Cathedral Light by Daniel Oman - Wolfgang Vedral - Guitar
I'm playing here 'Cathedral Light' by Daniel Oman, an Austrian guitarist and composer whom I appriciate a lot. Never before I have felt so strongly, that I was constantly on the edge of silence. So playing this piece became a kind of therapy for me.
At the end of October we visited the Cathedral 'San Giusto' in Trieste, an old church from the 14th century, located on a hill above the city.
I was immediately fascinated by the magic of this room as soon as I entered the church. I also took a few photos there. These seemed to me to fit well with Daniel's music.

Although I'm not religious in the traditional sense, it can happen that a guitar piece becomes a prayer. That's how it was with this composition. Tuning is G-C-D-g-d-g again. No retuning necessary. Use a capo on the 3rd.fret and 2 pieces of eraser. I took the photos a few years ago on the Croatian sea. Lieber Wolfgang, das ist ein ganz besonderes Stück mit ganz eigenem Charakter (anders als ich "normale Gitarrestücke" kenne). Das versetzt einem in einen ganz besonderen Zustand. Es bedarf wohl auch einer eigenen Stimmung, um dieses Stück so ausdrucksstark zu spielen, wie du es machst. Liebe Grüße Gerhard
