That movie is insane, look at all these extras, no CGI ! Colors are wonderful, the fights are epic and the song when Lady Yae's troop reminds me about the song "still alive" from mirror's edge. I was looking for the DVD for I think 10-15 years and my waiting was rewarded. One of my favourite samuraï movies with Kagemusha and Mibu Gishi Den.

呆気ない幕切れ

This scene shows the stupidity of the people and their habit of locking themselves into opinions. Lady Yae is discriminated by the males of the two opposing clans. It's interesting because it's only the Daimyo: Kenshin who respect Lady Yae as a Samurai regardless of gender ! Opinions, stereotypes, all that goes beyond diplomacy and politics! It's not just a leader who should be blamed, but we are all responsible!

It's wonderful how the Takeda's vassal insults Kagetora showering him with compliments.

Yo girl rides up like a boss, calls out any man to a duel, they think she is a joke, but no one steps up, instead they shoot like the coward dogs they were. Say goodbye to honor huh.

its not because of revenge, Kagetora shot her because she cross the boundary line (the river). you can see Kagetora take that gun when lady Yae is at the river. Lady Yae know that her action will claim her life but she determine to do it anyways in the hope that the battle will begin.

この映画を観るまで、”黒”という色が、これ程美しいものだとは思わなかった。 もちろん、"赤"もだ。 その、美しい色彩のコントラストの向こう側に「日本人」の魂を揺さぶる、香り、、、の様なものが漂い流れてくるようだ。 美しい。

my father has a reproduction Arquebus in his collection and the accuracy of that smoothbore firearm is a little too accurate in films i seen. my husband is also a collector and i can only say this scene is maybe sheer luck

I just want to point out that this film takes place in the period 1450-1550, and the lady and her retainers are armored as if it were 1250. She is a real poseur.

最後に、敵の武勲を称賛するくだり、日本人独自の感覚ですね。 海外の人には少し理解し難いかも知れません。

He showed her honor and mercy in this kill by shooting her on her respective line of the battlefield instead of claiming her head which the Takeda would die to claim back which would just result in complete bloodshed, she will be honored as dying on the field of battle nonetheless without an enemy claiming her head. In the end it was honorable Kegatora brought himself and Lady Yae true honor instead of killing out of pure vengeance and greed. This is the way of Bushido. Which resulted in saving lives.

Looking through the comments are hilarious. They suck at Japanese and are fucking weebs. Meanwhile , my family actually went into combat multiple times against these humans. We fought them as Spain/Portugal...and then again as TRUE AMERICANS. I hate the weebs.

In the samurai warrior 🇯🇵 days, female samurai warriors wasn't worthy to be called a samurai but yet she's actually called a warrior. Only male samurai warriors were actually worthy to be called a samurai. She can actually dress up like a samurai warrior, carry 2 samurai swords, ranks, and also have a samurai warrior armor. And still she's actually called a warrior 🇯🇵 not a samurai.

Poor girl. Should've been challenged in bed instead of being shot in an unfair fight. At least she could have survived and lived a longer happy life if she was in bed hehe :D ))
