Nothing remarkable about this
Very much indeed
to be fair i think the Avengers team did a great job of their female selections for the show tho...... a good example is the villianess/madwoman in the classic episode " The Joker " !
At 3:02 My head exploded! What is this geezer on about?
I just noticed their poses mirror each other when they first sit down. Such a perfectly matched duo. 💕
Joachim Fuchsberger was still very young here. A nice interview. Grüße aus Deutschland.🇩🇪
I love Diana ,ever
She was my favorite actress.
Patrick, once told me a story about when Lorne Greene and he used to act on stage in Toronto, I do not remember the name of the troupe, he told me this around 1988.... Every time they would get a 'pittance' of pay, back then, Lorne would try to cajole Patrick into giving some of Pat's $ to him, to invest in a fledgling company. Patrick would always, politely, decline. Patrick said, to me, that when Lorne went off to Hollywood, for that "silly Bonawnza thing"(trying to get his accent) that Lorne was doing 'quite well'! "You see, Allen, that fledgling company was/is...........................................I.B.M. ! Lovely man, was Patrick Macnee! 🪐🌠
Joachim Fuchsberger was a very popular German actor in the 60s and 70s and later he got his own talk show where he proved himself as a marvelous interviewer and great host.
She's dead
and the others ?
you cast people for a 1,000 years and you would not come close to finding a better actress for that part than Diana..
The queen of thorns! I loved her character on GOT but didn’t know her before than. Time traveling with UA-cam led me here. She was a Fox.
You should definitely check out seasons 4 and 5 of The Avengers. Diana was fantastic as Emma Peel. 💖
In her prime she was smooth as silk
I've always loved Diana Rigg ( Mrs Peel ) so Thank you for posting this interview I they had such a great chemistry on screen & I love Diana's reaction at the end of this interview, Thank you again
Did Patrick take a sly look at Diana legs, how wonderful magic everywhere.
Mr fuckenbuger
So in Germany the Avengers is called "Shim Sham and Baloney "?!?!?!?
🤗 Excellent! (it's "Schirm, Charme und Melone" in English : "Umbrella, Charm and Bowler Hat"
Sehe gerade "The Avenger " einfach Klasse unsterblich !!!!😥
Does anyone know why she is called "Emma?" Because of her "Looks" the guys would just say "Mmm" thus "Emma" and her birth name on the show was "Knight" her married name is "Peel" As that's what all the guys wanted to do with her clothes, "Peel" them off. And there you have it. I watched in the 60's. Do not forget Honor Blackman, A most gorgeous & incredible woman, & the first to pair up with "Steed" who was a Producer at the time whom they convinced to do the show. C'ya, CJ-4-JC 4evr
emma peel : m-appeal ? What would then be M ? 🤔
Her name was based on "M Appeal" with the M meaning "man" ... Thus, "Man Appeal"
The interview is unbelievable; awkward; the interviewer a bit pathetic.
interesting interview patrick had with conan obrien 1998 i think - i wonder if he spent time in germany prior to 1949 via his navy service and thought best to not mention it...... Joachim was very polite and hardworking
Why don't the Germans speak English as we won the war.
They DO mate ! In this video the guy had to translate for the old folks only . . . .
And that’s why today the avengers remake was a bomb when you use that cross eyed Emma Thurman and that guy what his face? No contest this was the classic original
God bless you Diana in heaven what a stunning beautiful perfect English woman she was ❤
I think Patrick Macnee is the most handsome man ever. Love him to this day at 49 yrs.old. He was so gorgeous. My favorite actor of all time. He was absolute perfection in my book. Love him for eternity. The Avengers was the greatest show ever. He was amazing. Such a gentleman. Miss him so much.
She could have perfectly act as a diva yet she’s exquisitely natural and spontaneous.
This was a riot - considering that every German in the 1960s understood English and could speak it!
B_llsh_t ! Even today many german folks - especially at the countryside - do NOT speak english properly - if at all !
Hot Tara w.a.m.
Legenden! Alle 3
Diana Riggs (Emma Peel/Olenna Tyrell) having now gone, the next superbly English actress I have always adored is Julie Andrews (Mary Poppins/Maria Von Trapp). Please, someone tell me she's doing great and is still alive and well.
Very bizarre interview complete with full German translation and shot of camera moving in on dolly
I feel like they are trapped in part of good humored detectives forever...😷
I just love the idea that Germans were interested and appreciated the show and actors. The format was as it was. Perhaps subtitles were not suitable. What I can say is that translating like that while running the interview is quite an achievement and a mark of skill. I was impressed with the overall format and the desire to provide a feel of the event in progress. Naturally the interplay and reactions of both Diana and Patrick were wonderful. This is a gem, and a slice of 1960's Germany that I am glad to have seen and has been captured.
All three in heaven now
Oh, I loved the avengers! I watched it faithfully, I must say this was a very unusual interview. That must’ve been difficult to do for them. 9:02
seems like a prequel for his scissors
maybe he shot this to use on that other one
I remember seeing this on ZDF DANKE
Those Lime green chairs...💚
Diana Rigg was gorgeous the Emma Peel episodes of the Avemgers were for me the high point of the show. I found out the Beatles were even "Avengers" and Emma Peel fans. I know in 1967 Paul McCartney stopped at Diana Riggs home to give her a copy of "Sgt Pepper" which had just come out and said "I just wanted to meet you". Supposedly the cover for "Abbey Road" had ties to the Avengers. According to the son of the director of "The Hour That Never Was". I was curious what she found so funny about Macnees reading the last German line he spoke, but it has been years since I took a German class and not sure what he was supposd to be saying. MacNee supposedly frequently forgot his lines but Rigg reportedly never did. Luckily the Emma Peel years were filmed on 35mm film so the 50+ YO episodes still look good.
He said "viel Vergnügen", but as the umlaut doesn't exist in English, his pronunciation is, well, let's call it creative. But still understandable.
Thank you! I was puzzled about what Dame Diana Rigg found so funny and surprised because I don't believe she spoke German, although the English pronunciation may have been on the teleprompter or written card, whatever they used back then.@@davidwuhrer6704
Is there there a blu ray box set of this at bestbuy?
it comes with the criterion 4K remaster version of inland empire!
Elle a aussi de jolies gambettes Diana !
WITH THE TRANSLATION and everything it was tiresome
Before the age of subtitles?
What a sweet good natured interview considering the War was only 15 to 20 years prior. The jovial conduct makes us see, people don’t make wars, Lunatics do!!
During wwll, Joachim Fuchsberger, as far as i know, Fallschirmjäger, so the two men could have killed each other.
