CampNL 2023 by OF4WD
Переглядів 401Рік тому
This was my first time attending CampNL which is organized by the ONTARIO FEDERATION OF 4WD RECREATIONISTS (OF4WD). This year it was hosted at the Kinmount Fairgrounds in the quaint little town of Kinmount. A HUGE thank you to all the volunteers and sponsors who generously donated their time, resources, expertise, and products for the raffles. Without them, this amazing event can't take place. ...
Pencil Lake Trail - Ontario | Offroading Jeep Adventures

Making new friends while offroading on the Pencil Lake Trail in Ontario. Water levels were low this time but crossing the large pond at the end is always unnerving. I was worried when one of our team developed an awful screeching sound from one of his wheels. After removing the tire I was able to find a stone jammed between the brake rotor and ironically the stone shield. Fortunately it was a q...
Scotch/Hydro Line | Minden, Ontario | Kawartha Region | Offroading Adventures
Переглядів 540Рік тому
We took it as a huge compliment as an ATV rider yelled out "At least you F'ing use it!" referring to our Jeep, which is mostly stock. This time we hit up Scotch Line, which is supposed to be a newbie friendly trail, but I would have to disagree. Lots of scraping for 4x4's with a stock suspension. My trail partner suffered some damage the last time he was on this trail, so he was quite happy to ...

Hitting the trails with a few friends. We decided to tackle what is usually an easy trail, but were faced with a deep problem at the end. This pond wasn't supposed to be there but you never know what to expect when the trails first open for the season. Check out that beaver! Back road adventures are always worthwhile.

Sometimes you just have to explore the road less traveled. You never know what you'll come across. I had some free time so I checked out a dirt road near the track I was going to be instructing at for the day. This unmaintainted road was just what I needed to start the day off right. Seeing some wildlife always makes these little adventures worthwhile.

Stranded on the beach! Dude got stuck axle deep! Beach Recovery
Переглядів 288Рік тому
While driving on the beach in Daytona, we came across a family who got their pick-up truck stuck in the sand axle deep. He was clearly not getting out on his own. I had recovery gear in my Jeep so it was a easy recovery for me to yank him out and save him a lot of money. If you're looking for a couple affordable options for kinetic ropes, here are some options from Amazon that I have used perso...

Installing CB Radio & Scanner in the Jeep JL Wrangler Rubicon
Переглядів 388Рік тому
CB Radios are still widely used by truckers but also by various offroading clubs and although most clubs in the USA are using GMRS, the clubs in Ontario are still stuck in the past with the older CB's. As for the scanner, I've had one in my vehicles for many years and they come in handy listening to various emergency services and get weather alerts when things go wrong. I still have to mount a ...
Installing 12v/USB power hub & hiding all my USB wires behind the dashboard panels on my Jeep (JLUR)
Переглядів 566Рік тому
I hate wires dangling all over the place, blocking the dash, getting tangled up on turn signals, the shifter, etc. So I bought a power hub with three 12v ports and 4 USB ports (found on Amazon). I mounted it with some double sided tape in the glove box and plugged that into a 12v adapter which I wired into one of the extra AUX wires located under the dash (the pink one wired to the Ignition, no...

I've had my 2019 Jeep JLUR for a month, and now it was our first time taking the new Jeep off-roading. It was my first time actually off-roading myself as a driver. I've been a passenger before while off-roading but this time would be my first time behind the wheel making all the decisions. Lots of bumps, scraps, grinding of the chassis over rocks, getting high-centred, and crashing through the...
Niagara Falls Fun Fest - Behind, Under, and In

It was a busy 24hrs exploring Niagara Falls, Ontario. Just the Falls though. No time to visit downtown. I think that would need at least a whole extra day. We explored the Power Plant, the newly opened Tunnel feature, Behind the Falls, the Falls Fury (no pics or vids of that one), the Niagara Cruise to the bottom of the falls (and boy we got soaked), zip lining, the Aerocar over the whirlpool, ...

This just came up in my feed today. Your line through the long watercrossing was interesting as you stayed closer to the swamp side than we normally take. I noticed that one person was even spinning wheels from being so far over. Regardless, you've got some great video up there. Hope to see more this year.
