Hi, Iam a veterinary anaesthetist. Ifor the use in veterinary medicine I would say that you ca use in companion animals (manly dog and cat) or, if you prefer, small animal. For large animal are meant cattle, horses... we cannot use this system in those animals where it is necessary using a circle with the 50 mm circuit. I would say that the ADE is advantageous in using in small animal practice as you can use it as only one system as we usually divide the patient 1-5kg from the >5kg .
Thanks man 🤍
Very concise explanation 👌 great video
Thanks
Thank u so much. You’re such a blessing
thanks
Not used for large animals in the veterinary world. At most large dogs, but even then it would be rare to see an ADE these days.
Please answer my questions, How many gases are used in Brachy OT and Dialysis ward? Isolation valve placed where on the floor? How we calculate terminals with probe? Where AVSU is placed with area alarm?
Good video
Thanks for the visit. Your work is ace!
NICE ONE
Thanks for watching
At the end of presentation did you mean Laplace's law instead of Beer Lambert's law in context of reservoir bag to prevent barotrauma?
Good spot Payal, that seems a reasonable conclusion. Apologies for error! Thanks for comment!
I like her smile, When an awkward question is thrown at her. Hope I learn to smile in that Tense exam.
Thanks Amardeep
Regarding the plenum vaporiser dial, when I turn it to 1%, what does this actually mean? Does that mean that there is 1% volatile coming out of the vaporiser before it rejoins the FGF or is it 1% of FGF? TIA
The aim is to achieve the desired percentage to be a total of the fresh gas flow. So for example at atmospheric pressure we would aim for around 1.7% sevoflurane to achieve a MAC of 1. This article may be helpful: www.frca.co.uk/Documents/171%20Vapourisation%20and%20vapourisers.pdf
Super informative and intersting, espescially that welsh accent(sounds like it)

Glad you think so! Not many people would agree!
This didn't make me feel any better, I already have sleep apnea if I go under this I'm afraid i wont wake up
Unfortunately these videos are aimed at medical professionals and so aren't able to offer advice to individuals. I hope you have been able to get some advice from your local medical practitioner. Best of luck to you.
If you sleep apnea at home what do you have to monitor your breathing, open your airway and supply oxygen to you when you are not breathing? The answer is nothing other than your body or an alert partner waking you up! During anesthesia you are monitored for how much oxygen you breath in and how much c02 you breath out. you are supplied with high levels of oxygen and you have at least 2 highly trained staff to tilt your head and open your airway and or use a oropharyngeal airway, supraglottic airway ot indeed intubate with an endotracheal tube. We've got you ;)
thank you for delivering the info clearly,
Glad it was helpful!
Fantastic

We are looking to building some of these and testing them before we need them in a semi-remote community off-grid. Thank you for a good tutorial..

@@kevincollon4783 Kevin... I have run the prototype past a doctor from Vancouver, who took a quickie video and sent it to a colleague in England. Today a camera man spent several hours here and is doing a short video tonight. When you guys hear ventilator you hear intubation. This rig is a Breathing Assist Machine (BAM). It has variable volume, frequency, and pressure application is gentle. The exhaled air is bubbled through a sterilizing solution before being discharged, preferably outside the room. This BAM was built on 2 sawhorses in my kitchen over the last 10 days, from parts readily available, and can be duplicated by anyone with basic woodworking and mechanical skills. Once the air leaves the bellows it goes through a pre-filter, then a UV chamber, then a HEPA filter before entering the mask. The mask is made from a 2 litre plastic soft drink bottle, the respiratory air coming in on one side and the exhaled air exiting through a fitting in the cap opening, controlled by a valve. This air is then drawn through a bubbler in the glass jar of sterilizing solution. Three weeks ago I was looking to find out why the death stats for Italy were so high. I read on an Italian site that they were not treating anyone over 60 due to the shortage of ventilators. I live in British Columbia which has 460 ventilators for over two million people. I am 74 this year, right in the bullseye of this extermination. The wiper motor powering this unit can be easily dialled to a comfortable respiratory cycle. All in this unit cost less than $200 CDN, $140 of which is the motor controller. The final design will utilize a double acting bellows thereby producing its own vacuum side for the exhale cycle. This unit can be utilized by someone who is beginning to have respiratory problems, and by keeping air flowing through the lungs may prevent further damage. For me the alternative may be death. We're probably going to make 20 or so on the first run.
Kevin... Here is the 90 second video a local cameraman made. He was adamant that it be no longer than 90 seconds; today we're making a more detailed one. , with air sterilization and exhaust explained. ua-cam.com/video/Fbuy1P5cfdo/v-deo.html

What is that window sounds !
I think that may have been because my window was open. 🙂
You guys taking too much time on checklist.
DR Vasudevan Jagannathan Hi Dr Jagannathan, firstly thank you for your engagement, your feedback is very welcome. We would argue that the 60 seconds of checklist time is a good amount of time for this vital safety measure. It can be done whilst the patient is being preoxygenated and the surgeon is preparing. We would argue that it can potentially reduce complications during the case and therefore would be time well spent. It would be interesting to hear other anaesthetic opinions regarding this too. Regards, Free Anaesthetic Tutorials

Hi Free Anaesthetic Tutorials, enjoyed the video, I’m struggling with the equipment part of the syllabus and wonder if you could do some more tutorials on this?
Hi Eeeff123, Thanks for your comment. We are due to release a new tutorial on the plenum vapourizer this week, followed by one on the Humphrey ADE system the week after. If there are any topics you are particularly struggling with let us know and we can see what we can do. Thanks for getting in touch, Team @ FreeAnaestheticTutorials
