    • @InsideTheProduct
      @InsideTheProduct 20 днів тому

      So I honestly cannot tell if this is a good idea or not, since I don't know that market. I would recommend to research the market: who are the people that you target? Prepare some kind of survey to find out what they are interested in, and if the feedback is good, try to interview a few of them to better understand their needs and expectations.

    Thanks for the video and I agree that all product professionals should focus leveraging AI to solve real-world problems; it's the correct way for us to think. However, as you alluded to, this is the next big wave in technology, following IOT, crypto, big data etc. This meaning there is huge marketing and sales opportunities when riding this wave, along with showing that your company is progressive and forward thinking. As such, I caution most PMs to NOT instantly push back on creating "AI solutions" which you believe don't solve end user problems. If someone can give you confidence that it will generate revenue and sales opportunities then you should at least consider it against what else you could be delivering. To often I see PMs ignore revenue and just focus on value.

    • @InsideTheProduct
      @InsideTheProduct Місяць тому

      This is so true, focusing on solving users problems and create solutions is a proxy to generate revenue. That said many PMs tend to have an allergy to develop their products only for money reasons. From my experience this usually comes from not knowing the full story and missing the point that possibly this is just another way to solve a problem. In the end PMs need to be critical and analytical to study and find the best opportunities.

    Is your product now AI-powered? And how is this better for your users?

  • @jacquesbooysen3773
    @jacquesbooysen3773 Місяць тому

    Very insightful as always. And it's true that the benefits of AI must be seen in context, but what is also true is that AI as a concept is complex and a lot of people just want to be part of the latest trend so from a marketing perspective I'd milk the hype around AI no doubt.

    • @InsideTheProduct

    coming from the energy industry i belive that this might be a good place to start when looking for innovating and move forward with new strategies before the competition takes them. The energy industry is a zero sum game, so who ever moves faster wins, but that might bring a lot of risk.

    • @InsideTheProduct
      @InsideTheProduct 2 місяці тому

      So true, those types of industries can be slow movers, but if someone manages to innovate it can make a huge difference, but of course there's the risk of failure. On the other hand not innovating is a risk in itself since others will do.

    I have so much to say about this... "agile fails" when an organization finds the status quo perfectly fine, think Kodak or Nokia."Agile fails" if an organization does not have the right people in sitting in the right place doing the right thing. "Agile fails" if an organization cannot navigate through uncertainty in the market, if it is not able to anticipate and react change, again think Kodak or Nokia. "Agile fails" because agile product development is hard, very hard, again without the right people, sitting in the right place, ... you get the point. But also "agile fails" because of bad luck. There, I should stop ranting.

    • @InsideTheProduct
      @InsideTheProduct 3 місяці тому

      Agree, sometimes is too easy to fail at Agile

  • @juanpabloamorochod.752
    @juanpabloamorochod.752 3 місяці тому

    I can't say that I disagree with everything you said, but being a SWE and working for a sucessful organization that develops software in an agile way, I part ways with your argument. First, agile is not something, it is how to do something. It is not something one can buy like consulants and certifications, sure learning and getting help can help getting into that agile mindset, but boy does business gets the original manifesto wrong, and that has created a lot of harm like in the BBC or FBI. Yes, of course trying to achieve working in an agile way fails because of Culture, because in business Culture is everything. I think "agile fails" because of business retries to replicate and scale. A parallel to this "failure", it is a failure at all, is this: The motivition people have to start meditating, seek more awareness, less stress, healthier lifes, when actually Meditation is about recognizing that there is no concept of Self: That which we perceive as "I" is actually Conciousness. That's why "meditation fails". Agile software development is about delivering better sofware faster. As long as organizations do not recognize the nature and purpose of agile product development, they will fail to embrace it.

    • @InsideTheProduct
      @InsideTheProduct 3 місяці тому

      Thanks for your comment. I agree that Agile is not something but more a set of principles. I've been in organizations that have been very Agile and has been a great experience and others that have been not Agile and you can notice the frustrations and lack of capabilities to deliver properly. And I don't want to blame anyone or anything in particular, since often is a combination of factors. One of the red flags I see with organizations is when they say that we need to be Agile when in practice what they have is luck of focus. Anyways the rant could go for a while.
