Double Gyroid in Soft Matter
Переглядів 41 тис.3 роки тому
An unexpected ‘black swan’ defect has been discovered in soft matter for the first time. Using an advanced microscopy technique called slice-and-view scanning electron microscopy tomography, Dr. Edwin L. Thomas, professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, and his team of researchers have uncovered a twin boundary defect in a soft polymer that has never been observed before...

Coherent Twin Boundaries
Переглядів 9 тис.5 років тому
Coherent twin boundaries are areas in which the material’s internal structure pattern forms a mirror image of itself along a shared border. They occur when crystal formations on either side of an atom-wide border line up without disorder.
MXenes: Vitamin C is key to protection of exciting new nanomaterial
Переглядів 7245 років тому
In work that could open a floodgate of future applications for a new class of nanomaterials known as MXenes (pronounced “Maxines”), researchers from Texas A&M University have discovered a simple, inexpensive way to prevent the materials’ rapid degradation.

Thank you so much, it is very helpful for me!
I am a student of industrial & Applied chemistry--i can i got a job , please can anybody helps 🙏
Please are we supposed to find an advisor before applying to the PhD program ?
Please for an international student, am I supposed to find an Advisor before starting my graduate application?
Man i am a material scientist and engineer, so lost
where is the link for external scholarships?
We do not have a page for external scholarships. Presumably you have in mind ones like the NSF, Hertz, or DOD fellowships? If so, you will have to visit the website of the appropriate funding agency to learn more.
is majoring in material science and engineering makes you and engineer or scientist? cant be both,, someone answer plzz
Quick question! If we are applying to the Ph.D. program with a B.S. degree, is it true we will earn a M.S. degree along the way? I was told this was the case by TAMU faculty I've spoken to, just wanted to verify. Thanks for the videos, they are very helpful! -Michael
You do have the option of earning a MS along the way to your PhD. However, you are not required to do it.
@@michaldemkowicz4536 I see, thank you!
