if you're considering this build, remember you should probably be running 1 ton axles with 40" tires (unless it's full time mall crawler???) ! Love the smiles when you put the pedal to the metal! That's why we do this.

krawlers edge family cage... powder coated local to you guys (they used to do this if you pick it up) those cages are stylish, but not real protective. KW cages don't have A pillar support, so not for wheeling! the blue print warranty will expire before the truck moves! I bought a project, it came with a polished steering column. Someone told me about polished columns.... sold it and bought black.

wheels and tires can be last, as long as they are small enough.... and not custom suspension. I am doing custom suspension, so i had the build the suspension, drop the body back on , check suspension articulation, pull body... repeat.

my dad sold his one owner all original rust free 73 bronco in '97 for $4500 to fund the kid he was having aka me... now here I am 27 years later trying to build one out of a rusted out shell of a 73 ranger bronco

Fun episode! I had a 95 bronco project that had a good frame and mostly good body but the inner quarter panel where the wheel well is was rusted badly. I had trouble finding the inner rear quarter panel. My plan was to pull one out of a junkyard bronco or get the inner panel from a short bed. Yes, taking a vehicle that's in need of a lot of work and restoring it is very satisfying.

I have found that a ratchet strap is a must to the Bronco tool box! I used a ratchet strap to get the clutch adjusting rod into the clutch fork.

That's how I manage my vehicles, Worst is first! as far as problems to be fixed. Then some other related side gems maybe along the way. I just got some parts back from sandblasting and also new 351M valve covers and cork gaskets.

Very interesting. Would love to see another video of the Ranger when it's all done. Still waiting for the video of the underside of that Wimbledon White bronco, as well. Keep up the good work.

Something else to check while you have the hub removed is your axle joints, old dry axle joint will make your steering hard to turn.

Picked up my new steering linkage from Toms this morning. After the northwest overland rally discovered some needed love for the steering. Thanks guys

Well dang. This makes me want to forgo the full rebuild and just get it in good enough condition.

I’ll have to add up everything I’ve done so far on my bronco and see what I’ve spent on it. I’ve done everything myself except rebuild the front axle, I’ve never rebuilt an axle before so I’d much rather have a shop do that

At around 10:31 you drove by the subdivision I grew up in. I was a kid in the 70s when Broncos and Blazers were everywhere. I get it. Love the automobile heritage of every style; every era. I'm just gobsmacked price near $50K. After watching the video (well done BTW) I looked at local inventory for pricing of 2024 Broncos (not the Sport >yuck<) for $50K-ish (no V8's...sad), although not lifted. I'm wondering what I'm missing.

Just media blasting will do the outside rust. If you have the frame stripped down, it's really not that hard to build a trough out of neoprene roofing material and use electrolysis to boil the rust out of the center. Cut down chimney brushes followed by por15?
