So there's something interesting about this episode, and it starts to show how Cheng can change the past, by changing something unobservable. Since nobody knew whether Dodo was alive or dead, his fate was something that could be determined by Cheng's actions. Think of it kinda like Schrodinger's Cat. Since the box had yet to be opened, you can kinda think about it as if Cheng got to choose the future that becomes reality. It's a really neat way to allow Cheng to still create an impact in the world without just changing history without thought behind it. Just something that I thought was interesting, I'm glad you're enjoying the show!

I’m a bit late but the full versions of all songs are on Spotify! I really reccomend listening to the full version of Vortext (S2 OP) because the first time you hear the chorus it’s in reverse, but the full version includes the chorus both in reverse and not in reverse (the 2nd time it plays)!

So sad that they can not safe the boy in the past.. If at all, they have to wait 3 years when they are back in the present. I like that Qiao Ling has a little more screentime. I love this trio

why every episode of this series makes you think that the past changed .the past is always gonna be the past and this is extremely hard to do with time travel stories usually they explain it with parallel world theory when the past of that timeline affect also the present and not the present of the original timeline the time traveler came from to avoid causality paradox

Season 2 end song gave a lot of clues of the story. It's using a very famous 1895 novel "The Time Machine" by H.G Well as hints to the Link Click stroy. A movie adoption of the novel is about a man who built a time machine to save his wife, and her name is "Emma".

Link Click Season 1 has some story that are inspired by true incidents.

To clear some confusion , the two were unofficially married together and that's why the couple already have children. They just never have the blessing & a formal recognition of the girl's family. Some may wonder why the father would only accept a son in law who can defeat him. It is going back to some of the old Chinese martial art school tradition, only the strongest can take over the martial arts school. Since the father only has a daughter, the son in law has to be the strongest (defeat the father) in order to take over the martial arts school.

6:40 in orjinal chinese dub lu guang said where that punch coming from. thats why he can predict/dodge all of this. But for some reason they didn't voice those parts in this eng dub. I don't know if it's a dubbing mistake or it was forgotten. I would also like to mention that You have already started watching the dubbed version, but I do not recommend English dubbing for other anime because the emotional transfer and some cultural scenes are not pleasant due to the differences in both language structures and intonation from East Asian languages. For this anime, the Chinese language may sound different at first, but you get used to it after a few episodes and I know that there is a Japanese dubbed version, which is more suitable than the English dubbed version for the reasons I just mentioned.

I dont know if I understand it right. I think they got together and got a child. (The grandchild he was talking about). They just didnt had a proper marriage. He wants to receive the blessing of the father. (If this is wrong i dont care. I like this version and I don't want them not to be together. :D ) Also at the credits were different stories of other peoples. At the very end they say something like „take a lot of photos and remember the great time“

If I rmb correctly, I think ep5.5 was supposed to be in earlier eps but they aired ep3-5 first since it was also anniversary of the big earthquake that happened in China. So thats why the cop isnt in this ep.

Reacters sometimes get frustrated with Cheng Xiaoshi for attempting to change something in the past, but most of the time, his decision have positive affects. Saving the camera was one of them. In the end, although we knew saving the mother could have been bad for the future, we all wanted for the mom to be saved when Cheng Xiaoshi crawled out of the table to get the camera for her (but relieved when she still ended up dying). Its easy to think like Lu Guang, cool and logical, but in Cheng Xiaoshi's position, it has to be the hardest to be able to be cool and logical. He has all the opportunities to help them, but can't. I cant imagine the feeling of guilt he faces when he chooses not to help all of them. Cheng Xiaoshi isnt dumb, he's emotional and has every right to be. His empathy, as much as it can cause potential harm, has also caused positive aspects that makes a huge difference to whoever he possessed.

Without spoiling just know that flash of light will not be the only time you see that. I think one of the reasons why this show touches everyone so deeply is the fact that I think everyone who has lived any kind of life has run into these things in their life so we can all relate. We have all done something we shouldn't have (Episode 1), We have all forgotten something important (Episode 2), We have all wished we had done something done something we didn't (Episode 3-5), and now we have all let our pride get in the way of what is right (Episode 5.5). Let me just say the hits keep coming. I hope you both enjoy. : )

As I understand it there is a 5.5 Episode you should watch because it is canon. From what I heard episode 5.5 was actually supposed to be Episode 3 but because they wanted this episode to air at the same time of the earthquake they shifted that episode to 5.5. These episode were so emotional that my wife decided although good didn't want to continue after episode 2. This series is also one of my all time favorites. While this series is not underrated as everyone who has watched this either loves it or thinks its good it is under watched which is a shame.

12:00 lu guang let the mother die. He knew this will happen and lied to Cheng Xiaoshi. He doesn‘t want to mess up the timeline.

This episode broke me when I first saw it. Probably the hardest I've cried over a tv show since Anohana. It really made me think about just how traumatic this job must be for Cheng Xiaoshi, having to live through these horrible things through others, knowing he can't do anything to solve it. I also really love that they were able to save the camera. It was a nice touch to show that Cheng did save SOMETHING, and that his efforts weren't necessarily in vain
