Alles eigentlich nur für 3 wochen, nach der Fertigstellung, schade, es war die Königen der meere. Echtholz, liebe bis ins Detail. Echter marmor, eichenholz, echtglas, fliesen.....etc. Perpektionismus im angefangenen jahrhundert. Im Jugendstil. Nur schön. Zu schön um wahr zusein.

Great pity the Olympic went through what she did. First being stripped for a troop carrier and later scrapped. Mercifully some of the incredible interior craftsmanship has been saved & repurposed. An intensely sad saga all round. If the Titanic didn't sink would all of this have passed away without a second thought anyway, like all the magnficent sailing ships, that with present day insight could be appreciated and cherished today as the works of art they are?.

Such such beautiful rooms, it's crazy to think about how all of the designs and wood and paneling is made legitimately unlike modern day cruise ships. I'm a giant Titanic enthusiast and always will be, such a beauty of a ship.

So Titanic have 3rd class cabin, 2nd class cabin, 1st class cabin and parlor suite. And based on this video it looks like Rose was actually in a parlor suite. Her, Cal and her mother were in a much higher and expensive room in the Titanic.

I think after the Titanic future ocean liners like the ones from Cunard Line Third Class Passengers have two promenades. One on the forecastle deck and the other on the poop deck.

Titanic's first class smoking room was open each day from 8am until Midnight. The bar opened at 8.30am and remained open until 11.30pm. The way men could get drinks was that the room's stewards would approach you at your chair and ask if you would like a drink, which would then be served to you. A waiter service and not a "bar" in the usual sense of the word.

What I would really like to see is a well-thought out presentation, using an excellent computer simulation like this, of 1) all the third class cabin and public areas; 2) all the routes, both permitted and forbidden, which third class passengers took to reach the boat deck during the sinking, including 3) the possible routes taken by groups of women and children, such as Frankie Goldsmith and his mother, or Mrs. Abbott and her sons; 4) the possible route of the vast crowd of third class passengers that suddenly appeared on the starboard Boat Deck just as the bridge went under; and also 5) an account of the routes that had been appointed for third class evacuation but were not used.

As luxurious as these cabins were for their time there's still a slightly claustrophobic feel to them with the low ceilings. Competition was so intense in the north Atlantic liner trade that within a year of Titanic sinking, she had been completely surpassed in size and luxury by Germany's new Imperator class of liners. Not only bigger, they also had a new feature whereby the uptakes to the funnels were split along the sides of the ship, rather than rising up through the middle of the ship like on titanic. This gave much more space on Imperator and her sister ships, and allowed for much bigger rooms. First class featured two "Imperial Suites" both of which had 12 rooms each, including a breakfast room, private veranda, sitting room, and servants' quarters.
