My year with Miss Dyan (Dylusions)
When Dyan Reaveley decided to teach a class online due to COVID-19 and the uncertainty of the future for her in-person workshops and trade shows, I jumped at the chance to get involved. I had no idea that I would get addicted to the Dylusions line (and Dyan's personality)! I have to say, in some ways, it saved me many times during this dark year.
Even though I haven't completed all the classes that I've purchased (I will!), when was I able to put everything else aside & just focus on art, I was at peace. The Reaveley team and community that I found surprisingly made me feel like I was actually in class with them (sometimes even when not attending live). That was awesome!
Anyways, here's a sequence of my products so far with the classes I've purchased and taken.

Mamma Mia Dog Trains "Right Finish" for Rally

Mamma dog learns the right finish for rally obedience. There are lots of training errors from me on this video. Some have been annotated on the video itself. The suggested training method was to treat halfway through the movement, but will be trying a target stick for a more fluid movement around the back.

Another attempt at stimulus control technique from Sarah Owings for dogs that are very focused with food in your hands. This video is pretty interesting because I make several training errors. The session is probably too long for Mamma dog and I realize that I should probably have taken a break and reoriented after all the fixation on my left hand.

I learned this from Sarah Owings lab at Clicker Expo 2019. The goal is to get the dog to look up at you. Mamma dog and I already have pretty good eye contact and watch skills, but this was still a good one to do.

In an attempt to teach Mamma dog to "stand", I tried to see if she would "sit" in heel position and to my surprise, she did! Of course, then I got greedy and asked for her to perform a "down". Excuse my training appearance!

Fall down? Survive? Really? I've stayed at this gem on multiple occasions. It is truly a magical place. The accommodations are cozy. The view and the access to the beach is beyond amazing. Deer have been known to make their way across the yard. Completely stunning. Also - dogs are welcome which is fantastic. The decor is rustic and charming - the place has soul and spirit and reminds one of the history of the Moclips area. I'd go again.. and again..and again.
Amos is so adorable and is working so hard. Maggie loves her puzzles too. Sweet video.
