      Yes, the low beam is accessible like that on both sides. The high beams are not. The headlight housing has to be taken off to replace them, which means pull off the front bumper. Got a video for that one too!

    What else could these be used for? I mean besides stairs. That's pretty cool to have 16+ lights come on with a motion sensor. I want them but not for stairs. Also why not mention price right at the beginning of video?

      As far as other uses, that’s a tough one. You’d need access to an attic if it’s on the ceiling of a room. For the brain and all the wires to be hidden. Maybe on a deck. Don’t know if it’s waterproof tho.

    Omg, I have a leak on the front and believe is around the front spark plugs. It looks like I have to replace the gasket on my 2007. I also have a bad alternator, so I would like to know if I should remove the gasket parts, tackle the alternator, and work my way up. I'm not a mechanic but not scared to get my hands dirty to do the job. This video here looks good with great explanation. I live in New England so the cold weather is practically knocking on our doors. A job like this would take me at least 2 days, what do you think about removing the gasket parts and doing alternator, then replace gasket?

    • @HammerWrench

      I think that’s a great plan. It should give more room to wiggle that thing out of there. Just make sure to get the right kit. The back valve cover determines it. It’s pretty easy. It was my first time doing this for Tyler’s van. Just take your time and take pictures/video.

    • @HammerWrench
      @HammerWrench 4 дні тому

      I use Forscan on a laptop and a ELM327 scanner with usb hooked to the laptop. It’ll show you which are misfiring. Or the manual way is to unplug the wire to the coil one at a time to see if it gets worse or no change. I would use either Ford coils or ACCEL. Knock offs don’t last long.

    Update Fixed!!!!! Quick run down... My 15amp fuse kept blowing for a while now, controls windows/ interior lights/ third brake lights ect and i just kept putting another one in over and over until it would just blow instantly. I found this helpful video, and sure enough, all three bulbs blown, possibly causing my constant short. i replaced all three bulbs and put a new fuse in, and guess what blows emmidiatly again. Here comes the fix. i went back to the fuse box under the driver's side, and i have a head lamp on, and i can see. i guess you would call it fuse residue or dust from it constantly blowing that stuff had build it's self up enough to bridge across from one end to the other on the fuse slot and causing the instant short 😅 i cleaned and scratched all the residue with a small flat screw driver and cleaned with contact cleaner and !!!!whallllllaaaaa!!!! No blown fuse, all my windows roll up and down. Third, brake light works now. Thanks to this post, i have fixed an issue i have ignored for years. I hope this helps someone 🙏

    • @HammerWrench
      @HammerWrench 5 днів тому

      That’s awesome! The residue is probably due to a leak at the windshield or at the 3rd brake light running to the front on top of the headliner. So glad u found it and posted!!

    • @HammerWrench
      @HammerWrench 7 днів тому

      I only changed the bulbs. The bulb sockets were soft and gooey so a bit after the video, I had to cut the wires to stop the shorting. The water remained an issue. You may could splice new bulb sockets onto the ends and solve that problem tho.

    • @gvbullyz9967
      @gvbullyz9967 6 днів тому

      @HammerWrench Thanks, man. i will have to try that. i replaced my bulbs as well, but the sockets look melted, but the connection looks fine. i will have to splice new sockets in or upgrade to the led unit. I hope this gets rid of my instant short on fuse it would last a few cycles on my driver side window switches, then blow, now it's instant. Thanks again

    This is probably the only video where brake cleaner and lubricant are not used. EVERYONE else recommends it, otherwise there's a good chance the brakes will squeal.

    • @HammerWrench
      @HammerWrench 8 днів тому

      Yes, it is good practice to use those products. This was the first brake job for the car. It was under 20k miles and the pad change was due to chatter and seizures of the rear pads in reverse. Certainly odd behavior for a new car. The change did resolve the issue but there was no evidence as to why it began.

    • @adamverbik8920
      @adamverbik8920 8 днів тому

      @@HammerWrench The squeaking of the brakes disappeared because during the replacement there was minimal cleaning of the guides on the brake pad support. But things can come back when unlubricated guides oxidize.

    • @HammerWrench

    • @adamverbik8920
      @adamverbik8920 8 днів тому

      @@HammerWrench I know about it. When you move backwards, the brake shoe touches the disk with the other edge and a small shift occurs. But if it cannot shift smoothly on the grease, it starts to squeal. This happens, for example, with doors with poorly lubricated hinges, when you can open without squeaking and close only with a squeak. Or vice versa.

    • @HammerWrench

    I did this repair….. installed new actuator from the dealer …….it worked for a couple of weeks and back to the same problem…… passenger side hot and driver side cold…. Checked the door prior to installing new actuator and it was not sticking….. I installed an inverted snap ring on the cracked end of the shaft before applying the glue… I am wondering if there is a thermostat somewhere which is not sending the signals to the actuator to work properly…. Will appreciate any suggestions….. This video is a great tutorial… Thank you….

    • @HammerWrench
      @HammerWrench 18 днів тому

      I’m not sure about the thermostat. If there is an auto climate button, then it would adjust the doors without manual input. I wonder if the stepper motor stob spun inside the white bore. That would create the issue again. If the door isn’t at the same position that the motor is calling for based on the knob, the door would reach its limit and the motor would force adjustment until it slipped or cracked the bore.

      Definitely do the X pipe. The 3rd cat delete and replace with straight pipe and the muffler delete made it WAY too much like country boy truck sound. Lots of pops on accel and decel. The X should tone it down. I’d do a Magnaflow muffler if I did it again.

    Isn't the towing capacity of a Sport Trac around 3500 to 4000#? 🤔 🎼🎵Time to do some sketchy shit Doo-Dah, Doo-Dah...🎶

      I read it was 5500 lbs for the 4.0 2wd with the Class IV hitch. The sketch factor went way up when the trailer tires left the road in a construction area. Underwear almost ruined.

      It was so sketchy, there was a drawing of it!!! lol thought I’d flat tow it with an RV set up if it broke down. Then the guy offered his trailer. How could I say no!!!
