The Apogee website recommends Anker products. Personally, I haven't used Anker products, but I'm using UGREEN's adapter. As you may know, the problem is that when using a USB-C adapter, you can't use all the features of the headset, which is a disadvantage. The Sennheiser AMBEO SmartHeadset, designed specifically for the iPhone, is an app available on the App Store (apple.com) that helps you control your earphones well. This app is not supported on Android phones. Therefore, there is a disadvantage of not being able to use all the features of the AMBEO SmartHeadset. Especially when connected to a MacBook M1 Pro, 3D recording support may or may not be available depending on the software. In my case, the Voice Memos app, which is supported by default on Mac, only allows mono recording, but 3D recording is supported in the video editing program Final Cut Pro. If a product specifically designed for USB-C is released by Sennheiser, these issues may be resolved, but it is still unknown when products supporting USB-C will be available. Indeed, As Apogee recommends (and honestly there aren't many other options either) I ordered the Anker adapter and to my surprise, only the left microphone picked up sound.. so no binaural recording. I used Audacity software (on Windows PC) which should have a setting for stereo, but there was no option. I contacted Apogee, they tested this and were able to get stereo sound. I thought maybe the adapter is faulty so they sent a replacement, but same story, just mono audio. Now I think maybe it's the headset's fault. I tried it on 3 PCs with the same result, both Windows 10 and 11. Now I'm curious if the white version behaves the same. I don't really need most features the app has, stereo recording, normal/low level rec and transparency would be enough for me, which can be controlled on the remote. Also I wanted to future proof it for when Apple adopts USB-C on their iPhones, so I'll still be able to use these amazing (for the price paid) microphones, either with the new iPhones or with a laptop, tablet, etc. I'll also probably try the UGREEN adapter as well..

Thanks for your comments. I purchased three black Ambeo Smart Headsets as backup in case one gets damaged. All of the black versions behave identically. I'm unsure if the white version would perform better. I have some doubts about it. I have high hopes that we can utilize either Anker's or UGREEN's USB-C adapter on the iPhone 15 to enable compatibility with Apogee's SmartHeadset and MetaRecorder apps. Let's hope for the best!

Hi. I bought it from Walmart ($50). Amazon sells the black version for $65 and the white version for $50. I watched another youtube video that said the black version is better than the white one.

Do you know if there's a difference between the cheap and expensive ones? I've bought the cheap black version from Amazon a couple years ago, sound wise seem to work well, connects with the app and updated the firmware. I've recently recorded some concerts, they're on my channel if you're curious how they manage loud environments. Today I ordered the white version, I'm curious if it's any different.
