Magazine’s Sudden Interest in Black Men for their “Sexiest Man Alive” Cover

Since 1985, People magazine has selected different men for its coveted title of Sexiest Man Alive. For years I always wonder how and why did People Magazine felt justifiably only choosing white men for this title - Especially since I saw firsthand how this society consistently peruses black men for inter-sexual imaginativeness and interest. LOL Denzel Washington is the only person of color to e...

HISTORICALLY : President Lyndon Johnson, himself a Southerner, used the phrase "we shall overcome" in addressing Congress on March 15, 1965, in a speech delivered after the violent "Bloody Sunday" attacks on civil rights demonstrators during the Selma to Montgomery marches, thus legitimizing the protest movement. I rewatched this again online, as I was only 6 when this episode came out. . in canada, we have a channel website that has throwback, so had to rewatch, as I heard the feuding clip on youtube. I know, very small detail, but I'm curious, as I'm also a keyboard enthusiast. do you know what keyboard that was that Mary bought Brenda?

    Whitney's initial arrogance didn't start out with respect for the original DIVA Miss Ross from a 1993 interview with Barbara Walters. It was later on through damage control that she had to come to her senses and give The Boss the respect she deserved and who made it possible for Houston to even exist. Diana Ross is the very foundation of Female SUPERSTAR and who was a trailblazer for all who came after her. Better recognize and learn it ! Some fool named @jamaalshelton6793 wants to say her cousin Dionne Warrick was bigger than Diana Ross. You must be using the same crack as Whitney if you think Dionne Warrick was bigger than Diana Ross, lol. Guinness Book of World Records honored Miss Ross as the "MOST SUCCESSFUL FEMALE SINGER IN HISTORY" from 1963 to 1993 based on a 30 year career at that time. Dionne wishes she had been given such an honor and so does Aretha and Patti etc. All the more reason for Whitney to give Lady Di more respect when asked the question. So Boy please stop, please. Don't make yourself look more stupid. Just stop ✋️ and the Grammys are a joke. And that's what you're basing overall success on haha, again. Please stop 🤣 smdh

    I wholeheartedly AGREE Diana opened the door for so many black female entertainers to try to emulate There never will be another DIANA ROSS . The epitome of what a superstar is . She didn’t get enough recognition. But she’s still here has raised a wonderful family . All the best to you Miss DIANA ROSS you are the BEST

    • @bryanwiley5511

      You are misguided on a huge major point: you claim she didn't get enough recognition. You really have got to state actions about that. Dianna is Worldwide Known.

      @@bryanwiley5511 Seriously ? Apparently you have a challenged IQ . Diana Ross is one of the most famous women in the twentieth century. What I was stating is she never won Grammys or Emmys which on occasions she should have. She’s doing fine. Again seriously Learn how to spell DIANA. Omg again seriously? 🤦🏿‍♂️

  • @Bochanable
    @Bochanable 3 місяці тому

    Thank you. I had never seen the part, I think it was her being interviewed after the Grammys, give such a heartfelt comment about. Without a doubt, Clive Davis references Diana as the type of Diva he would emulate. Whitney’s early hits were written by Michael Masser and her legacy as the ultimate Diva inspired Whitney’s timely legacy. When Diana won the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame, Whitney presented it to her. Apparently, she and Whitney sat together all night and celebrated with a fine vintage wine!, too bad it wasn’t televised.

      It's only because Ross voice doesn't shower you like a church voice. Ross voice is elegant, clear, soft, and mesmerizing, and the people who runs the music industry wanted her to sing a certain way, act a certain way, and record material that they wanted her to sing and therefore they took away her airplay on radio and put her music on the shelf in America after the mid 80s because she did not conform. Whitney Houston did not pose a threat to the gods who control the music industry and therefore was showcased, highlighted, and pushed to the forefront because she was more of a yes, person, when it came to her recordings. Ross took control of her career, like it or not, Ross said it's my way or no way,and she made that clear when signed that Meg contract with RCA after leaving Motown. That set the tone for the music industry to try and dismantle her career. She was not willing to deal with this crazy American music market and took it for what it's really like. Ross did not suffer a best in her popularity, selling albums, and sold-out concerts overseas. That is what's wrong with Music today. You only know what America puts in front of you, and it indoctrinates your mind to ping one person music against another. People are indoctrinated thru education, media, church, and how they think and perceive the world. It's sad! However, Ross has not lost a beat. She is still a success to this day. While Whitney has one of the most beautiful voices of any pop artists, especially during the late 80s thru 90s, Ross exudes the complete embodiment of what a Megastar is and possesses and shows the resilience and longevity that very few artists male or female has ever had in this business. She still reigns Supreme!
