Hey folks I'm CJ. I own my own I.T company and I am a automotive shitbox enthusiast. I have always been a huge car guy. I love so many different types and brands. Years back I realized that nice and shiny= costly and old and janky= fun. I've always enjoyed exceeding the limits of automotive engineering. I have done several NY Gambler 500 events. You'll notice I'm an avid AMC Eagle addict and my Eagle SX/4 has even had its 30 seconds of fame. The past 5 years I've lost motivation on projects, I'm hoping that maybe making videos and seeing people comments might give me to boost I need to Continue on. So please like and subscribe and see what I fabricobble next.
Green Back Boogie Oil Fixed (Mostly)
I feared the worst with all the oil leaking from what appeared to be the back of then engine. I found that the Valve cover gasket was indeed bad. even though its not that old. I guess it was just cheap. I replaced that with a new better gasket and that seemed to help the valve cover from leaking. However the car was still leaking profusely. I then discovered the Oil sensor on the block was bad. After replacing that the oil leak is basically gone, for the exception of the blow-by at high RPM. I took a page from @JunkyardDigs and made a catch can but on a test drive right after so much pressure built up my oil fill cap exited stage left. So its just back to undercoating the rig.
The engine has made it to 100k even after loosing all its oil. A fresh oil change and after running some ATF, the old Green Back Boogie is back to daily driver mode.

This is Stove Pipe Charlie my 1998 GMC Suburban I just picked up because everything else is broken or not finished. This big lug got the name because it had pellet stove vent pipe for an exhaust. But all is fine because I can now drag home more junk without looking for someone else to do it for me. It seats 8 for those trips with the extended family and friends. Most importantly of all it has a...

I rambled on for 11 minutes about what’s been going on and why I named the channel Battle Garage and Finding out what the true Battle is. I got myself a Much-needed tool box and I show that off. This Episode is basically random clips of things I’ve been doing. Like, Subscribe and Comment.
1981 AMC Eagle SX/4 Revival, Part 1

Part 1 of what will be a long series revival on my 1981 AMC Eagle SX/4 known as "Duke". This car got the name duke because it had the GM (Pontiac) Iron duke engine. Plans include upgrading to the AMC 258, rust repair and minor modifications along the way. Duke had 10 seconds of fame on That Dude in Blue (7 mins in) ua-cam.com/video/0lpD8mYgllI/v-deo.html My first Gambler with Duke! ua-cam.com/v...
Buy 2 get 1 free AMC deal
Переглядів 3783 місяці тому
For the past year or more I have been trying to purchase an AMC eagle parked along side a field. Then I found out there was 2 there. I ended up running into the owner of them at a car show and made a deal to purchase the 2 for $100. Upon arrival of the vehicles there was a Rambler 220 as well. He said I could have that for what I already paid for the other two.

@@snoopysrc thank you very much. I'll have more content soon. I've been super busy with work and I just haven't had a ton of free time
Those eagle wagons would look great with early hornet wagon nose bumpers and taillights
I've thought about putting eagle drive-line in the hornet sedan I have.
Glass bead seems to be the best medium to use with water
I'll look into that
“No lowballers…..i know what i got”😂😂
Those cars were so ahead of their time. A old guy down the road from my parents lake cabin had one, had wood grain down the side and was sweet
@@MidnightPolaris800 they definitely were
I am considering restoring on of these. 3sp auto is never going to work on the highway. What trans did you use, and do you run it at 75+mph?
@@petetrembath2537 these came factory available with a T5. I used one out of another eagle I have. I very rarely ever travel on the highway. But when I do I can cruise nicely 65-70 so 75 shouldn't be too bad. You can watch the gas gauge drop at those speeds
@@battle.garage2404 Thank you for responding! That was a big help.
New subscriber here. Great video - what a classic 80s car. Glad you got it back on the road.
@@rivendellcoinsantiquities4964 thank you for subscribing. There will definitely be more AMC stuff in the future
You are a lucky man . I have one of these , about the same condition but with the 5 speed . I knew they were worth money , but when this guy offered me $17,500.oo , I about shit my pants . But I said no , I love this car and they are VERY rare . He got mad that I wouldnt sell it ! Still cant find a back window , never will . LOL .
@@marcchaffee7751 I wish this was a manual. It will be someday. Someone on one of the eagle groups on Facebook has a window for sale. Too far from me and min has defrost and I'd like to find one that does.
Man I would love that car. It was my first car . I still wish to this day I never got rid of it. Thank God for pictures.
How did I miss this rally course? That looks like a blast!
@@GEARHEADdezign you weren't there last fall where you?
I love amc’s! Hoping to find an eagle soon!
@@chickennugget2931 they are out there.
I know where you can get a running driving 4 door sedan in pretty darn clean condition (Montana)
It sounds good with the new fuel pump. I've had quite a few of them over the years but never a kammback. I'm jealous. 😅 I've got an 83 wagon waiting on an engine swap now. Thanks for saving them.
Sweet ride! 👍 All modern cars are designed from day one to be disposable. Your car and most in that generation were built to last !
@@HarrisonJBounel as someone who has owned old and brand new both domestic and import I couldn't agree. More
I had a hand-me-down 1975 AMC Hornet Sportabout Wagon (258 inline six) which belonged to my Uncle, then my parents, and then I got it as my first car. It was the best car I ever had the joy of owning/driving.
@@kevinronan7178 that's awesome. Unfortunately my family never owned anything decent enough to hand down. I have been fortunate enough to find some cheap classics to have fun with and hopefully I can handle them down
I had a one with the ironduke 4 and a 4speed. Wish I still had it.
@@christophergeggatt685 my sx4 had the iron duke. It's going to get the 258 or something else
Hell yeah! Woke up my 95 caravan after about ten or so years and have been driving it almost every day for a few years now. Ive always had my eye on these eagles and id like to get one one day
They are out there, I totally recommend getting one. Its a great sense of accomplishment to bring something back from the dead isn't it?
@@battle.garage2404 thats for sure. Working on an 85 camry doing a head gasket and an 89 supra turbo as well. I think one day id definitely like to explore the platform in general and see what kind of motors and everything, sounds like youve got a sweet setup with the five speed man
good for you
Nice one thanks
Where is part 3
I started recording for the part 3. But lost motivation as I was afraid I would do. Then winter came. I do plan to get back to it this spring along with many other projects
Where is part 3 and 4 and 5 ?? I want to see more
ABG Brother, can't wait to see it finished and Gamblin
Good luck with the project! Can't wait to see it!
I'm running a 99 Taurus next year, how'd yours fare?
Trans started slipping on day two. Car was parked out behind my house for most the winter and must have leaked more out. In the process of trying to move it in the snow killed the trans the rest of the way. So it didn't make a round 2
WOW, Now I know my Saturn can take the Gambler 500 seeing that other one go through that mud-tastic trail!
