Thank you for watching my little history short. If you are wondering about slaves, so was I, so I did some research. Slavery is a horrible thing and still goes on today in the world. I wasn’t trying to speak in code by saying “product”. Slaves were shipped into savannah and tybee Island for sure but not outgoing that I could find although it is possible. If you have a source with stats on outgoing slave ships from Savannah, i would be interested in reading up on it. As far as the incoming slaves, I have done quite a bit of research on it. Here are the stats on World Wide Slavery and these numbers are approximate: 10 million slaves were taken from Africa most handed over to slave traders by African captors (the European slave traders for the most part were afraid to go past the coastline of Africa so the slaves to be sold or traded for things were brought to them). Of the 10 million slaves about 4% were sent to North America. (some died from the horrible conditions on the ships. It’s estimated that worldwide 1 million slaves died in transit) The rest went all over the globe. So while the world thinks the New World when they hear slavery, it was actually the least offender by far. Also, only 1.6% of the colonist in the new world were slave owners. So let’s say 2 out of every 100 owned slaves. So 98 out of 100 didn’t own slaves. Out of this there were over 2000 black slave owners owning over 13,000 slaves. Now some of these were free blacks that purchased their relatives but most were plantation owners and had 100 or more slaves. Just sharing what I’ve learned. If you’re interested in this subject I suggest searching for books and articles and research “World Slave Trade.”

Yes it is gas buildup. As yeast converts sugar to alcohol, it produces carbon dioxide. The excess is vented.

You are correct! The Talmadge Bridge. They want to raise it higher to accommodate bigger ships but they are also considering having a tunnel passage under the river instead. Its probably cheaper than raising the bridge 🤷🏼‍♂️
