Hello! Yes! She actually never had another episode. The doctor told us that we may see more episodes when she was sick or around getting vaccines, and that she would probably outgrow it by the time she was a year old, but we never saw another episode. She had a check up with the pediatric neurologist at 6 months old and again at 1 year. She developed appropriately and never had any problems or learning difficulties. She is 6 years old now and completely normal, healthy and thriving!

@@realimane9552 he was diagnosed with benign Tonic upgaze at 6 months the dr said it will go away on its own before he turns 1 and I believe it’s gone away he hasn’t done it since 8 months old he’s now 11 months

I honestly can’t remember! I’d have to try watching the video clips we had of her. After we got out of the hospital, she never did it again and she’s been perfectly healthy with no issues. She’s 5 now!

I have been worried and crying for 2 days. he's been doing this to me for 1 week. but he laughs when he does. he lowers his chin and looks up. I watched a lot of video and it's really the PTU. how long did this last for your child?

@@sabso1871 I completely understand the anxiety you must be experiencing. Our daughter had episodes multiple times a day, but it only lasted 3-4 days. It was helpful to have her thoroughly evaluated by the medical team at a children’s hospital.

@@sabso1871 how is your son today? My 4 month girl has done this a few times and we spent so many hours in the ER and then eeg test. The neurologist said it’s benign paraoximal tonic upgaze! Im praying my daughter outgrows this and it doesn’t affect her.

Hello! All of her tests came back normal. She is now 3 years old and we have not ever seen another episode. They only happened for a few days and the neurologist was speculating that the ear infection that she had immediately prior could have caused those symptoms, but we won’t ever know for sure. I am sorry to hear about what you’re going through! Praying that they find an answer for you and that everything is ok! Please keep us updated! ❤️

Hi Christian, yes she did. Actually she never had an episode the entire time we were in the hospital and we never saw her do it again. The doc did say that they typically grow out of it within 6 months, but she only did it for a few days around that time. They had us bring her back a month later and 6 months later for a check up, and everything was perfectly normal. She’s getting ready to turn 3 next month and she’s had no further issues. Sassy as can be, but thankfully she’s perfect! ☺️

@@SuperPRNSTR my daughter has ptu. She was diagnosed at children's mercy in kc about three yrs ago. She's four now and it still affects her. It's slowed significantly, but she still has her bad days.

@@SuperPRNSTR I will say now that she's older age can verbalize her symptoms. She says it tickles her eyes which is a relief because I used to wonder if it hurt her

cheyenne smith oh no! That’s no fun!! I feel like I remember a little of that in the first couple of days because I went from drinking pretty much only Dr. Pepper and not much water, to a large amount all of the sudden. I had to really push myself to get it done by the end of the day and if I drank too much to fast, then I felt waterlogged and maybe slightly nauseous, but after a few days, that improved. A few days before I started the water, I went back to 💯 plant based eating and so my diet was really cleaned up. I also have a physically demanding job, so I really do stay thirsty. I totally could see how that might be too much water for some people depending maybe on if there are any underlying health issues, body composition, etc. I was feeling so good by the end of the week that I’ve kept going and have now completed 2 full weeks and a couple days. I’m now down 4lbs as of this morning and feeling so good! Me and my husband have just started working out and weight lifting a couple days ago so we will making more progress videos soon! I posted a water update pic yesterday on our Nate and Kell FB and Instagram pages. I wish you the best and if you decide to try again with the water, I’d love to hear how you’re doing! 💗

My husband said the directions were not clear on that, so he just wrapped them in there the best he could! 🤣 Later when I get home, I can take a close up photo and post here in the comments for you. We didn’t think to do an assembly video, but that would be a great idea! Pretty much the only thing we didn’t like about this product was the poor assembly instructions.

Hi Abbie! Thank you for your comment! It is great to hear from you! It is very scary when you don't know why your child is doing something unusual like that! She has not had another single episode since then thankfully! Sounds like your little girl is doing great as well! They told us they usually outgrow them within 6 months, so hopefully your daughter will just stop all together and you won't have to see that anymore. It does help give you peace of mind after they have been thoroughly checked out, but it is still worrisome to have to see the episodes continue. Honestly, that was the most stressful thing I have ever been through as a mom and we are beyond grateful that God answered our prayer and she is totally healthy and has no effects from it! Prayers for your precious daughter to continue her healthy development!

tarrah delong in our daughter’s situation, they ran a 72 hour EEG and with that, they could see that all of her brain activity was normal and there was no seizure activity. They wanted to do an MRI to make sure that all her brain structures looked normal with no abnormalities there. Everything came back perfect for her. They had us come back to see the pediatric neurologist a month later and then again right after her first birthday. He wanted to make sure we didn’t have any further concerns and he checked her thoroughly to make sure she was developing on track, which she was. After that visit at 12 months old, she “graduated” from the neurology clinic. He said there was a possibility that the ear infection that the ER had diagnosed a few days prior to her being admitted, could have caused the upgaze, but they weren’t sure. He said she may do it again at some point if she runs a fever or gets sick, and not to worry, but she hasn’t. He also said they usually outgrow it within about 6 months from when it starts. The crazy thing about her story was that she only had 2-3 days with the upgaze episodes. She never had another one from the day before we took her to the children’s hospital and hasn’t had one since! She will be 2 on Saturday and she’s been perfect! How old is your grandson and how did he get his diagnosis and what exactly didn’t they diagnose him with?

Nate & Kell thank you so much for messaging me back. I’m so happy to hear that she is doing great with no more episodes. Our Max started rolling his eyes at about 8 months old. Back in November they had him in the hospital for 5 days doing an eeg and he never had an episode so they sent him to an ophthalmologist where he diagnosed him with far sightedness and an astigmatism but told the neurologist that he did not believe that was related to the eye rolling so they scheduled and mri for the 16th but this past Sunday he had about 7 episodes of the eye rolling so they wanted him back in for an eeg. They hooked him up on Monday and Tuesday h had an episode that was caught on the eeg and showed no brain activity. That’s when they decided to take him off the eeg and rule out seizures and do the quick mri. That showed nothing of concern but still want him back on the 16th as this one only took 4 photos. They said they are diagnosing him with the paroxysmal tonic upward gaze and want to rule out a brain tumor because they can go hand in hand. We are praying that it is not a brain tumor and have put it in the lords hands.
