Hello Katspace :) ! Thank you so much for providing so much information! I chatted with a lawyer and she mentioned that for my first time applying for the Artist Visa, I need a "Service Contract". Basically a company in Japan signing a contract, stating that they want to work with me with such mention : "The company shall pay ______JPY /monthly to [YOUR NAME] as the remuneration for the performance of [YOUR NAME] based on this contract." Even though I have : a Master Degree, 7 years of experience, a good portfolio, 1 year past experience working in Japan, and can get some recommendation letters from a few professional in Japan, this "Service Contract" is the one thing I struggle to get. Companies don't want to sign a contract that bounds them to pay me every month... and I don't blame them for it. I fully understand that it's not how freelancing usually work. At least in my field (video production). Sorry for this long message, but my question is simple: To your knowledge, do we actually need such a "Service Contract" to apply for the Artist Visa? If not, is there any requirement of any other kind of document to prove your expected futur income? Thank you so much for your insight! :)

Hi guys! It's been a while. How are you all doing? :) Some of you might not know, but I took a social media break last month! It's been more than a week since I returned, but honestly, I'm still getting used to it. 😂 One of the main changes I've noticed is that most things on social media no longer seem attractive to me. I think it's because my mind now knows what is essential for me, and the non-essential things just feel like a waste of time. I definitely spend less time on social media now, and when I do, it's mostly on things that are useful to me. Overall, this has been a very good challenge. I’m currently thinking of going the same path as I can’t find a job I have a question if you don’t mind: How did you manage to make your part time job to sign the visa application (stamp and financial info)? My part time doesn’t seem to agree to that at all and they state that they only support full timers for the visa….

why does watching your video makes me smile? i mean the fact that you dont plan the whole thing (except for place-in-out) is funny but experience wise, surprisingly momentous. I was thinking the same thing too like even just sitting on a train watching the scene, sitting at the park and the likes is already an experience. As for me, i plan to visit Kyushu area so am planning to buy this kippu and youtube led me to you. this is a very wholistic vlog and helps me understanding how to use this ticket. I have 1 week of no concrete plan on august, i just want to go many olaces as i can in kyushu as everything is first time to me in that area. Am living in Tokyo by the way. keep up the simple and natural way of vlogging hahaha

So, if I am understanding this right - we can self-sponsor for something like an artist visa or an international services engineer without needing a company to sponsor? We can self-sponsor ourselves? (I'm only halfway through the video but it's great so far)
