I encountered a shocking bit of driving today riding home from work. I was leaving the M1 to join the A42 when a driver thought they'd take a short cut right through my bike!

I left for work 15 mins after Natalie this morning, but on days like today two wheels are definitely better than four.

Forma Adventure Boots Review
Переглядів 81 тис.10 років тому
These are my nearly new Forma Adventure Boots. a About three weeks old now and worn to / at work all day every day. They are an incredibly comfortable boot on and off the bike, fully waterproof and a very nice looking boot too. Highly recommended. That was my BMW GSA in the background by the way. Cheers, John

This is a quick walk around my new GSA; it was freezing and I rambled on a bit but it is a fantastic motorbike. I've owned it for a few weeks now and this was the first chance I had to post a video.

J Bovier F5 Mandolin Review

This is me trying out my nearly new J Bovier F5 Tradition Mandolin playing O'Carolan's Concerto, Fisher's Hornpipe and Danny Boy. Apologies for the phone ringing half way through!!!
We have to know what motorbiking we actually do. I agree these are not enough protection for feisty off-roading but I only tractor around greenlanes at 15mph. 90% of my riding needs waterproof, sturdy cover biking boots for fenland lanes and these are a lot better than my £55 RXL ankle boots.
Thank you. Thank German people. Best bike
What the fuck is a trawser. Do you come from a land down under? Crikey mate. I got me finger stuck in me bum
Me got me finger stuck in me bum. You bugger me bumm?
Those are bikers boots
Maynifique
do you still have it?
Hi, yes I do.
@@JohnCarr43 What was the solution of blinking ABS lightmi have the same bike in qatar and having same blinking ABS warning - DEALER may ask for a fortune to fix it
Hi Mohamad, the brake warning light should stop as soon as you pull off. Mine still flashes when I start the engine, but always goes out.
@@JohnCarr43 HI JOHN, MINE IS ALWAYS BLINKING ,, THKS FOR THE REPLY ...TAKE CARE
@@mohamadchanty7717 Have you tried holding the ABS/ASC button?
what did you do with the brake failure warning light?- i have the same bike with the same warning light.pls. advise
it means ur abs is working.............
@@EmilBurganov no , check the manual which says that it is an indication of abs failure, there are many feedback on this issue on youtube
@@mohamadchanty7717 it will disappear once your moving.
Although this video is 4 years old, I am interested in purchasing a 2006 R1200gs and your video is superb. You just let the bike speak for itself!!! Thank you for such a great video.
Whats the tune John and I would like to progress to your rusty lol
Ian Rodger Hi Ian, it’s a reel called last nights fun thank you.
Cheers John, do you like the may bell?
@@teresarodger7850 Hi Ian, she's a grand old lady and will reach 100 years old next year. I've always loved vintage banjos but have recently been considering a more modern hand made banjo like a Dave Boyle, or Clareen.
Did you bought the Adventure Sports with DCT? I'm waiting for mine to arrive. I bought an almost new Adventure Sports 2018. All the best.
Nice boots, even nicer bike!😂
those are damn hot--do you still have em???
Hi Justin, I swapped them for a pair of Sidi Adventure Goretex, both great boots.
@@JohnCarr43 hey thanx--those were so hot
Clean the mirror before shooting the video Dude!
Hey Julio, the mirror was outdoors because it was heading for the trash and the video was very much boots, mirror, iPhone, why not??? It definitely won't win an Oscar, I'm surprised that so many people have watched.
love the bird shit on the mirror haha, thumbs up alone for that mate ! And size 46 !!! ??? Are you a goliath ?
You know that's like a UK size 11 right?
Carrick Dubya The sizes for boots seem to be all over the place. I just got some Sidis and I ordered a 44 but they were labeled as a 10 US. I needed 45 for a 10.5 US I guess.
Yes mate, no problem.
Hello mate would it be ok to feature this in a compilation fairly soon? I will credit you with a link to your channel in the description as well as your channel name watermarked on the clip, cheers in advance
I liked it :) thanks for showing her off. Local classifieds had a 2009 GSA with 45k miles for $7500. Extra goodies and ohlins suspension. Didn't love the color scheme. (Silver /black one) This red is stunningly sharp, however ;). Anyhow, caught the advert just hours after he listed it last night. setup the appointment to ride it this morning and an hour later he messaged me and said he was taking the listing down! Couldn't bring himself to let go of it. I don't blame him. But Bollucks! I really want that esa. I love bells AND whistles. My contingency option is an '07 GSA. $7500 30k miles. LOVE the color scheme. The sharp looking white one with the red accented seat 👌🏻 less miles but older. Extremely fantastic condition, though. Seriously like new.Not sure if I'm gonna regret having a slightly older model though. It will be my first 1200gs(a) so I probably can't go wrong. upgrading from an '06 Dakar that I have absolutely loved for 6 yrs and don't really want to have to sell. -cheers from Salt Lake City!
Thanx for the review! But - after 4 yrs what would your review be today? I'm looking to replace my old G-boots that are, eeerrrrr, falling apart )))
Hi, this shot in a GoPro 4 Silver but I recorded the sound on a Zoom H2N
Which go pro do you have?
My dream bike very nice!!!
Your gs looks beautiful I love the red colour scheme as well. How's she holding up? Any major issue's?
Hi Jack, its a beast and actually seems to run better now than when I first bought it. I think having BMW servicing is expensive but worth it and really keeps the bike in good nick. I'm just over 40K miles now with the only problem being the fuel gauge sender which is a known problem on GS's. Sadly I'll be looking to sell / trade in soon, I do a lot of miles around town now so I'm looking at one of the new Africa Twin DCTs. A bit smaller / narrower and I love the DCT gearbox.
Has anyone compared these to the Gaerne Balanced Oiled Boot? I like that these boots fit under pants but not sure the Gaerne Balanced Oiled Boot will.

Hello from Spain, Question about Forma Adventure Boots. I live in an area were it is about 25º C (77º F ) to 32º C ( 89º F) all (!) year round Questions:How do the Boots behave in that temperature ? Do you sweat a lot wearing them during the Summertime ? Thank you. Honda Africa Twin Honda CB 1100
Hola! The Forma Boots are lighter than most and have a breathable inner membrane so ventilation is OK button not amazing. I've recently worn Alpinestars Tech 3 and now wear Sidi Adventure Goretex and Forma are somewhere in between. Not the best, but not bad.
John Carr thankx John
Thank You for this review
Was the standard model a 2017 or 2018?
Kevin H 2017 look at the dashboard
Arlene Sauder Thanks. So the 18 standard model is to get the new style dash also?
Yes it was a 2017, my dealer hadn’t received any 2018 standards. He did tell me that a lot of the AS mods are also on the standard.
How much is the price?
The Adventure Sport model sells for approx £13k
Great review
Nice review. I Love the Forma, I wear full motocross boots for enduro. But on a big 3 to 4 week desert trip they get too heavy. Sure they provide more protection( highger chance of ankle injury doing enduro), on desert trips they certainly protect the shins and feet from high speed rock deflection. They protect like everything there is always a form of compromise. They are stylish easy to clean and are super comfy. Good review. Adam.
Hi Michel, my feet are normal to narrow and I found these boots a very good fit. I would suggest trying on before making a purchase.
Hi John and thank you for your very usefull review. I've wide feet and wondering if you have to go up a size than your usual shoes size? Thank you in advance.
Hi, they're pretty wide but I would try first.
Just sold a Silverangel. Ordered an A5 from Jeff.
So after two years how did the boots last and do you still use them or did you switch it up Let us know pls
I eventually sold the Formas in favour of some Sidi Adventure Goretex that came along at a great price. That's not to say there were any problems with the Formas but the Sidi offered more protection and better weather protection, the Sidi liner comes higher up inside the boot. I would still recommend Forma boots.
Hi, I found a pair of Sidi Adventure Goretex on line for a very good price and swapped. Having said that I would still recommend Forma and would have another pair.
thank you for the info.like them boots think i will buy a pair.cheers.
how waterproof are they
Hi Derrick, I found them completely waterproof but the liner doesn't go all the way up. It stops level with the top clasp.
Alan Partridge?
A - HA!!!
Nice one John!!
Great sound. Thanks for sharing.
Bought a pair after I saw this review. They are the best. I'm no motocross racer so I feel very comfortable that the protection is adequate for my riding. They offer plenty of room for my wide feet, something I have a real problem with. I struggle to find boots that are made wide. And I could hike in these boots all day. A Big toe box but, a minor adjustment to my 250l and Shadow shifters and I was ready to go.
Do you have your panniers on as well?
I sure do!
Good review. Because the toes are so high, I've heard some people having trouble getting their toes underneath the gear lever to change gear. Could you see that happening to some?
I found this at first, but yo soon get used to it.
Thanks for the video/demonstration. Looking at buying a F5T.
I have one for sale
Excellent review! Thank you!!
Hi John, I will need several months to get half as fast you, my friend! Nicely played and the J Bovier sounds fantastic! Dan
Great review 👍
Best review of the boots I've seen. I actually want a pair of the shorter ones. I only ride on-road.
Is the liner breathable? Gore tex is, what about this one?
Good boot for mainly on road with a bit of light off roading. Sounds like they would make a good touring boot.
Note that the PLASTIC straps on the boot shown are actually sewn into the leather seams. That's a deal-breaker to me. I have a pair of earlier Gaernes which are made that way. The plastic piece became brittle and broke off right where it is sewn in. Not repairable, because the sewn-in plastic parts are not available. Wasted an otherwise perfectly good pair of little-used boots.
I have found these boots to be useless in the wet. First pair replaced after leaking badly during their first time out in the rain and the second pair exactly the same.
+Peter O'Connell Interesting. Enough to put me off, Peter.
Pants/trousers over the boot or under?
