3 SIMPLE TOOLS -EVERY man should have!

Howdy So here I’ve got my top three most used tools in my shop and three that I very much believe your father or just any guy would like. They are in order of the best I think as well. The issue with this twist lock style is the angle of the ladder is bad. If you put your foot on the bottom rung your shin contacts the next step preventing you from pushing yourself into the boat. This step will work but is far from ideal. Also the plate will catch water either getting in plane or coming off plane. This will throw water on the rear deck. Several boats do not have grab handles to pull yourself into the boat. These would also need to be added.

    • @problynotthebestgarage
      @problynotthebestgarage 25 днів тому

      Hey so while that is very true, to be clear here, this ladder is sold as an emergency ladder. If you are looking for something to use on a regular basis, then absolutely I’m sure there are much better options (all for a cost). This one from my experience though is very simple to use and myself all the way to my youngest child don’t have any issues getting in the boat with it. As for the water on the deck, this has never been an issue with this particular model on my specific boat. The way it is mounted is so tight to the jack plate, there isn’t any real issues with this. Hope that helped anyone else reading this as well. Stay safe on the water, that’s the main thing. Better options may be out there but I will say this ladder is far better than no ladder at all…which is how I bought the boat. Thanks for watching and the comment as well. Stay safe out there

    A buddy of mine took a coupling nut, a short piece of all thread, and thread locker to make his TH marine nut work. He thread locked the all thread to the billet nut and coupling nut. By doing that he can still remove the prop by unthreading the billet nut with its custom extension

    Water and soap will detect leaks on the tread. It will produce air bubbles anywhere there is a leak! I have found and plugged many leaks that way. You should never put petroleum products on rubber.

    • @problynotthebestgarage

      No, It is not the original. I took the original switch panel and traced it on a blank piece of wood so I could shape it. Then it got coated with 3-4 layers of paint just for sealant from water then of course the epoxy and carbon fiber over it. So far I have had no issues whatsoever through all kinds of weather. • @problynotthebestgarage
      @problynotthebestgarage 9 місяців тому

      Hey thanks for the question there. So the valve core removal it just eliminates having to sit and hold it. It is by no means necessary at all. The removal of the core also allows for air to escape while putting pressure on the sidewall while you break the bead. Hope that makes sense and hopefully helps out. Thanks again for the question

      Pull your head in buddy It's NOT the OPs fault that you bought a completely different branded product! There are only 3 scenarios in which you could make a statement like that in good faith 1. You are making assertions that the OP is a Liar and deliberately misleading his audience, but why would he do that? 2. You are making accusations that the OP used special effects and Photoshop to deceive his audience into believing that LYSOL would work to remove Hull waterline scum lines and discolouration. Or the most likely scenario is 3. Your incompetence has led you to purchase the incorrect product and when it didn't work you immediately make accusations that OPs method "DOESN'T WORK" which I can personally attest to that it most certainly DOES WORK if you buy the actual product OP demonstrates in this video. Absolutely! We use this all the time. If you check out another video on the channel here called “Jackplate Ladder Demo” (it has me falling in the water as the picture) you can see it in use. It’s very easy to use for sure. I’m 6’ tall myself and it’s fine and my wife is 5’2” and she can also use it just fine just bigger steps for her of course. Hopefully that helps and if you have any other questions feel free to ask. Enjoy the new boat!

      @@problynotthebestgarage Thanks so much, I really appreciate the reply. We picked up our new Tracker Classic XL from BP on Saturday. When we were going through the walk through with the boat I asked the guy what type of ladders would he suggest that didn't require drilling the transom and he mentioned the motor mount ladder. I was like, "Hey, I just looked at that one." and he says "Well sometimes we have them in our stock room." So he went and looked and they found one and I said I'll take it if you mount it, it was a done deal. Looks great but we haven't tried it out yet. I'm so glad to read your post now. We took it out but only had time to do the first one hour break in before it started getting late. We will take it out hopefully this weekend to get the second hour in and test out the new ladder also. :)

    an easier and better way - (trick) is -remove valve stem, get an old caulk gun tube -fill it with old latex paint and pump it into the tire -grease is fine but alot of times it will not fix the problem but latex paint fills in all cracks and seals it up perfect -

    Super Iron Out. About $8 for a bottle. Just a little bit of the powder in a bucket of water, don’t breathe it in. Use a deck brush to slap in on the hull then rinse off. 1 bottle will last you the whole season and is the best product for this by far! 🇨🇦

      Agreed. Tried a whole batch of different cleaners including toilet bowl cleaner. Iron out worked the best, hands down. I think its probably easier on the gel coat as well.

    I use “ toilet bowl wax ring “ from any hardware store - dig out the wax - put in a small can - heat it up to melt the wax - take a small brush and dip it in the melted wax and brush it on the bead or rim- when the wax hits the cold surface it hardens and wax doesn’t dry out !

    I had problems with leaks around the beads on aluminium (UK spelling of the metal with the additional i) alloy wheels caused by corrosion from salt on roads. It was on a Nissan car towards the lower end of the market so possibly not very good quality alloy although the car served me for over 212,000 miles. I used the method as described but instead of using grease I used the thick black stuff sold for undersealing vehicles. It was messy to use but did the job successfully.

    .It takes several gallons of oil to make a tire, I don't see that grease would hurt it.

    I use my log splitter and a piece of 2 x 4 cross grain against splitters wedge and puproceed to pole splitters handle forward and break the bead and repeat until tire is freed from wheel. Get a piece of sandpaper, clean up the rims bead area. Use a little soap on tire and blast it with 180 psi if you’re able to. If you’re having a problem, getting the tire back on wheel,spray a little either inside the tire, use a candle, lighter clicker and light tire. Tire will be seated back and wheel very quickly. Use caution when using this method.

    It works. By the time the grease would wreck the bead the entire tire would be junk anyway.
