    Great video.. thoroughly enjoyed it! What a nice guy.. That’s an awesome offer! I live in Crystal River, and usually fish offshore for grouper, snapper and what not… but would love to try my hand at fishing insure for reds and snook! Unfortunately, I may not be limber enough to fish out of a kayak!

    Just rewatched this video a year later and son of a gun if that isn't me in the kayak behind you. I have pictures of that heron landing on that and my newer kayak, and on a side note I caught a tarpon just to the left of where you were catching the black drum early this year.

    Hey bud, looking at fishing ozello for the first time this coming Saturday. We plan to launch the kayaks at the John Brown ramp. Any pointers on which direction we should head? Also thinking about picking up some of those dart spins if you have any insight on colors we should get for this time of year. TIA!

  • @juniorbiel24
    @juniorbiel24 2 роки тому

    Was just out there this Saturday and didn't catch a damn thing. Do you travel north or south of the launch point? And what kind of lures do you find to be the most successful? I was thinking if I had some cut mullet I would've caught at least one fish.

    • @redfishlife727
      @redfishlife727 2 роки тому

      Cut mullet works well also, as far as north or south of the ramp. Both areas produce fish depending on weather patterns.

    First spot you fished a lot of boats fish there for the black drum, during the colder months there are a lot of big trout in there. The second spot behind you using the same net as you have I caught a snook that wouldn't fit into it plus reds into the high 30's. Sorry to see you no longer post vids, I've enjoyed all that I have watched so far.

    I guess the rest of the grit eating population that uses 30lb+ leader on their rods and catch fish all the time, are the acceptation?

    How big do they have to be before you can keep them and what were you using for bait?

    • @redfishlife727

      15 to 19 can only keep one over 19. 5 per day per person!!!! And all these trout was off of shrimp!!!

    Nice rig and you did great a $2200 for it! I have a 10 year old 14' Jackson Cuda yak that I love. I am getting a little older now and want to put a trolling motor on my kayak. Not sure if I'll go transom mount though. I also have a cargo trailer converted to a camper that I put the kayak in and camp/fish around central Florida. So far it has been mostly saltwater, but I want to start doing some freshwater camping and fishing as well. I did a few videos from a while back but nothing recent. Hopefully that will change in the near future as I am planning a trip to Ozello as soon as the weather and tide Gods allow it. What is the model number for your trolling motor?

    How strong are the tides at Ozello?

    • @redfishlife727
      @redfishlife727 2 роки тому

      They can be very strong at times . Good tide charts are helpful in planning your trips in Ozello.

    good eavning. this is Mr Bear im just learning ozello nice place i also fish Brasher park . got my kayak year and a half ago learning that to.in regards to soft plastics i have not cought one dam fish yet. like to fish in comming tides .i live in hudson ae you still fishing.

    • @redfishlife727
      @redfishlife727 2 роки тому

      Regarding soft plastics in Brasher Park, go with a constant retrieving method, but slow roll as much as possible. Just enough to stay out of the grass. I prefer paddle tail versions. Also, in my experience there, outgoing tide is your best option. Just don’t get stuck, it gets really shallow.
