    So I have this problem of waking up at about 3:00 am each morning. so what time of the day do I hit the 10,000 lux light source and for how long . would you suggest maybe 4:00 pm for 30 minutes. If I do it in the evening it bugs my sleep . Huberman said go to bed earlier which I have been doing and it helps . But still this early morning waking ticks me off.

      Awe, thanks! That makes sense as when your sleep deprived your hunger hormones change/. The hormone that tells you that you are hungry, gherlin, increases and the hormone that tells you that you are full, leptin, decreases. Your body then wants quick energy in the way of refined carbs.

    • @KellyMurrayAdultSleepCoaching
      @KellyMurrayAdultSleepCoaching Рік тому

      Yes, I love progesterone cream. There is a lot of controversy around when is the best time to use the creams. Some say it’s best to take beginning the with the 8th day of the cycle until the next menstruation. And stop using the cream when your period is supposed to begin . Others say starting on the 12th day of your cycle through day 25. I would consult your doctor to find what’s best for you.

    Hi, my sleep cycle is off by 8 hours (i have been diagnozed with DSPD 10 years ago after lifelong sleep problems). I am going to start a dayjob in about a month. Would you suggest “shocking” my body into my objective sleep rhythm ( which is most probably going to mean not sleeping at all the first day) and the next days just couple hours per day. Or gradually moving the schedule back by 30 minutes at a time?

    • @kellymurrayadultsleepprivate
      @kellymurrayadultsleepprivate Рік тому

      HI there! Sorry to hear that you are struggling. You could use either strategy. I would need to know more about your situation to give a recommendation. For example, if you have depression, the latter is not recommended. Ideally, you would be working with a trained professional to shift your rhythm. I hope that helps!

    • @fuzzylogics139

      Well, thank you for your reply. No, I'm not depressed. Anxious more often than your average person, probably. So for this I use HRV Breathing, Yoga Nidra and other techniques that help. First, I try myself :) @@kellymurrayadultsleepprivate I have already started pushing the clock back 30 minutes at a time. And use a "happy-light" shortly after I wake up. Doesn't matter what I eat during the day, I finish dinner by 5 pm and begin that overnight fast. Of course by 1 am, it's been 8 hours since I've eaten and hunger wakes me up, sweating and worrying about all sorts of things. It's the anxiety at 1 am that gets me. Started drinking a protein shake about 8 pm and that seems to hold me overnight. If I wake up, it's easy to return to sleep.
