Reading through the comments here I see that Lance Corporal Buddy Mann was KIA I dedicate the two songs by SSgt Barry Sadler from his 1966 record album Ballads of the Green Berets to the 58,220 American soldier KIA during the Vietnam conflict. "The Soldier Has Come Home" SSgt Barry Sadler Lay the green sod on me Carve my name in stone Lay the green sod on me The soldier has come home Don't mourn for me, my darling Don't cry when I am gone Don't mourn for me, my darling The soldier will come home My friends have gone before me And layed their tired bodies down My friends have gone before me To prepare the resting ground Let me go to sleep now To march and fight no more Let me go to sleep now I'm tired, my body's sore So lay the green sod on me Put the wreath upon my stone Lay the green sod on me The soldier has come home "Lullaby" SSgt Barry Sadler Go to sleep, it's getting late My watch says it's half past eight In an hour I must go When I'll be back, well I don't know While I'm gone, you'll be a man Help your mama when you can It's a big job, I can see For a boy just pushing three Son, can I have a little kiss Just a small one you won't miss That's right, close your sleepy eyes You shouldn't see your daddy cry So go to sleep, it's getting late My watch says it's half past eight In an hour I must go When I'll be back, well I don't know

And what's the point of all this? A senseless war, the Americans call them heroes, but they themselves invaded another country. The most criminal country in the world, there are no heroes there. Wars are starting, and they are senseless. In America there are only imaginary heroic pussies, a country made of paper, without history.

Man, this is so powerful and poignant. Young Marine well aware of the dangers and odds he was facing, just wanted to make it home to his wife and baby girl. I never understood why we had these Marines as basically “sitting ducks” getting blown up by enemy artillery from Laos.

Thank you to him, thank you to your family... you may have never known him, but you do. This video is incredible. My dad went to con thien in '68. He raiaed me as a single dad, but my point is I saw him everyday, but never got to see him like this, in this footage. If i had, we wouldnt have fought so much. 🇺🇸

Wow, what a gift to have from your father. This is probably the only thing you have from him. I know some may not understand what I'm getting at, but some only have old photos or old 8mm silent films of their fallen fathers. I'm a veteran myself and I want you know that you are also a hero. It's up to you to keep his legacy alive for future generations.

Janet, I can’t imagine the pain you’ve always lived with not having known your father, but what a treasure this video is. As a combat veteran of Iraq I identify so much with this young man, and his country lost a great man, with the war robbing us all of his future and the good he would have done.

These wars are stupid. Everyone wants to talk about politics and argue about what side is the good guy or what do we believe in. All of that blows right out the window as soon as the first round zips past your head. Then, it becomes a fight to just survive and make it out okay. You do your best to survive and maybe help your buddies in the same hole with you. But, they don’t always make it despite your best efforts. And then you get home to have all of these morons argue about trivial things as if they’ve been there with you and have somehow earned the right to speak on your behalf back home. It’s all a big CF.

It's one thing to be a soldier, and being a father don't mix you try to be fearless but in back of your mind as hard as you try to forget is that little girl it makes you hesitant, trying to make the percentages in your favor, horrible feel scared for your health for something half a world away. Rest easy bro's I'll see all of ya on that other side Delta 2 G out
