    Whether the candidates clear all these assessment tests or not, from my experience so far I can emphatically say that almost all of them, whether the owner, a CEO or a mere Associate, are liars and cowards who lack dignity and integrity and therefore, never follow ethics and ethical business practices but do sycophancy to their bosses for survival! It doesn't end there. Whenever I tried to strictly follow values and ethical business practices, I lost my jobs and the reason is obvious - they, the sycophants, have the absolute majority. For example, when I found my parent company asking some employees to work for 4 clients and filling even 32 hours in 4 different client timesheets taking advantage of the WFH/Offshore model and that way cheating all their clients, a blatant violation of integrity, I brought this to the notice of the management. They justified it saying that it is a normal practice in their company and there ended my association with them. Don't think that that company is an exception. Almost all Indian companies and the international companies operating in India follow such absolutely unethical business practices. When they interview me, what should I tell them?! Sorry to say that Indians in general lack dignity and integrity. They don't respect fellow Indians. They don't believe in ethical business practices. They exploit others in whatever way possible to amass wealth.

    How would you respond if you answered 10 to how organised are you and then they asked are you always busy. It makes sense to say no however if you want to also appear as a hard worker- I would think they would want you to say yes?

    Sir, it happened with me also. I rushed to the salary. My role said Team leader but after joining I came to know that there is no team and they treat me like a junior engineer. In fact everybody in the team is a Manager or deputy manager or team leader. Nothing less than that. Plus I over heard my manager say that we have to hire ppl hit or crook. 😢

    Highly important advices mentioned: 1. Don't shy away from learning from your juniors/ anyone. Be quick to spot gaps in your knowledge base and fill them by seeking the knowledge from them. 2. Be connected with elders/ experienced people from your field and take them as mentors. (Always seek their perspective: What would they do? etc.) 3. Embrace technology and don't stop learning because inadaptibility makes you a dinosaur, and dinosaurs are in the museum. Correct the above if necessary.

    I recently took a Gallup "interview". It was online consisted of 100 questions. My hiring manager told me it used to be over the phone but they changed it to online with a timer. I finished the interview but I noticed right away the questions were trick questions that were geared at discovering how you work with ppl as a team member, questions that could trick you into saying you are the best rather than there are many skilled ppl who you work with, things like that.

      Very true ! Gallup has changed the pattern and structure of the assesment … but the basis of leadership will not change …. So it’s very important to sharpen the basics of leadership and how it applies in day to day work … if you connect work experiences with leadership principles , then Gallup is a cake walk !

    I just had an appraisal. I must say I didn’t quite get the reception as you’ve discussed from the managers. It was more a case where I had to defend myself against their perceptions of me or my work. I am damn good at what I do yet I left the room self-doubting myself and my skills. But a weak person would give up or leave the company. I choose to stay and apply what was spoken to me, within reason.
