Helicopter pilot come drone pilot, first play with filming. Room for improvement but not bad for first time, even if I say so myself!

    What a lovely loco! How much extra was it to include a tender? Being able to ride onboard a 5" loco (rather than riding behind) really takes it to the next level.

      Thank you. We have had the loco for a while now, can’t exactly remember the cost at the time. The current price list shows in the £3600 mark.

    Beautiful loco! What's her turning radius like?

      @autopower1971 2 роки тому

      Sorry for late reply, only just seen your question. It’s a minimum 10ft radius.

    What is the name of the red paint what an awesome colour

    • @autopower1971
      @autopower1971 3 роки тому

      The colour is crimson lake. We had it matched to a colour sample from the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railways loco Winston Churchill used to be before it’s current livery.

    Did you buy the tender from maxitrak or did you make it yourself

    • @autopower1971
      @autopower1971 3 роки тому

      Maxitrak made the tender, it’s the eight wheel version.

    12 days to build! Fair play to you my friend. I always have to plan ahead whenever I do a build. Any more than a couple of days and it begins to feel like a chore! I'm debating the regular Hornet next. I've built 12 Tamiya kits in total but never done a buggy!

    • @autopower1971
      @autopower1971 3 роки тому

      Thanks Jim, It only really took that long as it was the first I’ve built in years and I was only really doing a couple of hours a day. I also wanted to savour it. Don’t the Frog and Midnight Pumkin since, the chassis gets bone in a day now.

      @@autopower1971 Savouring the build time is important. That's half of the attraction for me. I don't get these "speed build" videos that seem to be popular. They're taking all the fun out of it!

    Great video! Brought back many memories. I was a Team Linda member during the 1990s rebuild.

    So how do you get the smoke from the Welsh steam coal?

  • @mattseymour8637
    @mattseymour8637 5 років тому

    Great stuff. What type of coal is the larger coal?

    • @autopower1971
      @autopower1971 5 років тому

      Larger coal is Welsh Steam coal too.

  • @mattseymour8637
    @mattseymour8637 5 років тому

    Good to hear. I agree has to be some smoke! :) so you use Welsh coal for the smoke then large or small versions?

    • @autopower1971
      @autopower1971 5 років тому

      The smaller coal is usually smokeless, the larger is the smokey coal. A mix of both if we are low but if not just the smokey coal.

  • @mattseymour8637
    @mattseymour8637 5 років тому

    Maxitrack coals good.. Think that's what I've got. Where do you get your bigger coal you break up from?

    • @autopower1971
      @autopower1971 5 років тому

      The larger coal we get from a coal wholesale called Blackwells in Earls Colne, Essex. Got to be smoky coal, smokeless in a steam loco just isn’t right! 😏

    Thanks. Beans or grains?

    • @autopower1971
      @autopower1971 5 років тому

      They are beans. Maxitrak in Staplehurst, Kent can get it. Sometime we get larger pieces and break it up.
