It is a Sunday afternoon on a Boland wine farm. The restaurant is buzzing. Souf (Sophie) is one of the waitresses. We experience the day through her eyes. After the busy day, she and the girls must wash and tidy up, but Souf is all alone. But Souf knows she has help from an unlikely source.

When Moerat draws Johnny into his crime activities. Johnny is torn between his companionship with oompie Daars and how scared he is of Moerat. He goes with Moerat and in an ironic twist makes his wish for a real bed come true.

"'n Bed vir Johnny" tells the story of a street child, Johnny, who has never lived in a house or slept in a bed. He has never been to school. Together with oompie Daars, Johnny finds prtection at night en thanks to oompie Daars Johny experiences companionship and sees the kind side of humans. But there are dangerous characters like Moerat. Oompie Daars warns Johny about Moerat.

When you start with a drama we often skip the character list, but this is part of the exposition (exposisie) the start of your plot, because it introduces us to the characters. For characterisation you need to note the principal characters'actions, words and personality.
