overgrown if ill used . Mind you some cycle ways can get overrun with brambles in no time . Great kit you have . Good luck in your ongoing adventure .
I have a few different types of Endura MTB shorts. They are not padded and things did used to hurt but over time just got used to it. A healthy balance of sitting/standing on the bike helps me a lot also!
I wish I could fly there on nice days
Good stuff Darren. Thank you.
I'd have taken the train to Windsor & Eton Riverside & started from there - cut out the unappealing cycle through London
Will probably do that next time. 1st day was a bit meh!
Lands end to John o groats on a mtb your mad.
yes
For gods sake get a road bike and the proper apparel.
no
Pain is on him
Love the music in the beginning ☀️. And good commentary, well done 👍

Route Map www.komoot.com/tour/1381252125
That ride looked a lot of fun. 100+km though 😮. I max out around 80km and feel I have had enough
Yeah my legs were cooked at around 80k. had to dig deep to get back home!
Surrey hills always good always tiring- another great ride 👍
The most excellent of journey's! Thanks for sharing the adventure!
So uh, what were the skies like when you were young?
Great video enjoyed that. UA-cam threw up your channel for me will sub. I have ridden alot of that route you took. Looked like you crashed quite hard. You said your 41 Yr old body didn't like it lol well I'm still recovering from a crash 5 months ago that dislocated my shoulder tearing the tendons and ligaments. My 55 Yr old body said OK thats it no more the injuries over the years have mounted up to the point where I have now become a leisure rider instead of shreading it is what it is looking to do this ride in the summer but I won't be flying down the descents but will be enjoying myself none the less. Hope you have recovered from the off 😁
Jesus is King
Would recommend UA-cam shorts for growth
Nice trek! What kit did you have on you otw there? What bike did ya use and have you got any route maps?
Thanks! 2x big water bottles. 2 chicken mayo rolls + some protein bars and snickers bars. Was pretty happy with how nutrition worked out. Bike is a steel Stanton Sherpa with 2.4" xc/trail tyres. Route map can be found on my Komoot www.komoot.com/tour/1472170189
Ah pants. Should have studied the map harder!
Just to be a bit picky Hawley comes under Dartford BC not Greater London.
Steel is definitely real, My mates Staney Slackline, 632 Reynolds flies. As does my old 531. You might consider ditching the front forks for a rigid lighter option. It'll fly. Enjoy ✊ <Edit> I grew up near Silverstone, do you have a Komoot of the route? Be interesting to see how you route plan.
That's a great route. What's the bike?
Stanton Sherpa
Brilliant have you got the route you could share pls I live local to Orpington would like to do this route cheers 👍
www.komoot.com/tour/1430878993?ref=aso&share_token=ahw9UOqq8BBG2scgRI0YPqqtxLhMMtNzCgPhaaaUdAI2bbsUHW I changed the start to Orpington. Enjoy
Sweet video you're ripping! Keep the videos coming :)
It was a great day
Fair bit of road. What front tyre are you using? My dhf 2 is rubbish on roads
Most of the road is just getting out of Greater London. It is vast majority offroad. I have an Assegai front and dissector rear. Not very good on road either :)
Did you track it on strava or komoot? Would like to see what its like
It's on my strava. Link in channel info
Recently came across your videos really enjoyed your adventures. Looking forward to the next ones! 👍
Well done i'm thinking of doing it next year. How long did it take you?
Hi Craig. About 10 hours. Very casual pace!
Do recall the quickest times.
Great video 👍
