This building is a nightmare! Rooms converted to overpriced "condos", (500k for 700 sq ft & up), no air conditioning, very small elevators, hot & cold running snobs, ongoing roach infestation & more. The convex side of the building faces West, right down Ocean Blvd.. Hot night, no AC, windows open for circulation, loud street noises (EMS sirens etc). People in prison have more comfort than this!

I wanted to look at this beautiful building when I was a kid (1964-ish) but they chased me out before I even got past the lobby. Today it occurred to me that there would probably be UA-cams about it. I wasn't disappointed. Glad it survived the 1933 earthquake unscathed

The breakwater does reduce the waves which is a bummer, but on the flip side, I wonder if it also offers protection from tsunami.

Wow was that the old Burnett School ? I went there in the late 70’s and heard they changed the name. It was pretty rough back then and I lost my father out there. Ima Elm and 22nd st. native and was born at LosAltos hospital but we moved to Florida in 82. Thanks for the video and memories.

THERE ARE CONDOS IN LONG BEACH ? HOW MUCH ? AND WHERE ? ONE PROBLEM , I HAVE 2 DOGS , ONE IS A 4 POUND CHIWEENIE AND THE OTHER IS A BIG DOBERMAN PINSCHER ( FOR PROTECTION ). WHEN I WAS MARRIED, WE RENTED A HOUSE IN LONG BEACH NEAR SIGNAL HILL NOT TO FAR FROM THE CIRCLE LIGHT. DON'T REMEMBER THE NAME OF THE CIRCLE NOW, BUT I LOVED THE AREA. LOVED LONG BEACH PIER, WHERE WE COULD GET ICE CREAM CONES, AND WALK , AND I EVEN STAYED ON THE QUEEN MARY. WONDERFUL MEMORIES THEN. MY HUSBAND WAS AN ENGINEER , SO WE COULD AFFORD THE RENT. IT WAS $900.00 A MONTH, AND THEN WE HAD TO PAY A SECURITY DEPOSIT. THE ONLY BAD THING HAPPENED THERE WAS OUR BICYCLES WERE STOLEN OUT OF THE GARAGE ONE SUMMER, AND OUR NEIGHBORS , WHO HAPPENED TO OWN THE LOCAL DRY CLEANERS, WERE ROBBED AT GUNPOINT BUT WERE NOT HURT. SOMEONE WAS ABLE TO GET TO THE PHONE AND CALL THE POLICE. LONG BEACH HAD THE BEST GOOD WILL STORES, AND THE RESTAURANTS ON THE BEACH WERE GREAT. I STUDIED MICROBIOLOGY AT LONG BEACH COMMUNITY COLLEGE BACK THEN, AND LOVED TO GO TO SAN PEDRO TO WATCH THE CRUISE SHIPS TAKE OFF. LIKE I SAID, GREAT MEMORIES THERE.

I WOULD LOVE TO MOVE BACK TO LONG BEACH, BUT I AM 65 AND I DON'T THINK I COULD AFFORD TO LIVE THERE ANY LONGER. I LIVED THERE IN 90/91, AND WISH I WOULD HAVE STAYED. THANK YOU FOR SHOWING THESE PROPERTIES. XOXO

I’m stuck between going to Long Beach or not for college. I got accepted into CSULB and scared that the cost of living won’t be good for me. I’ve also heard that Long Beach is considered “getto” but I’m not sure by that. Do you have any tips for living in LB?

We are looking to move, so if you're looking for a house out in Caldwell, ID let me know. A 4 bedroom / 2 bath / 1910 sq. ft. single level - TONS of upgrades and extra features, the living room includes a vaulted ceiling and a fireplace, a covered patio out front, a 2 car, fully insulated garage with a deep sink, a double oven, the master bedroom/bath has a double sink, jetted tub, full-sized walk-in shower, walk-in closet, both toilets were just replaced as well. There is also 5 1080 HD, wireless security cameras, with solar panels for charging that are already setup. The backyard has raised garden beds on one side, a large sandbox for kids, an extended 40' x 10' patio, two outdoor gas line hookups on the patio, and a brand new $6,000 hot tub that was just purchased at the end of 2020, that is inside of a private oasis that is set up on our back patio. Also, there is a basketball court and a full park/playground within a short walking distance. It is also a quiet neighborhood. Oh, and we are 15 minutes from Lake Lowell if you have a boat.

I'm from longbeach californina born and raised let me tell you the pros and cons pros: it's beautiful and there many places to go literally it's not a boring city going to the beaches can be fun to go jog and or just walk around and experince the city you can also go vist Catalina island and go to skyline and see the whole city it's amazing during the day time and at night and the houses around skyline or signal hill are absolutely beautiful and safe. Long each also has places like in and out burgers Korean bbq Lakewood mall. You can also vist the aquarium of the Pacific if your a huge sea animal fanatic. You can also see alot of surfers and people riding there bikes and skateboarding around the beaches. Also it's where the laugh factory is located where comedians go longbeach has no official national team so wearing any team is no big deal. Also it's very diverse you see Asians Latinos whites blacks middle eastern and more in longbeach. Visit the queen Mary you can also go to the pike whatever it's called forgot it's one of the nicest and cleanest also you can go walk around shoreline and takes pictures and stuff. now cons: crime there crime like everywhere else also there gangs rent and buying houses and can be expensive.
