Переглядів 1,9 тис.4 роки тому
Both tweeters encountered magnet shift . The magnets were realigned and reglued and Replaced with new 26mm silk diaphragm dome Tweeters voice coil . Tweeters were from a pair Mission 710 Speakers Please note the Seas H107 tweeter originally Dont come with ferrofluid , i put it in for good measure. The 26mm silk diaphragm dome Tweeters voice coil also fit the Seas 211 which i test fitted also.

How to disassemble a 1 inch / 25mm SEAS h211 ferrofluid tweerter for cleaning/change ferrofluid Mission 770 speaker just arrived a few day ago , decide to open up the tweeter to check the ferrofluid before pluging in to test drive. Infact the ferrofluid is almost dried up ,as you can see from the video at the end , that most of the ferrofluid went the tweeter diaphragm on the face plate.
Why didnt you clean the old baked ferrofluid out of the magnet air gap a refill with ferrofluid?
yes, i did
Hi Petermi. Seas’s website shows that ferrofluid was not used in the H 107 tweeter but your video shows you adding new ferrofluid. Can you explain this? Thanks.
They work with or without the ferrofluid, is just my added measure. Thanks
How do you know which voice coil wire is + or -. I have replacement 750 coils just like these and they are not marked to show either RED or BLACK....+ or -? I hope you can help - no other videos to see for advice. Many thanks!!!
you can 1st trace the wire back to the crossover , the + is connected to a capacitor. Mission use grey wire for - ,grey with black strip for +. if you find both black wire, the black wire with word on it is alway +
@@petermi1468 Sorry, you miss understand. I have bought the voice coil & silk domes to re-fit myself, but the extremely thin wires either side of the coils are not covered, they are bare, so I am unable to determine which way to solder them for 'plus & minus'. Can you help? Sorry I was not so clear last time.

what the video say, the inner copper wire is +, the outer copper wire that wrap around the coil is -
@@petermi1468 Thank you so much for your reply my friend. I can now attempt to carry out the repair myself knowing that the polarity will be right. Thanks again for replying so quickly, that was awesome, Brother.
Hi ! thanks a lot for the very interesting video I have two questions 1) what is your opinion about these speakers ? 2) are the internal white wires in this unit original ? regards, gino
I lately have tested 10 sets of speakers (big and small) but keep coming back to these Mission 751's with the metal dome tweeter, there is also a version with softdome which is called 751 Freedom. Be aware these tweeters have ferro-fluid and this could dry/gunk up.
@@franksmit9725 hi thanks a lot for the kind and very valuable advice Yes i have seen the freedom version as well The woofer looks very similar I will try to listen before buying But they look gorgeous indeed Thanks again and kind regards gino
hi , sorry did not saw yr msg , answer 1 , The mission 751 speaker is great little speaker , good in mid and high , but lacking in bass, 2) everything is original , the purpose of opening up the tweeter is to clean/change the ferrofluid. if you happen to find one , grab it
@@petermi1468 hi no problem and thank you very much for the very kind and helpful advice I see an overflow of old but good speakers on the market because new generations spend their time on the phones they aren't interested in hifi like I was I am 58 I am always looking for nice small monitors I think that low bass can be served better by a separate box I understand these 751 could be great satellites maybe from 150 Hz up?
@@gino3286 sure ,why not . their used with their bigger brother mission 753 or 752 speakers , or just standalone bookshelf speaker. other mission speakers you might want lookout for is 770 mk2 , 737r , (white face) 700 , 707 usually this 2 can get them cheap because of rotten foam surround.
