Welcome to Virtual Production Insider
Really high quality video. Appreciate it.
Great video as always! Excited for this upcoming course!
How did you add custom clothing to Metahuman?
I used a post apocalyptic clothing pack from the Unreal marketplace, and they have a great tutorial on how to add it. But essentially, you go into the Metahuman blueprint and add the clothing by plugging it into the skeletal mesh asset for the body, legs, feet, etc. (each clothing item gets imported aa a skeletal mesh) Then theres one additional step in their tutorial that helps setup the clothing for movement
First of all , I really do appreciate your effort and thank you for being different from other ones who make tutorials on this subject, most of them just say do this do that with no explanations about why we have to do those stuffs. This video felts like a college or university class with emphasizes on details . Beside this , I hope you make a long and in depth tutorial in which you make a full short cinematic from scratch for artists who cant afford buying paid courses . I`m an artist from Iran and we have so many problems for making the money(due to horrible Rial to Dollar rate) and also have many problems for transferring money to foreign countries because of the sanctions we have here(thanks to the Iranian evil, damn , dictator government.). I really do need such course and tutorial from a pro like you and I`m sure so do many other artists. Thanks a million again👑🍻✨
Gold quality here, would be interested in a course for sure.
amazing video, so helpful. thx
hi i created a nice short cinematics but i realize that my characters need expressions changes and im not using metahuman im using those paragon characters, how can i edit the face expressions in my characters? nice video btw!
Thanks! I’ve seen people animate the faces of Paragon characters using 3rd party mocap plugins, but this requires additional software and setup. On the flip side, you could take the head of a Metahuman and put it on the body of a paragon character, and then animate the Metahuman face using livelink. There are UA-cam tutorials that show how to put a Metahuman head on the body of another character
Amazing video, simple and clear to sharing your knowledge, I'm interested in you course.
Thanks for the tutorial, definitely up for the course.
Good one 🎉
Really great video! Concise and clear! Thanks a lot for creating this channel and for sharing this knowledge! Would also be looking forward to your upcoming course! My two cents would be to have more chapters and design the course around ICVFX and VP techniques and gotchas rather than only focussing on cinematics as there aren't many good VP and ICVFX courses out there but there are tons and tons of cinematics courses :)
great breakdown man, cant believe i can just skip storyboarding now with a pre viz
There are so many tips, tricks and just great information in this video. Do not sleep on trying these out! Sign me up for a course!
Nice video and channel, instant subscribed, do you palanning to do a longer video about Previz from botton to top? Because there are almost zero in depth video about it, tips and trick, kamera, movement, fast iteration for producion, etc..
@@balazsbelanyi213 thanks! That’s kind of the idea behind the course i mentioned at the end of the video, which would cover in-depth setup for Previz and cinematics. Definitely too much to cover in one video, so it would be broken into multiple lessons detailing the whole process from start to finish. If that’s something that interests you, please let me know!
This is so in depth! Thanks for sharing
ADD SOME BLOOM AND LENS FLARE AND NOISE
Great work! I know it's not a tutorial but an overview, but where is this hollow box you checked @2:52 ? I cannot find this option as it will speed up my work flow not having to do Boolean every time, Thanks!
thanks! you can find the hollow option in the details panel under "Brush Settings" when you have the object selected.
Awesome!
Subbed - absolutely awesome work thank you for sharing David!
Hey there! Such a great video. Thank you for sharing! Any chance you could name some sci-fi packs worth the look? Like the ones you used in this environment to help block out the first stage of the scene (panels, corridors, etc.). Been struggling getting through this step and I'm not really a good modeler. Thank you!
thanks! and sure thing. One pack to check is out is the "Modular SciFi Season 1 Starter Bundle" by Jonathon Frederick on the Unreal marketplace.
FOUR HOURS??!! You make it look too easy 🔥 PS: thanks for the shoutout!
Could we see a review of the virtual production of "The Mandalorian" production?
@@JFrailey we plan to do this in our VP breakdown series. However, the next episode in that series is covering Fallout, so stay tuned!
Booof booof y re contra boooof, de las mejores explicaciones que he visto. Dibujé maestro, dibujé 👏👏👏
you are pronouncing greebles wrong should be spoken more like "greeblies"
Since when?
@@arthritic since george lucas invented them
Nice wok compositing all that
very cool video btw, this stuff should really have more views. the batman is definetely one of my favourite movies, especially when i found out how it was made
other films and tv series that used Virtual Production: 1899 (netflix), Fallout (Prime Video), The Mandalorian, Westworld (hbo), The Silent Sea (netflix) and Dune part 2
See? This is awesome! What I would LOVE to see is something like a studio converting Alien 3 audio drama written by William Gibson into a movie using unreal. That way you don't need to worry about how old Sigourney, Michael and Lance have got. The audio already exists and it would play out a hell of a lot better than the Alien 3 we got back in the 90s.
Iv been pro in Unreal 2 years and had no idea about this. Was using post process volumes. Nice tip mate!
cool
Looks super cool
Hi. I would like to open a mini virtual production studio. I do not have conceptions what kind of instruments i should buy. I currently learning engines like UE, blend and video editing tools. Can you help me?
As well as, what's total amount of money will be spend in average.
Very inspiring! That texture effect that can be included to rectangle light was new to me. Thanks for sharing.
Greebles ha been used by on set graphic teams or in VFX as “Kitbash” now days 😊
I would also love more info on the light function. Very awesome
Very cool! It's nice to see the old and new used in the film. Very clever meld, it looks like. Nothing has to be either/or. Well, except at home. Don't really have LED walls and fabulous miniatures on hand. 😂
Nice work the lighting is insane!
@@UnrealSensei thanks man! Means a lot
The result is amazing! I'd love it if you could go more in-depth with the light functions.
Awesome! Don't know if the corridor is the right project, but it would be cool to see an expanded tutorial that does something similar but works in the process to use it in virtual production.
@@JPLAVFX this is definitely in the works! We plan to detail a start to finish workflow for creating 3D environments for ICVFX shoots with an LED wall
Great video as usual David! Love the final look.
Would love a tut on using take recorder in gameplay mode for animation. I've never been able to figure that out. Thanks for these videos. Glad UA-cam found you for me! 😊
Cool tip!
Brilliant! Never knew this existed. Very helpful, thanks

Hey brother thank you for that tip im just getting started and that really is a nice tip.
So they didn't shot this in gotham. this is disappointing. I won't be watching the batman 2 😠
@@SalmanAhmed-vu5xp sorry to be the bearer of bad news 😂
Hi David, thanks alot for the video. We have a new tools set that works in Unreal Engine for Virtual Production hope you like it ua-cam.com/video/cLfBIB3G3W8/v-deo.htmlsi=eIgBLgYNZKtMZhm2
Choice #1 - An animated assets w/Take Recorder tutorial would be fantastic. Choice #2 - Regarding the MetaHumans - knowing how to reduce their polycount would be great. Many times I could use a stand-in off in the distance with just a static pose, but wasn't sure the best way to optimize them. Choice #3 - Doing the animations and adding them to Sequencer would be my 3rd choice.
Thank youn for make the content 🎉🎉
You can actually convert a SKM to a SM within UE5! Just remember to duplicate the Mannequin first.
@@OverJumpRally good note! Have you run into any issues using that method?
