Tesla FSD, no updates, Critical Failures, Robotaxi pushed back
@tesla where is FSD 12.4.3? We have all been waiting forever.
In this video, we dive into the current state of Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology and why the long-awaited 12.4.X update is still nowhere to be seen. Despite the hype, FSD continues to struggle, particularly around construction zones where the system repeatedly fails. One major issue is that Tesla’s mapping data isn’t real-time, leading to significant navigation problems. We’ll also highlight two safety-critical interventions demonstrating why Tesla’s robotaxis might not be a reality until 2027. Join us as we explore these challenges and what they mean for the future of autonomous driving. Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more updates on Tesla and autonomous vehicle technology.

Tesla Auto Park Effortless Parking

The Auto Park feature by Tesla is truly remarkable as it handles reverse parking exceptionally well. I was very surprised by this feature when testing it out. I would like to continue testing this feature by observing how the car reacts when people get in and out of their cars while I'm parking next to them.

This may have been my last drive on FSD version 12.3.6. As of June 7th, 2024, Tesla has begun rolling out FSD Version 12.4.1 in North America to the public. As of right now, my cars have not received this update. On today's trip, I had a hands-free drive to my destination and back. I encountered no issues, and this is mainly highway driving sped up to 8 times the speed. It was a fantastic drive...
Tesla FSD GPS Parking Points Future

Tesla FSD STRIKES Bug Tesla Not Accountable

I purchased one month of FSD (Full Self-Driving) on 5/25 for my wife's Model Y. I used the feature four times without any interventions. However, when I checked on Monday, 5/27, I found that I had five strikes and FSD was suspended for a week. I contacted Tesla service and they confirmed that the car was only driven four times, but they were unable to explain the five strikes. They refused to p...

Tesla FSD 12.3.6 Predictable

Tesla FSD 12.3.6 Highway Stack needs updates

I tested the FSD Highway Stack in Minneapolis, MN. The car handled traffic pretty well, except for one instance where it attempted to go around vehicles on a different exit lane only. The car attempts to take the fastest lane, even if it is not your exit-only lane. Traffic jams suck by the way! I do imagine a world where all the cars are fully FSD and can communicate with each other. This would...

Tesla FSD 12.3 Middle of intersection STOP.
Just by noticing how the cars on the screen kind of glitch. On screen it's inches, but in real life that is feet, bro. That's a deadly accident just waiting to happen. And missing those cones could have easily been anything. OMG! And it does not see the overhead signs? Don't risk your family. The tech is not there yet.
Bro that’s nuts! And a huge liability, imagine it bust a pipe or hit someone. Thanks for sharing!
It's videos like this that make me not even want to try Summon. I watched another video where summon failed all but the first try. I do get up the courage to try Summon, I'm definitely going with an empty parking lot like this. May be embarrassing but much safer. Hopefully this gets worked out in 12.5.
I don't wanna be that guy hitting parked cars
These updates are so random. I've had 12.5 since July 24th and found it to be far superior to 12.4.3. Still waiting for the summon feature to be enabled
AI with attitude.
I feel sorry for you 😢. But I thank you for sacrificing it to make this video to show us. From the videos I have seen FSD works excellent. I’m getting mine on August 🎉
I'm also on 12.3.6 and I've had it do some of the same weird things that you have experienced and I think it a combination of bad mapping and it just can't handle dynamic stuff like road construction that suddenly changed the course of the trip. I don't know how much of this versions like 12.4.5 fix but I suspect it doesn't fix it either but you don't know because you never get updates. Still I think FSD is a 90-95% solution for driving but you still need a person there that can take over. Also I don't think the robotaxi will EVER work on just general streets unless there are some sort of remote signaling guiding the car or something. Could you imagine putting a 5 year old in a robotaxi and telling the car to take him to school and have the car run into the road problems you ran into? No way in hell. I'm going to give my FSD subscription one more month to see if I get any upgrades. If I don't get any I'm going to cancel it and maybe re-subscribe in a year or so. There is no point paying for something that has problems when you can't get updated versions of the software.
Im on FSD V12.4.3 while driving at night and wearing your driving glasses the nag is ridiculous to a point it unsafe to use at night. On prevision version I never had a strike while driving at night with my driving glasses. Tesla monitor system is out of wack.
Same here, still on 12.3.6. Just get rid of the NAG and I gladly wait for 12.5 with summon and banish :)
I don't see how summon can work without USS or LiD. Vision based systems only show what the car camera FOV tells the car. I would expect lots of bumpers being hit
For what you need FSD?
I love FSD when it works. Again, I drive 98% in FSD with interventions here and there. But it's nice to be hands free.
@@FSDdriverso 98% of the time you DON'T drive. What you need is a chafeaur.
Too busy brown nosing Trump
I bet 12.4 wide release is cancelled in prep for 12.5 release
Maybe. We will never know.
@@FSDdriver Actually we do know very soon.
I'm promised lots of things from Elon like a 8/8 event FSD only going up in price at 12k, now 8k. Tesla only appreciates. As the prices fall. We know nothing
How do you get 12.4.3 ? You have to be like that Whole Mars guy: all praise, all the time, for FSD.
I’m not gonna praise a person when there is issues
@@FSDdriver And your honesty is much appreciated. There are many FSD reviewers that are focused on Tesla stock price, not the actual performance of the software.
I got 12.4.3
On which "general" software version is your car? I think FSD 12.4 is currently only available on versions up to 2024.15.
v12 (2024.14.9 0b82f700aebe)
@@FSDdriver I see, so maybe just bad luck that your did not get 12.4 yet. Or try to post a "OMG FSD is soo good" video, since Tesla surely has a database with links between UA-cam channels and car IDs :P
@ramazotto2727 I hope they are not doing that as it would break tons of privacy laws and rules.
Missed exit, disengagements, on a very easy daytime drive. FSD is years way from Full Autonomy. The buggy beta software has a long road ahead.
It said stopped due to unexpected error. I wonder what would be causing that.
No idea
If it can't summon, it would be hard to trust FSD. $8k? I'll pass.
I'm not sure why summon struggles, but FSD works flawlessly 98% of the time. I don't understand the disconnect between the two features. Hope Tesla can address it.
If you have been very honest about FSD in the past (ie critical), then Tesla might delay when you get the latest 12.4.3 beta software.
So if you are critical you don’t get the update? Wtf?
There is no evidence of this being true.
We don’t have any evidence of this being true. However people have noted on 𝕏 that certain Tesla pushers seem to be on some type of early list.
@@FSDdriver Exactly, the guys that are all praise all the time for FSD are the first ones to get FSD updates. Like that Whole Mars guy. I think he's Elon's brother.
@@DerekDavis213 I talk to WholeMars almost daily. He's not Elons brother. He is a kid who's invested in Tesla stock and happens to be followed by Elon, but he's been critical of things here and there. he's a huge Tesla pusher though, I'm probably more critical than him when it comes to FSD.
Lool so crappy a car with ultrasonic sensors will do it much better
my car technically has those ultrasonic sensors but I think Tesla disabled the features of them. I maybe misinformed however. I remember reading articles of Tesla removing them from cars at service centers as well.
@FSDdriver Quite crappy to purchase a vehicle with the system then it gets deactivated. In Sweden where I live you get your money back if the product differs from the original specs within 3 years of purchase.
I’m not sure how they would figure out the cost of it for the consumer end
@@norbertmayer7005@norbertmayer7005 A fellow UA-camr mentioned how great it is to get software updates overnight so the car feels new. The other side of the coin is you might lose features.
@FSDdriver Then I suppose you don't own your car. A guy in gothenburg just got a decision from the consumer advocate for Tesla to buy back his 2022 with full price.
When did you last try parallel parking? I've seen many recent videos of very successful parallel parking of Teslas. What software version are you using?
@@markl3893 12.3.6 I’ve never had it pop up to park on city streets.
What software version?
12.3.6
In July of 2024, after *four* *years* in development, FSD still cannot handle diagonal or slanted parking spots. And FSD cannot pull in straight to a parking spot. Backing in works great, but it is often too slow in a busy parking Lot.
What version of FSD?
12.3.6
I don't even have the option to summon. got fsd on my 2024 model y.
Really? No summon you should post a pic of that. Is it enabled in the car?
So disappointing. I think the Summon feature just never got reworked to use the neural net AI like FSD and it shows. I truly hope they can make this "Banish" mode happen. I would love to let it go find it's own parking spot, but that will take a a huge amount of work.
Crazy how they have full self driving, but can't get this to work
I think it needs to have other things than just vision IMO
summon is so fucking bad, my rims got fucked because of a kerb as well
FSD got me a couple of times this year… it’s so unfortunate. I understand why people buy those dumb looking rim guards now
I use summon everyday with no issue in busy Costco parking lots....
Make videos of it
Can you show me
If another driver parks to close to your driver side door and you cannot get into the car on that side, then this feature could back the car out for you so that you can get into your car. Same for garages if the driver side is to closed to the wall. The older models had sensors to this feature, but in the new 2024 models those sensors are gone. I don't see this feature available in my Model 3 Highland. (2024)
The paint looks great.
even the autopilot when exiting the curve or exiting the parking lot going to road
Absoulutely fantastic video. Great effort, what drone did you use to capture the birds eye view? Looks very stable and professional!
I used a DJI Air 2s. I’ve owned it for a long time but never really use it much. Figured I could mix in some footage with some testing.
At 1:19 Summon hit the curb? Seriously? After 4 years in beta, and 8 cameras, AI and Neural Nets. It Still cannot handle super simple driving in an empty parking Lot ?
It’s a pretty rough go
How long ago did Elon said you could summon your car from a different state? This didn’t look good….I thought it was better
It's pretty terrible. When I first got the car, I thought it was a cool party trick because I got it to pull into my garage two times. But when I was showing a friend, it drove right across my lawn for no reason, and that was over a year ago.
Elmo has very little credibility. He says many things that are simply false.
@@FSDdriverhave you tried new updates? I see it doing impressive stuff on UA-cam. I hope people aren’t editing those videos
@miseseconomics I’m stuck on version 12.3.6 Elon and Tesla hate me for showing people the truth.
@@FSDdriver Your honesty is greatly appreciated! Nobody likes an Elan influencer that has nothing but praise for the buggy FSD software.
Non-Tesla driver here. Why is this a feature if it’s undercooked? I get the whole Tesla mantra of beta testing / guinea pigs in the hopes of continual OTA software improvements. However, this seems pretty sketch.
I understand that Summon was Tesla's initial project, which eventually led to the idea of Full Self-Driving (FSD). However, it hasn't been actively developed since and is now included as an add-on feature to the FSD package. A little over a year ago, when I purchased my first Model Y, I tested out Smart Summon on the golf course, and the car ended up driving from the parking lot onto the course. I plan on trying to recreate that with permission from a course in my local area.
Why is FSD a feature if it is very *undercooked* after 4 years in beta?
@@DerekDavis213 FSD works pretty well but summon doesnt. Really strange
@@hugohom2280 FSD does not work pretty well. There are Interventions on any challenging drive. It has been demoted to 100 percent Supervised driving. That is not what people paid for.
There's bugs in the new screen. It looked like a truck ran over my car and all the cars around me disappeared. The same bugs are carried over like confused with double turning lane to be in when turning. And like in previous versions it won't go on green on any lane this time. Takes forever to move at stop signs without intervention.
Thanks for sharing. What probably will happen for the Cybercab is routing on an app with current location and address where to. For private vehicles when placing an address maybe the route planner should ask 'park or drop-off ' then act accordingly.
That’s what I was thinking as well.
12.3.6 is terrible. regression. it nags me. and its input check doesnt count my input. so i have to rip it out of fsd, go on a laden tirade, and then engage it again. any regression thats more unsafe i don't hold back.
I think the newer version will have even more nags. And you can’t wear sun glasses or a hat. Kills my style.
It’s 06/10 no update for my Tesla Model X 2019. Currently on v12.3.6
I understand that the new version has been halted due to issues from version 11 coming back. In my opinion, they should add a check for updates button. They should also be testing the software before release.
On the freeway, FSD is still on the v11 stacks it is not on N2N.
Correct
Narrator says "There are *weird* things in this video that we are going to cover" So FSD is still making mistakes, every day? It's a LONG road ahead until Level 5 Full Autonomy. Human supervisors better get used to watching that buggy beta software, for every second on the road .
1 critical disengagement per 300 miles. we can say full autonomy reaches the point of 1 per 1m miles
Most people watch FSD videos to see disengagements or interventions. In other words, when FSD makes mistakes. FYI.
Yes but we can't have sunny days without rainy ones.
I've had the trial and it's going to expire on the 9th of June. Good riddance. I did not enjoy it at all. Nothing really dangerous or anything just stupidly slow, useless in the fog, goes STUPIDLY slow in the lightest of rain. It's amazing for what it is but not for me.
I use it 98% of all my drives. It's nice to hear what other Tesla owners are saying. What modes did you drive in during your trial? I mainly drive in assertive mode in FSD.
@@FSDdriver Drive in a busy big city, that will bring FSD to its knees: Toronto, Chicago, NYC, Los Angeles .
A wrapped light shouldn't be a 4 way stop unless it's a law in your state. The red blink example you had does stop as it should - but yeah it shouldn't just sit there forever. I wonder if that'll be addressed since that's really the main flaw I'm seeing with v12.
There are many flaws in v12: often ignores speed bumps often exceeds the speed limit problem making busy Left turns unable to navigate parking lots unable to navigate parking structures unable to read: DO NOT ENTER sign cannot react to Police or Ambulances w/sirens on I could go on and on
I'm starting to see those things the more and more i drive with it.
FSD: Fool Self-Driving
LOL you got to let the car cook if no one else is around.
Tesla software is so solid, so bug free, so trustworthy. NOT
It has a long long long way to go.
@@FSDdriver But many fan bois will not admit that. They say FSD is better than a human Level 5 in 6 months!
A very easy daytime drive, mostly freeways, and few turns. FSD did fine. Maybe next time, something more challenging? Level 5 Full Autonomy requires FSD to drive in busy big cities, with *ZERO* interventions.
I have been driving ordinary cars for 46 years. Not one has scared me like this piece of junk scared this driver. Progress?
You could simply drive it in normal mode. It's a reliable electric vehicle..
Also these videos are always filmed when there is virtually no other cars on the road & it’s a clear bright day lol
It's hard to go out at night and record when you have kids. Lol. This summer in planning on driving more and less highways.
How can it be classed as self driving when you have to intervene ? It will never be at the stage where you can feel safe to have a nap while driving anywhere
Someday, every car would need to be connected to the same network and have full self-driving capability in order to achieve this. One thing fsd can do is drive you all the way to the crash site.
