Using markers with a centred-double decrease
Переглядів 2323 роки тому
Using markers at a centred-double decrease can be tricky as they will constantly move into the decrease. Try this simple trick to work with markers without having to take them off your needle. This is a very helpful technique to use with my shawl pattern - Merin - www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/merin

Next Steps in Helical Knitting Tutorial
FYI, you can't do this bind off in the round with one circular needle. There is no way to twist the needle. She is binding off a flat piece of knitting. You will have to use a DPN to bind off the circular needle.
I’ve done it plenty of times in the round but it was with magic loop, so just pull the right-hand needle tip free of knitting. However, if you can’t get the needle out of the stitches then like you say, you will need a separate needle.
This is really useful, thank you!
WOW, JUST WOW! never saw that before...so much easier! THANK YOU!
Your videos and instructions are the smartest of anyone’s by far! Keep them coming!
Thank you
Makes sense. Thanks ❤️🦋
how can i end knit .Please make a video.
I am Lori the inventor, you demonstrate my bind off very well! Thank you!!!
I really like your cast off. Came across it a long time ago now.
Didn't ask in last reply: did you originally post the UA-cam under 'Tillybuddy'?
Beautiful sock. Nice color choices.
What needles are you using?

Wow! Thanks!
falleg affelling 😊
Really clearly explained and demonstrated
This, like so many other tutorials, talks about the set up to the heel, without addressing the actual knitting of the heel. Why is that?
For most (I’d imagine) that it’s supposed to be used in conjunction with a pattern and it’s demonstrating the hard part that isn’t easy to describe in words. The heel is just the same as a standard sock toe.
I guess the thought is, is that the afterthought heel is your toe in reverse. Meaning 32 stitches, one row knit, the following row decrease 4 stitches ( one stitch each end), end with the amount of stitches you start with on toe, then close of with the Kitchener stitch.
Can you say where to get the solid ring markers from..?
They're from Fripperies and Bibelots. Think that specific one might have been from a club though.
Fabulous thanks 😊
Great tutorial thanks
Very helpful. Your closeups are good and your instructions are clear. I’ve been BO from the back and your video helped me become aware of my error. Thank you.
I like this bind off. Am going to knit a gansey and think it might look good at the neckline.
Thank you soooo much!
Thanks Jo. I have done one sock on magic loop so far. I’ve learnt extra tips from your video today 👍😊
Super. Glad I can help. It's what I normally teach at Hard Sock Cafe. Helpful to be able to share for those at a distance from Cleethorpes xx
@@hardybarn do you teach at Kate’s?
@@vitalsparkmassage ah yes. I work there, teach many of the workshops and I design the vast majority of the patterns. All the exclusive patterns in Sock Club are my designs. I design for myself too - under Hardybarn Designs xx
@@hardybarn oh that’s so cool 😍
