We head out overnight in search of some ground to hold Nannys the target species was both large and small mouth Nanny, We set off knowing it would be a slow run out due to weather but it was much worse then first hoped. We made a plan B while having a tin at Outer island. The new plan had us heading to some known country only a short 50k from Yeppoon, We got there eventually and the fishing was...

When fishing doesn't go to plan have some fun and just go with it! I can't only include the good things right? I like to show what really happens. Massive shout out to Marine Assist Rescue Yeppoon!! The Evinrude i have on the back of the boat has done what they are known for and that is break down, I am unsure of what the future will bring as it is a huge outlay for a new motor.

lol…young fella’s up ‘ol Corey over there….
Worst gaff man ever
You need a pressure washer
Also what winds do you recommand npt going in got a 4.5m about anything over 1m chop can get hair if its to close together also whats the best wind direction to head to kepples
Hey mate whats the best way to check weather for a camping trip to humpy
The only think I have been able to catch out of Yeppoon so far is Wire Net Cod & Sunburn
Have any places near the islands to troll lures
enjoying your videos
Love the channel gents I’m going over to Keppel for Christmas taking my 4.5m quintrex any pointers or marks your care to share with a bloke Keep up the good work
What boat is this? Killer trip
This is a centre console alley craft 6.1 metre, it was a great trip we always try to have plenty of fun that’s for sure
If a rod is built correctly it should never break, incorrect guide spacing will do that
In so close that land is still not visible. Only in CQ is 60km offshore considered “in close”
Thanks man, are there any legal trout there
How deep are you fishing there? Nice catch!
These where all caught in about 40 metres
DOES YOUR PHONE LINK TO YOUR SOUNDER? then record screen on phone? good work for sharing!
Hey mate, yeh the Garmin Gpsmap Sounders live record to your phone there will be some more of this to come when I make it out when it’s not raining
If you go out 100km you will get a few legal size fish
Good to see :) Just for my curiosity what distances roughly are you heading. Just wondering for my fuel capacity in my boat :) Thanks
Usually about 30-40km
Hey mate. I love in rocky also and do a lot of fishing. I'm new to using the chart and using contour to find new ground. Would love to have a chat and maybe get a couple of tips on what to look for? Any help would be appreciated. Regards Keedan
Hey mate, I’m not a good teacher I show people stuff as I go but honestly the best thing you could do to learn all the basics is to do Ryan moodys sounder courses. It will cost a few hundred but think of the fish you will catch compared to currently 👍🏻 If you do send specific questions through Facebook or Instagram I will try to help you out but the best thing would be to do Ryan’s courses
Hey mate I live in rocky also and do a bit of fishing. Only just recently by bought a decent sounder and just wondering if I could get some basic info on finding ground using contour lines on the chart. Kind regards Keedan
Nice mate…! Without giving it away obviously, roughly what area were ya fishing?
North east about 35k just searching new ground every trip, it makes for tough fishing sometimes but we usually get a few nice ones in the box 👍🏻
@@NothingFancyFishing nice 1, I try to do the same but always end up and the normals… Finlays, outta rock and the like.. good fish mate. 👌🏻
Venture alittle further and you will be surprised at the fish you catch, we are working towards having a “milk run” that way if sharks intrude we can move not far onto the next large school and put together a nice box.
Where you guys fishing at
North east of Yeppoon mate
Where’s the reds?
Nannys mate 👍🏻
YEAH BUDDY!!! What a trip! Thanks mate
Good to see ya getting out even with the bad weather around
The fish keep biting even when it’s raining and windy
Skull Dragging Fish in Is Equivalent to Shooting Deer with a Bazooka, Great to see some sport in a fishing vid🤙
Thanks, I’m not one for skull dragging unless the tax man is around then it has to be done to keep the quality in the boat rather then fish heads
This is QLD mate. Unless you want to get taxed you load up and get ‘em in as quick as you can.
I’m impressed you caught anything there. It’s not what I would call a good fishing spot at all.
I’m catching fish there because I’m fishing on fish drifting over them I was unlucky not to get the large mouth Nannnys to eat. Good fish are closer to the islands then people think
@@NothingFancyFishing so close to the Keppels you can almost see them. Honestly everyone knows you have to go at least 60kms out to catch anything of legal eating size,
@@aus2045 that’s an interesting concept, definitely travel 60km 😃 the more people drive over the fish the better ones I’ll get in close. Tight lines 👌🏻
@@NothingFancyFishing we did 120km east for 3 Trout & a Red Throat. Around the islands and even out 30km we only get wire net cod. Been hoping for a mackerel But they all seem fished out
Wow that’s unlucky! There is a lot of smart fish inside the islands very big trout and catching them is extremely difficult I don’t try. The dumb ones are just outside the islands but the spots aren’t as easy to find as our wide, it’s all great in a video but I’ve spent 6 hours at times just driving to find inshore fish. It’s an investment if you can catch fish 30km out and save $150 in fuel each time it becomes worth the trouble.
My tip for the Keppels is go elsewhere as the dishing there is pretty rubbish
Nah plenty to catch mate you just have to work hard sometimes
Sorry for the 30 second freeze after cod catch, I have trimmed it out waiting for UA-cam to action. Please just skip forward when it freezes. thanks for watching
Where is that? I’m pretty sure I fished that spot before but yeah if I haven’t I just wanted to know where
Hey mate, this vid was done over at humpy island off Yeppoon very known location which is why I decided to do the video there 👍🏻
@@NothingFancyFishing yeah you should try miall island it’s good
That would probably be the only place off Yeppoon I haven’t been to squid 😂
@@NothingFancyFishing yeah it’s actually really good it’s my Local secret
Such a long way out there. Pitty around the islands are all fished out
We didn’t go to far, having Riley on board a wide trip definitely isn’t “wide” but the islands aren’t fished out it’s just harder to find the fish I have been spending hours searching inshore finding a few nice spots but it is difficult just have a crack and enjoy the day on the water fish is a bonus
@@NothingFancyFishing nah I need to catch fish. I have to many “nice days on the water” I’d actually like to catch something occasionally. But can’t catch anything out from Yeppoon
@@aus2045 spend the time finding them and fish on them you will end up with plenty of fish 👌🏻
@@NothingFancyFishing ok, I’ve been going out about once a month for about 6 yrs. guess that’s not enough to “ find them”. Might have to go 3 times per month for another 6 months to get one doggy mackerel
@@aus2045 if you haven’t been able to get fish going out that often mate you need to look at what you’re doing. Personally I’m looking at charts tides times etc everyday when I catch fish I note the time of day tide and moon. The more work you put in the better return you will get.
Nice quick little session
Yeh Mate! it was a great little session and then headed home boat and all cleaned by lunch.
Love the vids mate! Keep them coming!! I'm about to be checking out the kepples! Any off shore marks would be great! 🤣
Hey mate, I’m glad you’re enjoying the vids. I won’t share offshore marks but start your search in the shipping channel and you will soon have some for yourself
Great stuff mate. Some quality fish. Pitty about bag limits in snapper haha.
Thanks for the support, It’s ok Bag limits are for a reason and without them we wouldn’t of found a second great spot, it all worked out in the end 👍🏻
Hahah that’s gotta hurt getting busted off at the end 😂
I think its worse that i got to see it
What setup are you running?
i use an Amped 2 Barra rod with a stradic 5000 on 30lb braid 50lb leader and i tied on a wire trace because i got a few bite offs earlier in the day.
Good video once again mate! How are the snaps 🤤 when are we going fishing hahah
Cheers mate, they go great!
@@NothingFancyFishing anytime mate! I wouldn’t know how they go ☹️
@@haydenbeyer4462 we didn’t either these are our first and honestly I’m hooked! I’m going to actively target them through winter this year 👌🏻 good on the chew and a good clean fight
@@NothingFancyFishing I’ve always wanted to chase them in shallow water but until then any snapper will do! haha. Are you in Gladstone mate?
I’m in Rocky and fish out of Yeppoon, there is some ground north of gladestone towards the port for snapper in shallows.
hey mate which island is best on western side and how far out
The islands are about 17km out and they are all good it really just depends on tide and time of day.
Should cover your outboard on dirt roads does save dirt and dust going through your motor we used glad wrap and duct tape
Your not wrong! I was actually very surprised with the outcome when I got home no dirt went inside the motor cover luckily! Thanks for the tip I’m glad wrap I’ll give it a go next time I head to Stanage
Fuckkkkkk some 6 metre flattys
Good vid man. Liking the intros to the vids and all. Killing the game!
Cheers mate, now we just need those big reds to get on the chew!
Bloody awesome mate. I did not know that is why they were called trigger fish. Fantastic intro
Pretty cool hey, it may not be why they are called that but it does make sense. I’m glad you like the new intro 👌🏻
Hey mate going up there so keen any wide spots for big fish
Start in the shipping channel and move out from there, you will find plenty of ground
Nice session mate! What did u catch them on? Wasnt sure if it was bait or lures
Hey mate, all of the fish in thus video are on better tackle dropper rigs with bait mostly squid 👍🏻
Looks like Peter needs oxygen after landing that red .
Tried a few times, still nothing. I think you must have caught them all
Ill go for a look next time I’m near humpy I’ve always found fish on it maybe just the wrong part of the tide, did you have a search around it? Usually the fish don’t sit on the actual mark they are normally up current so you need to work it out based on the tide at the time.
@@NothingFancyFishing yeah I covered all that area looking for any fish or bait aggregations, sounder was clear. Some decent structure which I fished with both fresh baits and song plastics, no good 😌 yet
Nice, I’ve tried for these out around the Keppels but never found any. Maybe a bit fished out like the mackerel?
Also for the squid just give it a month that’s when they are going to be thick, if you see me on the water come over say hello I’ll give you a hand on the day 👍🏻
Brilliant mate. Riley is a natural. Did you end up finding out what ES kept calling you for?
Yeh mate, my phone pocket dialed them twice from the console, Yeppoon police had a good laugh at me and some jealously that I was on the water. Gota give them props they called back a number of times to ensure I was ok ✅
Nice work mate 👍
Thanks guys, we will have to get out for a session again without bad weather 😂
That's for sure mate. That would be great.
Love ya work!
Thanks mate! Appreciate the support
Went and tried there, all fished out now by the looks.
Nah it’s still a decent spot mate the fish just could of been holding just off best thing to do is sound around in an s shape all over it until you find the fish, it may take 10 minutes but if your in the right spot you will be sweet! I got a few nice Grassys yesterday 👌🏻
@@NothingFancyFishing thanks. I sound around a lot lately. Doing lots of recies looking for ground and fish. Started doing trips out to about 40-60km lately but still no decent fish yet. Might have to go further maybe.
