Games IRL in CT. We just had an event yesterday and a player who drove all the way from Philadelphia, PA won the Grand Prize PSA Shining Gyarados slab!

Due to the way it is worded. "This power can only be used when a Pokemon evolves." And "This power can't be used if Eevee is Asleep, Confused, or Paralyzed." When a Pokemon evolves doesn't say "when one of your Pokemon evolves." Essentially nothing states that it can /only/ trigger during your turn.

Nice! I was inspired to build this deck as well. It's definitely more affordable in comparison to the scizor/steelix builds (since Noctowl is pretty cheap). I'm grateful to celebrations for reprinting rockets zapdos as well.

Unfortunately, I do not. The Kabutops deck was the precursor to the Zap Trap deck.

Each of the deck profiles on my channel are decks that are actually viable. We are working on more lists all the time and have a lot more to put out that just aren't on video yet. Looking forward to posting them soon.

@@PapaJumpluff what would you recommend are the best staples to pick up? I see many decks play cleffa and energy removal. A small list to get an idea on what is good and what isn't could be helpful in my journey to build my own deck.

I actually have a video that will be going up next week about good staples to pick up. The most important ones are Computer Search, Item Finder, Professor Oak, and Cleffa. Those will be in every deck for sure. Gust of Wind and Energy Removal are next on the list. Warp Energy has proven to be an essential special energy for every deck as well.

I'm glad you enjoy it. I truly think it is a great deck for players at all skill levels. It can be aggressive and defensive. I think Magic players looking into the wotc 20 format will especially like how midrangey the deck is with a lot of hand-hate reminiscent of Thoughtseize.

Baby rule. Baby Pokemon still can't use an attack against other baby Pokemon unless you roll heads (even if the attack does not deal damage).

The Metal Blissey player here: I would say that all the decks that have deck techs here are among the better decks. Most of the true “rogue” decks haven’t been shown yet. The format is fairly simple in concept, key cards are cleffa, the standard trainer base, and different support pokemon. The decks that consistently do well are Blissey, ZapZor, ZapTrap, Gengar Move and Light Dragonite.

I have a few videos coming through the pipeline that I think will help new players with deck construction. Hopefully they will help draw more interest to the format. As far as a tier list is concerned, I think that may still be a ways down the pipeline. It would be entirely too subjective with the amount of data currently available. Do you have any specific questions about the format or about certain decks? Either someone in the community or I could try our best to help you out.

@@PapaJumpluff Thanks for the response! No specific questions. I am interested in the format but have no baseline whatsoever. I'll continue to follow and see what videos you have in store for newcomers like me. In reference to the tier list comment, almost all tier lists are subjective. That's what makes them fun to watch even if they aren't 100% accurate.

There is a great video on Shuckletcg's channel. Check out the "Intro to WOTC 20" video if you haven't done so already. He does a nice job explaining the general sense of the format.

Thank you! I appreciate the positive feedback. Hoping to keep getting more deck profiles every week. There are a handful of players who haven't done any yet, but are regularly playing weekly! It's really cool to observe the Base-Skyridge combinations unique to this format that players are organically coming up with while actively participating in events.

I can do an intro video, but I think Shuckle TCG has a really great one already. My editing skills are abysmal, so I don't think it'll be up to par with his. Additionally, I have no experience or interest in WOTC20+JP. If anyone was to start posting about that, it wouldn't be me.

Players trade at the shop often. Mostly trainers and special energy, though. Pokemon tend to stay in players' arsenal.

At the moment, I prefer not to use deck list links. People will often just skip the video if there's just a link in the description. If the video is skipped, viewers miss the strategies discussed in the card for card analysis from players who regularly pilot the decks shown. I like to give players the spotlight in these videos.
