Drano Lake Salmon Fishing 2022 - Bank Fishing for Spring Chinook (Springers)
Переглядів 15 тис.2 роки тому
The springers are running full steam on the Columbia River! This made for an amazing few days of fishing out at Drano Lake, Washington. I was able to get some amazing footage of some quality fish being pulled into shore. This was my first time out at Drano, so it was definitely a learning experience. After spending some time on the lake, I know exactly what I need to do to increase my chances o...
Trout fishing with a bobber on a Dam (Detroit Dam and Lake, Oregon)
Переглядів 2,2 тис.2 роки тому
A few buddies and I had a fun day fishing at Detroit Dam and Lake here in Oregon. We caught all of our fish using slip bobbers, Gulp Salmon Eggs, and Powerbait. This video is definitely a little shorter than usual. There is one thing that UA-cam has taught me, it is better to have too much video footage, than not enough!! Lesson learned!! :) Thank you for checking out the channel! Enjoy
Silver Falls State Park, Oregon | Hiking the Trail of Ten Falls

A day of hiking at Silver Falls State Park in Oregon (Trail of Ten Falls). After a morning of fishing, I decided to go hiking with my favorite person on earth, my Mom! We were glad to have been dressed in all of our waterproof hiking gear, because it ended up being a super wet day at Silver Falls State Park. I was able to document our hike and get some pretty stunning footage with my GoPro Hero...
Oregon Rainbow Trout Fishing - Catch and Cook (Zatarain's Pan Fried Trout)
Переглядів 3052 роки тому
Spring time trout fishing in Oregon is always a blast. For this trip, a few friends and I went out to Henry Hagg Lake to catch some Spring stocked trout. After a day of fishing, I prepared pan fried trout using Zatarain's Fish Fri Seafood Breading Mix. This turned out to be a real tasty catch and cook dinner, and overall a great day of fishing. You may notice some audio issues throughout the vi...

Beginner's Guide: Salmon Fishing Plunking Rig Spin n' Glo (Salmon, Steelhead)

This is the beginner's guide to a basic Spin n' Glo Salmon plunking rig.
You ever catch salmon there on bobber and eggs?
I bet a coho bolo would slay there
Is this kind of like a drop shot for bass fishing?
Dude great video!!!
Catchin fish in a barrel 😂
Thanks for the upload.
Love it! Keep the videos coming.
HA! Love the video. I recently moved to Astoria from the South East. Love the razor clamming tutorial. Been a couple of times and after watching your video i started nailing them!
Great video. So few address the basics. Coming from another part of the country and trying to learn how to fish for Salmon. This video has been extremely helpful.
Keep pluggin away !
Definately gotta knock Detroit off of my bucket list too
Good realistic vid ! Do you think you can fish with bobber there ? I never been there
It's combat fishing at its finest, so bobber fishing probably won't work. Depending on when you are there, you can be pretty close to the people fishing next to you.
A uni knot is easier to tie and just as strong in lighter mono. It also won't slip like a blood knot. IMO. Great video and channel name.
Keep grinding! for that first king salmon 💪🏾
New sub, from BC ! Great video
Howdy for BC, enjoying you videos. I appreciate your persistence to keep going! Right on
Thank you! The persistence definitely paid off when I caught my first spring chinook. Unfortunately I didn't have my camera with me that day! I guess the fish were being camera shy! I've got an Instagram with pictures of my catch Freshwater Fishing Syndicate. New Fishing video will be out next week!
Lots of people will actually use up to 3 spin & glows on 1 pole to better the odds
Also it's really hard to cast these spin & glow setups so I would strongly suggest investing in a kayak to help get your setup out where you want it to be without getting all tangled. Doesn't have to be an expensive one, just one to drop it out easily.
Four is better. Lol
We missed out last season clamming at Long Beach, Wa. But definitely will be going next season. Going to try chowder recipe, for sure. Great video
What size spin n glo and hook combo for chinook? Thanks for video.
The sizes vary, but after this first year my go to will be size 4 spin glo (and Size 2) , and 1/0 Hooks.
Haven’t got razor clams in years
They are definitely abundant out here! On a good day we can limit out pretty quick. A decent amount of meat as well.
Appreciate this video! You did good.
Thank you!! I appreciate you checking out the channel!!
WOW that Chowder looks Fantastic! Being from New England I think this one would win some Clam Chowder competitions for sure! Thanks
Thank you so much! It turned out amazing, and got even better the following days! It was some pretty heavy duty chowder so a bowl definitely did the trick, lol! Thank you for checking out the channel and leaving a comment! I genuinely appreciate it!!
Woo yoo!!! Good work !!
Thank you brother! Editing this video was some serious work! 🤣
I APPRECIATE THE GRIND . You'll get em . I have fished Bass and other warm water species into my 40s now Im in Yamhill co.,OR and trying to learn everything Salmon Steelhead . Don't get out as much as I'd like. These days ,We are lucky to have any opportunity to bring these home. ✌️& Tight Lines New Subcriber #198
Hey thank you!! I appreciate you checking out the channel,, and thank you for the sub! I ended up catching my first springer on Monday, but I didn't have my camera with me. I guess they have been camera shy for me lol. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to bring one of these amazing fish home. It was all worth the wait, and I am eating good for the next two weeks! Good luck to you this season! Fish on :) 😀
I’d swap those 3 way swivels to plunking spreader bars for casting. Idk if you tangle much when casting those 3-ways but the plunking spreaders so a great job of preventing tangles. I’m Not an expert but I’ve had action everyday I’ve gone out this year. Good luck.
Hey thank you for the tip! I actually swapped the bottom three way swivel for a spreader last weekend. I finally got my first springer! Unfortunately I didn't have my camera!! Maybe thats what I needed 😆
@@freshwaterfishingsyndicate7456 congrats, I’m fishing now and just bonked a nice one maybe 20-30 minutes ago 🎣
It’s a grind but all worth it. Keep it up
It has most definitely been a grind! I landed my first springer last weekend! Forgot the video camera though. Lol, that's the way she goes
Great video man! Appreciate it!
Hey thank you!!! I will be coming out with an update video eventually with some new tips!! Thank you for checking out the channel!!
Hell yeah!! Love to see it man.
What city is that fishing spot next to
This is near Portland, Oregon.
Not to mean, But you should learn to cast holding the line with the same hand you hold the rod with
Hey I appreciate the tip. Maybe I'll give that way of casting a shot this week!
If you hit southern Oregon , I’ll get you a little more educated.
Columbia is still open locally. 2 fish daily limit. Sauvie Island has some good beach fishing and it's a lot closer than Prescott. I will be out there tomorrow and Sunday most likely.
I was stoked when I read they increased the bag limit on the ODFW News page! There's a tributary that I plan on exploring Sunday a little farther out. I might plunk on the way back, or hold off until Monday. There are so many different options, sometimes it's hard to decide what to do.
Wow I’m amazed that everyone is throwing spinners and wigglers. I figured it would be a bobber and egg show down there. This video was super informative though thanks for sharing! I appreciate your struggle man I just caught my first salmon last year and it took me 50+ hours. The whole season I only caught two coho but it was such a rewarding feeling. I was lucky enough to get my first springer last week on the Yakima river as well. Beautiful hatchery fish and she absolutely swallowed the eggs I was drifting. Keep at it man I want to see you catch one out of that toilet bowl. It would be awesome to see one smash a hard bait.
I feel like there is definitely a learning curve when it comes to bank fishing for salmon, especially with all of the different techniques. It's only a matter of time though!! Congrats on the springer, and the coho!! I was out exploring last weekend and stumbled upon a nice little creek, with some nice looking transitions. Im thinking about testing my luck with bobbers and sand shrimp.
You can make your light spinners go down deeper with just a kidney sinker a couple inches above the spinner.
Good call! 👍 I was looking for inline weights yesterday at sportsman's but had no luck. I'll have some by this weekend for the bobber fishing I've got planned!
Thanks for the video! Keep it up! I admire your persistence! Keep at it and I know you'll get your fish!
Right on! Thank you for the support!!I feel like the odds are getting better every time we go out. We've got a lot of fishing to do, with many more videos to come!! Thank you for joining me on this adventure! 🙏
Awesome state park. Cool video as well. Keep it up 👍🏽
Thank you ✌️ You have any good recommendations for beginner trails for alpine lakes?
How long will the tuna balls keep? Can you refrigerate for days or freeze?
I have not personally froze them, but I have read other fisherman do. I usually make enough for two weekends in a single batch.
Did you catch one? I’m working on my first chinook as well
I actually had one on the line last weekend!! Unfortunately, it ended up breaking my line. There are going to be some modifications to my plunking setup this weekend. I am going to be increasing my leader line to 30lb test monofilament. Hopefully I get another shot this season 🙏
@@freshwaterfishingsyndicate7456 Right now I’m running 50 Lb Main 20 lb leader
What app were you using to see how deep the water was?
I was using GPSNAUTICALCHARTS.com . I typically just google depth charts for reservoirs or lakes prior to heading out. I was using fishbrain at one point but the application was extremely buggy.
@@freshwaterfishingsyndicate7456 thank you I appreciate it.
@@03quoox no problem, thank you for checking out the channel! Good luck fishing!!
@@freshwaterfishingsyndicate7456 I'll drop a sub too and thank you. Went yesterday there was nothing in esticada lake hopefully there's some in here.
@@03quoox Yeah we fished farther down on the dam. We seemed to have good luck right next to the trash can using slip bobbers set at about ten feet and powerbait. I know all about getting skunked. We are out on the Columbia right now and haven't caught anything. Gotta put in the hours if you wanna catch fish!!
Nice video. I appreciated the component items in their packages in the background. It displayed the bead sizes which was super helpful. Hope your salmon fishing is taking off.
Hey thank you! The numbers on the Columbia have exploded in the last few weeks. Went out twice last weekend with no luck, but I probably witnessed a total of 20 pulled in between boats and shore fisherman. They just reopened the Columbia river here in Oregon so we will be going back to plunking this weekend!! I'm feeling like it's going to happen soon!! Good luck to you
Awesome dude! Let me know when you’re more north side we can collaborate for a video! I’m more North Puget Sound. This month it’s all about that Spring Chinook! Great Vid!
I have been chasing the Springers this month as well! I still haven't landed one, but it's only a mater of time! Have you had any luck yet?
@@freshwaterfishingsyndicate7456 naw dude not yet, gonna head up Friday if I can get my rig all prepped
@@edwin6709 They just reopened the Columbia and the numbers are still pretty good. We are going to give it a shot this weekend too. I was thinking about making a trip up there eventually. I have read the steelhead fishing up on the Olympic Peninsula is primo. You do any steelhead fishing?
@@freshwaterfishingsyndicate7456 haven’t had the chance for it yet, I just started last year fall so all this new so it’s been a journey. And I don’t have a boat so it’s all bank fishing unless I’m paddle board fishing lol
I don't think there's any Chinook in there. There Kokanee
I thought that too! I had to look it up for myself when I got home. Check it out www.dfw.state.or.us/news/2021/01_jan/011321.asp If the link doesn't work just Google Detoroit Reservoir Chinook Salmon. Here's a bit from the article: Detroit Reservoir anglers reminded to release Chinook salmon January 13, 2021 SALEM, Ore.-Anglers are having some success catching kokanee in Detroit Reservoir lately, thanks in part to the new bonus bag limit of 5 kokanee. But ODFW is also hearing from anglers that targeting kokanee is resulting in quite a few inadvertently hooked juvenile Chinook salmon too.
Now I'm glad I didn't catch one!
Is there not enough floatation with the spin n glow and maybe an additional corkie?
That's a good thought! 👍 I think I'll add more fish pills this next time out. I'm going out this weekend!
Where you at? I’m on the rogue.?
Majestic scenery, video is just gorgeous.
It is an absolutely beautiful hike! Thank you ✌️
Will be going to hagg lake this weekend for the first time, just picked up some garlic scented dough too haha!
Nice, thats my go to!! The lady at the Bait shop out there said a guy caught an 11 pounder using garlic too 😳 Good luck!
Fish on!
Good luck! Random!!
Good luck! Random!!!
Good old hag lake
Nice looking Fish!
Thank you!
Give up on salmon fishing?
I will never give up on salmon fishing!! I'll get one eventually and will definitely be posting a video. Right now it's just a matter of when that happens. You still like the videos even when we get skunked?
@@freshwaterfishingsyndicate7456 love the videos even when you get skunked I have fished at Prescott many times and have got skunked it’s very time consuming but it will happen at some point when they open the river back up it should be on fire
