    I need to prepare a larger motif for appliqué by using smaller pieces to build the large motif. In trying to figure out which pieces I should cut on line and which pieces I should leave a seam allowance, per your video, I’m getting quite confused. Do you ever allow viewers to send a photo of their motif to you for clarification and instruction? Many thanks.

      @@daylepeterson5101 I have a general thought process of leaving seam allowance on the sides of pieces pointing toward the center of the motif and on some sides pointing inward to another piece (obviously not on both pieces). I would be happy to look at an example of what you're working on and provide advice! Feel free to email your image to swanamity@gmail.com

    Thank you so much Swan for making this video so easy to understand with very helpful, detailed tips and even suggesting tools for cutting, saving hands/fingers from bruising and specialty needles for sewing together the petals of the kanzashi flowers. Your instructional videos are very clear and I'm so thankful for them! Other videos on youtube don't even share the needles that they use or even the brands of the rotary cutters. I will be purchasing gloves from your website which will hopefully help a clumsy person like me be safe and provide cushioning for sensitive bones during such dangerous projects. THANK YOU!!! I hope you don't have to make so many flowers...putting the needle through a bundle of them looked painful..such a painful hobby to have :( I am making these flowers for the medical team that is treating my ears and salivary glands for melanoma. Otherwise,I wouldn't engage in these crafting activities because of pressure points on fingers being triggered and 100% inducing ptosis/drooping eyelids/eye strokes..your tips for using a thimble and the correct needle with cutter was very helpful. Hopefully you can purchase a cricut machine to help you with cutting !!

      @@SwanAmity I have seen the finger trolleys on many sites, but some say that those that only have a large needle attached to a finger ring are very uncomfortable and then not used =( I thought maybe yours was made differently

      @@cynthialeslein1786 I've often seen people wearing their finger stilettos incorrectly. In my applique videos, I show my followers how to wear them comfortably, so that the joint of your finger isn't impacted. I have never felt uncomfortable in mine. 💜

    SO YOU LEAVE YOUR FREEZER PAPER ON N DONT TAKE ITOF

    • @SwanAmity
      @SwanAmity 6 місяців тому

      The freezer paper stays in until I'm ready to stitch the appliqué piece on the project. Then I peel the paper out and stitch the shape into place.

    @YomeidaGarza-ku4dx 6 місяців тому

    YOU DIDNG TAKE THE PAPER OFF HOW DOES THAT WORK

    • @SwanAmity
      @SwanAmity 5 місяців тому

      The paper comes out of the appliqué pieces only when you are ready to stitch and then it is easy to pop it out. Until you're ready to stitch, the paper stays in to keep the piece stable and easily stored.

    Why is it that you have to press needle down button every time you stopped. Does the Bernette B77 not have a funtion where when you press the button for needle down that when you stop the needle is always in the down position.

    I LOVE using the hair clips. The plastic coating does eventually break, but they are so cheap, it doesn't matter. I get 20 for a $1 at a generic dollar store. I've also discovered Aleene's turbo tacky glue, which I use to glue the binding in place, then clip...No More Shifting and having to redo areas!! Once dry, I can even remove the clips before sewing.😊
