Welcome to Remove Before Launch - An automotive blog, vlog, and channel. Bringing you video of my general musings and opinions of cars and anything automotive that I am lucky enough to get my hands on.
This is just the start and the channel will develop as we go.
Whilst the focus will be on everything automotive, I also have a fascination with business and entrepreneurialism. I’ll be trying to drill further down into the people who work in the automotive industry and talking to the owners of dream cars and how and why they got them.
We’re looking to collaborate with other petrolheads, owners and anybody with a unique and interesting car or story. Please don’t hesitate to DM me if you would like to talk.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoy the videos and look forward to what the future holds.
Please subscribe to my channel, your support will help me take this channel as far as I possibly can.

Great review....is the grey color a stock option or was this car wrapped?
Feel like buying one a sticking a engine in it 😂
@@GTT1988 agreed 👍
It’s an electric car bro. Missing the point entirely saying it needs an engine 😂
@@KOL630 not missing the point, making a point.
I wonder how u would load a panzer 3
Like gran turismo
Apologies for the sound drop during the driving. YT didn’t like the music I overlaid so took that sound out🙄
this car better be in GTA 6
@@xSLIMxSHADYx agreed!
The best ever
Good review but you didn’t say what the 0-60 time was!
Thanks. Yeah, that's a good point! So the official figures claim about 5.6 seconds to 60. It was tricky to get a decent time as the weather was cold and wet and the airstrip tarmac was awful. My time was about 6.5 seconds but I would expect it to be quicker in better conditions and on decent tarmac. I wouldn't doubt the official claims.
Those rear doors are actually an homage to the rear air intakes on the 5 Turbo penned by Marc Deschamps.
Really good video, informative and entertaining. Please make more similar videos. A video on Volvo XC60 would be good.
@@zaynchowdhury851 thank you, that means a lot 🙏 I really do need to try to get my hands on more cars. Unfortunately manufacturers won’t help as I don’t have the numbers so I have to try to beg, borrow, rent or buy. I’m working on it.
I got one of these but the zetec spec, I got it remapped which made it less sluggish, but a great car I think
@@smashytracks744 that’s interesting. Did it iron out the initial pull away reluctancy?
Lot nice cars around still
Good runs I wonder what gear the civic was in when it did these runs?
Thanks. The first video we did was in 3rd and 4th. This video was run in 2nd gear on both cars
I was never a big fan of french cars, but I absolutely adore the A290
Hi just looking to buy one Today I saw a 1.6 cdti diesel and 1.4 turbo petrol elite, both is 2016 but petrol on is 1£ expensive, what is the best option? What engine is more reliable? I’m do about 70 miles a day motorway
Check out the forums to get an idea on reliability between the two. The diesel is pretty solid but you do get issues with the DPF. I’m not familiar enough with the petrol to advise. With that mileage the efficiency of the diesel might pay off. Depending on how you drive the petrol could return something in the mid 40’s to the gallon whereas the diesel should be mid 60’s. I tend to find smaller capacity petrols struggle to return decent figures if you drive them quite hard. Also do a comparison based on the cost at the pump and keep an eye on what the government might announce in the budget. It could impact one more than the other, who knows at the moment🤷🏻♂️ I would say however that generally people seem to be happy with whichever variant they go for so it probably comes down to general driving preference and runnings costs if you’re mileage is going to be higher. I’ll pin this up and see if anybody else has any feedback.
@@RemoveBeforeLaunch I got a diesel I’m happy with the car so far
@@alberto.coutinho that’s great. Hope it goes well and you enjoy it 👍
Would you buy this BMW or e-class 2021 coupe premium plus? I can't decide.
Difficult for me to answer as I’ve never had the chance to drive the Mercedes. From what I’ve read the BMW always has the edge on the driving experience. However the Mercedes will be the slightly nicer, more comfortable place to sit. From my experience the BMW was very comfortable, a very nice drive and I loved the engine and drive train. However the Merc being a coupe will offer a slightly different proposition. Maybe not as practical but will probably feel a little more special. It’s really going to boil down to personal preference and what’s most important to you. And unfortunately only you can answer that. I’ll pin this up though, perhaps somebody else can give their thoughts
@@RemoveBeforeLaunch thank you very much for your reply.
VTEC NO!!!! 😂 gutted hope you get back on the road soon .
@@davidwalker7389 all sorted. Dodgy refit of a fuel pump recall by Honda. Nothing damage or broken, just bloody inconvenient!
Nice review. My 2019 992 C2S that I’ve had for 2 years will frequently see 33-35mpg on a motorway run at the speed limit and get 25mpg on mixed driving the rest of the time (I don’t hang about 😉) I use it every day, school run (6 & 7 year old) weekly shop, golf club you name it, it’s great! Would love a manual GT3 Touring though. One day!
@@plasticbadger1663 Thank you🙏 Interesting to hear, you really are using it as the daily! I like your choice regarding the GT3 Touring 😍👍
@@RemoveBeforeLaunch I can also confirm that after 9 months of 2024 992.1 C2S driving, I routinely achieve 35mpg on the motorway at and around 70-80mph in good conditions.
Is this car 0 road tax?
@@newlife2281 yes it is, for now at least🤔
McLaren P1 or McLaren Senna. Two of my favourites. Which would you choose?
All anyone actually needs are the first 3911 models-base m base, Carrera S it at most the GTS... To get "the Porsche Experience". GT3 is too firm for city and highway driving. AG's the VC Turbo S is overpriced. Only mod I'd do is the valves.. Open then up 100 pervert in Sport and Sport Plus and swap on another exhaust muffler. Nothing obnoxious. Why Porsche only s the valve to 20 percent b in Sport/+ I don't know... Stock this are five.. REMEMBER we drinking on city/suburban streets that are great from ideal AG's not"race Potter'd... Making it faster is pointless... Redundant
Very cool 😎.
This car was absolutely insane. Seeing a McLaren P1 (slightly modified😉) being trashed and drifted up the Goodwood hill climb was awesome! 😂
I just saw it in Houston it was incredible
I fell deeply in lust with the Datsun 240/260/280Z cars back in the day. Yep, they still got it😊 What a beauty ❤
@@ginnysmalls144 yeah they still have 👍
I've got a 2017 1.6t petrol sports tourer with nearly every extra apart from the rear camera - absolutely love it and got it for a bargain price at six months old. Those alloys really look nice.
@@andylove9961 nice, glad you’re loving it. Always liked the look and shape of the tourer 👍
Get rid of the DPF, then the engine would be good
@@bubblehead46 yeah, I’m hearing more and more about this being a problem area. It seems a clean through only does so much before the warning light will come back on and a decent, long drive may clear it but only for so long. It does seem to be an annoying reoccurring issue for people.
Do frequent oil changes, use the correct 🛢 it's also important to use good quality filters ie man, fram, fleetguard, Donaldson. The cheaper filters have poor quality elements which go hard and deteriorate rather quickly
@@philsa9402 thanks for the advice👍
Yes i agree a pretty good car. I bought a 65 plate 1.5 diesel zetec in impact blue 2 years ago with 54000 miles. Now has64000 mile's had absolutely no issues regular service i do use diesel additive to help egr and cat not getting clogged
Good to hear. Mine’s been trouble free as well. It’s not going to blow your mind but it just chugs along nicely doing it what it needs to do. Interesting tip about the additive. Haven’t tried that myself, will look into that👍
I drive a Hyundai i30 CRDI, I also feel like the weakest point of that engine is when I have stopped a a roundabout. Sometimes need a bit too much rev to get enough push. But you get used to it, and other than that its fine.
@@mjolnir_swe it is frustrating but as you say you learn to drive around it.
Extended warranty is a scam, ive been told today by bmw i need to pay them £3000 to diagnose the fault as it involves an engine strip. Ive reporting them to trading standards
@@eatdahl Well if you’ve got a full warranty and they’re still charging you then I don’t blame you. I would be taking that further as well. Hope you get the right result!
@@RemoveBeforeLaunch im paying £242 a month for extended warranty and then they hit me with this saying i serviced 3000 miles late even though there is nothing in the idrive to show a late service and they said i didnt use genuwine filters even though it says in the warranty that genuwine or equivalent part is fine and a bmw specialist fit it and put the services on idrive. Ive submitted a complaint now to motor ombudsman
Getting a 2021 m440i w 45k miles, thinking of passing on the warranty. Thoughts?
@@k.m.f369 Firstly, nice car choice👍 Difficult to say. Overall the reliability seems to be pretty decent with those engines and the general mechanics. Mileage isn’t too high and it’s still a pretty new car. I assume it’s not long out of warranty. Which means any issues should’ve been dealt with. Are you getting warranty with the car? Is it from a BMW dealership? Also, if it is a dealer ask them for the service report on the car to see if it’s had any reoccurring issues etc. You can still ask even if you’re not buying it from BMW. If you get a warranty with the car then you could see what you think for the first few months. Then take a view and if you have any concerns you can take a warranty out before the initial warranty term comes to an end. The thing is, as mentioned in the video, what I paid for the warranty over the time I owned the car wasn’t far off what I could’ve probably got the repairs done for. However if they turbo had gone a couple of years sooner then it I would’ve been well ahead. I would base it on the overall quality of the car, the service report, how you think it’s been looked after, how many miles are you going to do in it, do you take it easy or do you want to get the most out of the performance and how long will you be keeping it for. If you want peace of mind contact BMW and ask them what the warranty options are. For a newer, lower mileage car the monthly amount might not be bad at all and it could be a good option. If however they’re asking silly money then I’d consider putting that amount into a separate interest account and let that build up. If anything does come up you’ll have a chunk towards it, and if you get no significant issues, you’re quids in and it can go towards you next car! Not financial advice😂😂 Sorry it’s not a definitive answer, I’d hate to advise one thing and the worst happens. Whatever you decide I hope you have an awesome experience with your new car🙂
Green one please.

I believe these are all Lister Bell STR models. Pretty much the same thing though.
Shredded tires 🎉🎉❤
@@jamespugh yeah, would hate to see the bill for replacements!😳
I have the 2016 model,120 HP, and I totally agree with your thoughts,a really affordable car . Try all season tyres. Kleber Quadraxler 3 by Michelin .205 55 R16. Runs like a charm. Under 80 Euro per unit. I get under 4.8 diesel liters/100 km (around 50mpg) on highway ( 130km/h) A/C on. My car is fitted with brake callipers on rear axle.
Thanks for the comment and feedback. I’ll definitely check those tyres out 👍 Interesting to hear you are getting about the same MPG. I wonder if the 2016 cars switched to rear disc brakes or I’ve heard it can be country specific.
@@RemoveBeforeLaunch , it deppends on engine type. 1.5 TDCI is manufactured in 3 variants : 95 HP, 105 HP and 120 HP . I guess, the lower the engine power, the braking force needed is also lower. Thus, on 120 HP we have rear callipers, on 95 HP we have drums.
