I love listening to her. I met her once, and she talked with me like we were old friends. Mary Wilson was at the same event and recognized me from an event the night before and she joined the conversation. I was in Motown bliss, and enjoyed both ladies.

They always forget The Isley Brothers. They're MOTOWN PRODUCTS as well.

I have seen Martha with the Vandellas in concert in Birmingham UK. I love her music. I think that she has great integrity and objectivity. Her recollections of Motown are really insightful, respectful, and appreciative of other people's talents. Her interviews are like warm fireside chats. John Sivorn

@27:10 Martha Reaves is an amazing women, why she hasn't written more books, I'm quite sure it would be a best seller, a guideline or road map for new artists wanting to create or recreate a genre of entertaining that'll last an eternity. We will always live you Martha Reeves and the Vandellas.

Specs is a great guy but he will not tell the true story. Lee Alan a Detroit WXYZ jock opened the school in 1970 and after a year or so, said he could not operate a school for kids who "could not read". He sold it to Specs and the rest is history. Spec DID not open the school first as one is led to believe. I am a 1972 graduate of the School when the tuition was $995. I worked in small towns and did work in Detroit in the later years.

I so LOVE Ms. Martha Reeves, Dancing In The Street💃🏿& Heatwave are 2 of my ALL-TIME FAVORITE SONGS!!! Sadly her voice was damaged pretty badly, but fairly early for her age at the time Im referencing, which was several videos of her on talk shows singing & being interviewed in the 80's, where she was nomore than 30 sumthn, yet her poor voice sounded like perhaps she'd gone thru sumthn medically that severely damaged her vocal cords. Again, since back in the 80's she started sounding so badly, voice extremely shaky & very weak, but nevertheless, she's an amazing storyteller & a noted, respected part of Music/Motown/Black History.

Such a gifted and prolific talent this woman.

She had the finest female voice at Motown. I wouldn't recommend seeing Martha perform now. Her voice is sadly shot to kingdom come and is frankly embarrassing to watch.

I still can not get it. Almost every singer of the Motown, even the backing vocalists, had a strong voice and a wonderful personality, they looked good,BUT only Diana Ross made a big solo career afterwards! I really do not get this! Martha, a passionate vocalist with lots of soul!
