An old song performed by an ageing pub singer. Mike Berry did a lovely version in 1980 and I've attempted to copy that. Couldn't work the guitar intro out completely but this will have to suffice.

My old pal Paddy Hawes wrote this bluesy song 'Peace of Mind' and 3/4 of Famous Sparrow recorded it at Maida Vale in 1992. Paddy Hawes on guitar, Alan Hall on Bass and Andy Wilkinson on vocals and guitar. Not sure who was playing drums as Ian Harris had not been initiated at that point. I always liked this tune.

Hands of a Few is another of my attempts at a protest type song. Started writing it (doesn't that sound pretentious) in the early eighties and finished it and recorded it early nineties with Famous Sparrow - Paddy Hawes guitar, Ian Harris drums, Alan Hall Bass and myself on guitar and vocals.

One of my first attempts at writing a song from mid seventies I think. Used to play it in pubs etc at that time with the band 'Rain'. Went on to record it early nineties with Famous Sparrow - Paddy Hawes guitar, Ian Harris drums, Alan Hall bass and me on guitar and vocals. Give A Reason: A tune by Paddy Hawes and Andy Wilkinson. Paddy had a riff as I remember and we sort of jammed the verses then used a bit of a tune that I'd previously given up and stuck it in the middle. Almost like John and Paul did on A Day In The Life but perhaps not quite as successfully. Anyway here we are Famous Sparrow sounding a bit sort of Mick and Keith.

Chip On My Shoulder - finally got round to recording this song which I've had for five or six years now. Not autobiographical or anything although I do have a huge chip on my shoulder about many, many things. Bass, drums and recording all done by Nick Arthur (thanks again Nick).
