Just another Minnesota girl sharing her love for plants!
I went to college in North Dakota, and in 2017 I was sick and tired of the cold, dreary weather. It was then that I decided to bring some greenery inside and boost my seratonin with plants! Now I'm back in MN as a full-time Graphic Designer & Plant Mom.
The name Planted Personalities came to me back in May of 2020 when I really dove into tropical houseplants and realized they all have minds of their own. Subscribe to follow along on my midwest plant journey! You can also find me on Instagram at @plantedpersonalities (:

Florida Bonsai Shop Tour | Beautiful Bonsai Trees | Zen Garden
I agree the monkey tail cactus is awesome I. Getting 1 this week found 1 locally right in my town❤
My Pachira aquatica is braided and has large leaves. It is growing beautifully and I love how it looks. I totally agree with you about hoyas misbehaving! I am definitely someone who cuts and tosses, since I don't want duplicates and there are no local plant swaps. And I don't want to sell (none of my friends are into plants unfortunately). My Manjula and Ring of Fire (got mine as a small plant for $14.99 so they are dropping in price) are a couple of my favorite plants in my collection of just over 100 plants. Down from the 250+ that I had during the pandemic!
Great video! Be careful with Bladderwrack, read a lot about it cause it can also be dangerous if not used correctly.
I just commented on another video, and I want to confirm, YALL ARE GETTING ROBBED OUT THERE. Again, US expat in Belgium, just looked for a monstera skeleton and they are 10€ (≈11$) and less for the size of the one you showed for 50$. The variegated monstera in 80€ here, so I guess it’s all about what’s rare to any continent, but those prices seem out of control. All those 200+ prices. I’ve yet to see similar prices here.
Price points in the us seam crazy! How much is a regular billietiae there? I’m an expat in Belgium, btw. I just got a regular billietiae for 10€ at a big box store called Intratuin. It has 10 leaves and 2 on the way.
Stunninggg!! Walmart did their big one with those Thais! Wow!
Are there bugs in the roots . They also like humidity and to be moist so I grow albo plants in pon.
I have to say those leaves with all the mint coloring are amazing!!! I hope that I can find one❤
Wow wow 😯
Get a flight to Finland. We wiĺl treat u well ❤❤❤
When you choose to give away or sell some plants please make a video of your choices and why, would be fun to watch
Your florida beauty is amazing ❤
Hope you find your spark back ❤
I love slow growing plants as they fit perfectly on my shelf which only has a 12 foot height. All plants are special and need different attention. I don't ever get rid of plants as a true plant lover loves all types
They DO grow fast.
Love 💗
I’m in Atlanta is anyone know if Walmart in our area has those please comment.
They are gorgeous babies!! I already have two and they are both relatively good DNA. One of them is a small baby. However, I went to my second local Bunnings here in Australia and I saw one Monstera Deliciosa Thai constellation that was a little unhappy, the newest slave was broken off and one of the patio is almost broken off. $65 from $99 ❤. My favourite rehab so far!
Of course the coolest shop ive seen in my state would be on the opposite side of the state sigh.. now i gotta drive 5 hours this weekend love the vid thanks for showing the shop never would have know it was there otherwise
Your cats don't try to eat the Aglaonema? I know a lot of plants are slightly toxic but I thought that one was more so... my cats eat all my plants so I have to be careful.
We are building a Thai Con Army! My bf ran to Walmart for me when the call came. I had to be at work in 5 minutes and knew they'd bed gone by the time I'd be off. He went with specific instructions to look for stem vargation. He came back with two because he also fell in love with an older more established plant with lots of fenestrations. I wasn't mad for a beautiful specimen of each!! $39.99 @ at our Walmart in Kenosha, WI. Sold out in an hour. Didn't know we had so many planty people around here. I need to be better at connecting to my local community.
How much you paid by your state, NYC selling for $80. Well still cheaper than other place, for the same size :)
I also got two for the price of one because the clerk didn’t listen correctly when I said I had three more in the cart. Got two for friends. Love love love them so much!
I’m gagged, gooped, and GAPED Mawma 😩😭 you really spilled with this reveal!! those are the best I’ve seen! You got lucky! I got two from my Walmart last week and both boxes (I got first pick hehe) and none of them had that much cream splash. One of mine has like 80% of yours same variegation, but the rest were pretty much just speckling. 😢
Thanks for the info ❣️🪴🙌
Do you NEED to put the moss pole inside the pot? I was thinking about putting a bamboo stick into mine and then starting the pole up above the soil... But idk if that will work
I’ve done that with a bamboo stick, but I find that it’s unstable! Especially once the plant grows and sizes up on the pole it then isn’t supportive. I choose to put it inside the pot to anchor it in.
I would love to see how and where you grow your herb seeds. I’m fascinated by that sort of thing. Will you grow them indoors? Thanks!
You have two beautiful plants. Can you do a plant tour? Thanks for sharing💚
Thank you so much! 💚 I have a couple plant tours on my channel page from not too long ago ☺️🫶🏻 but be prepared they’re longggg haha.
What an amazing find!! I’m in California and our Walmarts and big box store do not get anything! Well unless you love ivy and ferns 🤣😐
Wow those are beautiful! I would have jumped out of bed too 😆 if anyone in ca knows if and when they are coming here, (specifically so cal, ie) let a girl know pls!
Thank you!! 💚 Keep your eye out I’m seeing them pop up all over 🤗
😮❤
A.Luxurians dont need to be in the cabinet, they dont need high humidity.
Nice shelf ❤
Thank you! 💚
Omg I love Down to Earth!
It’s amazing!!
Love the video!! I love my Hoya burt but the veriagated one is now on my wishlist. Also how if the huge melanochrysum doing??
Definitely get one some day ☺️it’s pretty. And it’s doing well! Needs a spray down but it put out a new leaf 🙌🏻
Yayyy!!
$350 is a lot but I feel like it’s a pretty good price for a large melano
I know right! I hesitate to spend that much now but it was definitely worth it
Your Scindapsus is beautifull ❤
Thank you! 💚
Love your vibe in your video 🎉
Aw thank you so much! 🥰
Omg which plant dont you have ? 😂 beauutifull collection! Love your channel, new subscriber ✌🏼 from Québec
Haha I know it's crazy! 😂 Thank you! Welcome to my channel! 😊
I need help with my philodendron patriciae 😞 I currently have it in water trying to save it! Can you do a care video on it ?
Aw I'm so sorry to hear that! 😥 If you want to send me a DM on instagram @plantedpersonalities maybe I can help! I would do a care video but I don't do much honestly, just water once a week if it needs it and have it near a bright window. Maybe if you show me yours we can troubleshoot it.
the cacti are etoliated
That’s what someone was saying! Good to know lol hopefully they will survive
dont know how you do it, i get overwhelmed very easily and i like mine styled and fresh feeling
Honestly I get overwhelmed too. Mainly because I also try to take on a million other non-planty things too. But I also love living in a jungle and don’t know if I’d have it any other way. I’m sure someday I’ll cut down more as life goes on!
Where did you get the cube shelf thingys you have hung on the walls?! Love the updates 🌿🤗 happy spring!
Sorry for the late response! They're from Modern Sprout 🥰 I have an affiliate link for them: modernsprout.com/PLANTEDPERSONALITIES and you can use the code PLANTEDPERSONALITIES to get 10% your order! 💚 Happy Spring! 🤗
I forgot to reply on your last video about aglaonema, sorry. I’ve gotten my more uncommon ones from the green escape on Etsy, their small starter plants so I can’t wait for them to mature. I just recently got the black maroon, red stardust and the lotus delight. Loved seeing your updates.
Those are pretty!! I’ll have to add them to my list ☺️ thank you!
The growth pattern that you are seeing there on your cacti is called "etiolation," caused by a lack of adequate light.
Which one? The variegated one or green one? They’ve both been in south windows , I feel like light isn’t an issue 🤔 but maybe! I’ve never had any of them grow much except when outside for the summer. Cacti aren’t my strong suit.
I have about 600 of them 😅 The problem is that if they grow in the winter, they etiolate, no matter what window you put them in, unless you're located somewhere pretty close to the equator. Light intensity and day length are too short for them to achieve healthy growth during this time. To stop them from going all lanky, ugly and nippely (which is irreversible), they need a cool spot between 30-60 degrees F from November till Feb/March and ABSOLUTELY NOT A DROP OF WATER. They don`t even need much light during this time - I keep mine in a dingy basement. They don't mind this, as long as the rootball is bone dry (if it isn`t you'll get root rot). Other types of succulents like echeverias, and euphorbias, however, do need light. Euphorbias need it a little warmer, too. @@PlantedPersonalities
Beautiful choices, love them all! Alglaonema is one one my favorites and easy care!
Thank you!! That’s awesome we need more aglaonema lovers 🤗
I love the way the mayoii is reaching to the c window, prime example of what plants do to live.
For sure 🙌🏻 they’re so smart
I love the reg. Monstera its beautiful. You have a lovely collection. Thank you for sharing it I love your videos and spending timecwith you.Take care and god bless your family.
I do too! I hope mine gets mature sometime or I get a massive one some day. Thank you so much that means a lot to me! You as well 🙌🏻
Thanks for keeping me company as I did my plant chores this morning! Your plant room is actually DREAMY 💚
Aw thank you!! Of course! 💚
Your plants are stunning. Thanks for sharing .💚
Thank you so much!
