Sad that it no longer works, but 44 years was an impressive lifespan, proving that high quality truly meant something back then. Hopefully it will be replaced with either a new Carrier (just like the old one), or a Trane/American Standard (very high quality), or a Rheem/Ruud/Friedrich (decent quality but budget friendly), or a Lennox (just like the one next to the old one). Hopefully it will not be a York or a Goodman, since those are truly bottom of the barrel.

I didn’t think I’d ever see a central air conditioner with a blower fan. Definitely not something you see everyday. Great finds!

Ok, I just posted on one of your other videos that I thought I'd seen them all..... Until THIS video! That is one unique unit! The church I went to growing up had a big Lennox unit that had a belt driven condenser fan. I was so fascinated by it as a kid. For the life of me I cannot find even an old photo of that model. I'd love to see one again!

The house next door to me had a Friedrich like that. Best I could tell, it was a 4 ton, from 1971. I'll look at my archives, I'm pretty sure I have a video of it, before it was removed. I had a cassette audio recording from the 90's of it running. Had a real loud compressor. That would be great if these still worked.

I had one of those installed in my childhood home, built in 1972. Man, that unit cooled awesomely. All the homes in the neighborhood had one. Not sure if any are left.
