Hello Dianne. Have you considered speaking about Giftedness and Childhood trauma? It is quite a complex topic, I know. But I think it is needed. It could be a series of videos and I’d love to see what you can bring on this subject regarding your vast experience working with gifted people.
This is such a good reminder and reference. Thank you!
8:23 Soap operas . They wanted to fire him because he could not hold a conversation about bloody soap operas! 😂 If this alone doesn’t make you depressed, you can’t think. Truth is the others fear and envy to the point of not making use of the gifted’s abilities. Out of sheer spite. One of the reasons for which I cannot stand humans anymore.
7:51 Oh, yes. I have been called rude when pointed out the obvious in a polite manner. I used to be a rather nice person. Now I don’t give a fuck anymore. I am old, sick and tired of everybody’s bullshit. I am still trying to hide my mind to the point of being accused that I ask ‘stupid questions’ 😂
What if you can see the different colors spectrum in your skin or on other things? Best way I can explain it is like a hologram sticker but on a very very very subtle level. Another example is that when I’m outside and the sun shines on my skin, I can see all the tiny different refractions colors of light on my skin and hair almost like how a prism works.
Can you pls do a video on profound giftedness 😊
So now that you know, What are you going to do with it?
Thank you for showing others who have enthusiasm and hand gestures when working with things they love. Even just hearing Jo saying it sometimes scares people off, but it is better to be genuine to yourself really helps. I get a lot of comments on hand gestures when speaking at work and comments on caring about things when most people do not. It’s pretty much impossible for me to not have those traits.
I don't love learning, I just want to know everything. Learning is more the water to the fish lol
You have such beautiful eyes. My father was manipulating, dominating and controlling. I went no contact
Thank you, Dianne. I just found you and I really needed these friendly reminders today! 🌹
I am older, and I think I had only few authentic connections. Realistically have almost none these days. I have one friend who is OK, but never had been in intimate relationship, I think of trauma related reasons. Any advice for that? I spent most of mylife alone.
Thank you Dianne! You are doing great work! Much what you said resonated with me. As I grew up I thought I was stupid, because people around me seemed so sure about everything, while I was questioning everything. People around me seemed to have such finite personalities while I struggled to find my own personality through a bunch of different personas that I used to try to connect to the world. I didn't realise that those with "finite personalities" probably where more one-dimensional than me, and that I had a richer world within me than them. Fortunately I have found great friends in life through my great passion of music, but a romantic relationship is still to come. I think a big reason is that I enjoy my own company so much and don't want to waste my time on a person who slows me down (sounds selfish and arrogant I know ;) ), combined with the fact that it's harder for gifted people to find each other, since we are a minority in society. But I haven't lost hope, and I find myself more forgiving towards myself and others as a get older, which helps in connecting with people. The untypical brain development that you describe was new to me, really interesting! It may explain why gifted people have almost like a "sixth sense", because they can process and filter information in such a rapid way that they see the greater picture instead of getting stuck in details. I have always been ashamed of my gifts because there is no worse feeling than the feeling of superiority towards others. It brings so much guilt, pain and feelings of isolation. Lately I try to see my gifts instead for what they are - gifts. I didn't choose them, they chose me, and then I feel very thankful. And I know that each one of us, gifted or not, have unique capabilities and unique perspectives of life. If we all could aknowledge and celebrate that, then there is a bright future for humanity. Now I have rambled enough haha. Great love to you all, over and out.
I was a gifted child and now im just a crazy person
Ditto. 😎
It’s been so hard to understand and to realize that my problems in school, high school, work were not really what I thought. I felt different and I have suffered a lot. I’m crying a lot after watching this video. Thank you so much. It’s time to shine ✨
Is like a church, boring message as always
This is a suspicious concept because how do we gauge who is gifted and who isn’t? Seems like anyone can call themselves gifted just to feel special about themselves and lead to more narcissistic behavior
Great stuff, Dianne!
He doesn't age this guy ehat uou see is what you get hes definitely not a clown hes possibly just a very lucky man who has the gift of TV shame he had no staff management skills not anywhere near as bad Boyd cottington but almost he was a screaming skull and the deadline jobs crush staff
so there are the "gifted" and the "neurotypical", the special and the ordinary... What a pathetic view of the world.. This is also the seed of extremism and genocide.
Thank you for this discussion, what a powerhouse pairing between you two!
I don’t know many people who are also gifted and I was wondering if gifted people do well partnered together or if the intensity combined could be highly challenging.
Good ideas. The approach is fair, shows respect and allows people to be different.
I am even happy that the word intensity can be spoken of here and it’s not being labeled as a personal failure or fault to be changed but just a difference. That is reasonable and makes it less socially taboo.
I am so glad someone asked you to talk about this. Thank you!
Amen!!! I was praying for this 😭😭😭
I sure hope so.
Excellent and very informative video ‼
Thank you for having me! I really enjoyed sitting and talking about these things with you!!!
That is excellent what was said about empathy and making sure you treat people well and not beneath you. It would be a much kinder world if everyone embraced that kind of thinking.
Creativity, it is not common and has a different thinking process than neurotypicals and artists of all types are neurodivergent. Also, it is better for gifted people to actually use the word gifted because it doesn’t mean what most people think it does, but also gifted people seem to be thought of as not existing after adolescence. It helps people to have others like themselves represented in culture and you cannot do that unless you use the correct name.
Thank you for mentioning the difference between malignant perfectionism and beautiful perfectionism and including the anxiety that comes with a visionary bent. Very validating!
Thank you, Dianne. Having both artistic and intellectual passions, I can relate to this episode! There absolutely can be a driven-ness in the flow that can make it challenging to put a bookmark in it. I have a handful of friends who are the same way. While I sometimes believe we can/do go along with when/where/how the spirit moves us as part of our process, it is VERY important to our well-being to be observant so that we can "reel it in" when we really need to and bring ourselves to balance. I might add that sometimes stepping away from research or thought or creative work can be so beneficial. Taking that pause can sometimes allow us to digest and integrate whatever it is we are working on. We can also receive the most fantastic insights, solutions, and understanding when we step back a bit, whether that looks like sleeping, relaxing, or taking care of everyday tasks. It can take practice, though it's definitely doable and something we can learn to do for ourselves.
Best video about the theme!!!!
When no one is kind enough to speak.
I didn't even know about Figment and Journey Into Imagination until I watched the Defunctland video about it but he's become my favorite Disney character. The whole message of the Imagination Pavilion is my favorite of all the themes at the Disney parks.
I want you ladies to both know how beneficial this has been for me. Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom. Also, I absolutely adore the name of your show Dianne..
The information has been such a help. Thank you!
You are welcome. I am happy you are enjoying the show.
This has been so helpful. It is getting hard and this is what I needed to be reminded of. I do like that you chose “Someone Gets Me” because it really is a need that is rarely met and desired. Thank you for your work.
Thank you for your kind words. I believe we all need to be understood and heard. I am glad this episode was a good reminder!
It is fascinating to hear you say that the gifted simply aim to have things correct. I have been accused of being a perfectionist at times and my response has always been that there is no perfect, but there is a state of being correct. I had to adopt an internal dialog of "good enough" and weather a sense of disgust in order to stay in sync with others.
I am so glad you said this. I have the same experiences and at this point I am tired of being told I am a perfectionist and tired of having to explain how that is untrue and do not care about perfection but love growth, change and the choice of choosing to do things that are correct. It is a lonely thing to be misunderstood even after taking the time to explain. Thank you!
As a side thought, the disgust is very real and does not leave because it’s a violation of values and like a self sacrifice to not be a target and reduce problems from not matching others. It is why I enjoy time alone.
I am not sure I am gifted, but watching some UA-cam Videos about gifted children, there was a lot I could relate to.
Thank you for your comment. Giftedness is not restricted to children so if you relate, you may be more gifted than you have once thought. I am happy you can relate,
@@someonegetsme Oh! Thanks.

Thank you.
Yes I'm trying to reach Chuck Kentis or his son Chris cactus I am cousin to William Harnish
I will let him know you are trying to reach him.
Thank you so much it's important that I reach him thank you so much
Thank you. This was helpful. I instinctively developed multiple support networks at work. It was that they could only understand one piece of the work that I do; so it required multiple people to cover the full range.
You are welcome. Thank you for watching. I am happy you got value from this episode.
Can you please talk about gifted with non? That is my issue.
Certainly, I am recording this episode later today at your request and it will be live mid September.
I love this
Thank you.
I used to think that I was crazy or something beyond people's understanding. My teacher told me that I was phenomenal when I was in elementary school and they isolated, shamed me for being sharp for my age. I always had a comeback to anything anybody can say about me also, my mother told me that I will get killed if I don't stop being smart fast forward my boss at FAANG resented me for being "a smart ass" 😂 I don't even try to be smart but as soon as someone starts talking about something that I know very well ideas continue flowing without stopping and I can't keep my mouth shut. I love helping people but I'm also scared of them because they're angry, mean spirits sometimes. My solution is to isolate and distract myself around people that can't understand me. They think that I'm a stuckup, shy, introverted, mean, angry all kinds of bs. Thanks for motivating
If you are self aware and understand the impact your mental powers have on people, yet you continue to behave in a way that is detrimental to you, then perhaps you need to develop some emotional intelligence. By this, I mean moderating your behavior when warranted and/or find your way into an environment where your behavior isn't seen as threatening.
@@stevedavenport1202 I appreciate the advice!
We are threatening and get stabed in the back ,people keep being non coopérative, and not give you what you need to get your things done, very hypocritical behavior and energy sucking non stop, takes all of your energy To get things done before you realize that this is all done on purpose.
Thank you
You are welcome. Thanks for watching.
Its shades of green
Thank you for watching.
