I've had good experience with RIA 1911's too. Keep them clean and lubed ad they run. You might have to replace the springs later. But you can't beat the Value Equation. Mags are Para P18 pattern 9mm / 38 super. Look up: "Rock Island Armory Tac Ultra FS 1911 Magazine 9mm 17 Rounds". Plenty of options sub $35 each. Had good luck with RIA M1911 A2 double stacks in 9mm and 22TCM. The mags are based on Para P18 9mm / 38 Super, and sub $35. Magwell = the basepad mags. If you have a 22TCM you must use that type mag as they are slightly different. But they are interchangeable with 9mm. Open up the mags, clean out the guts. Check your follower for burrs and horns stopping it going up all the way. Glad yours worked good for 1K round without cleaning. I get the T&E thing. But you should give any gun a quick wipe down with lube before a review to eliminate variables. A Staccato 2011 goes for $3K+, and mags $75 each. The Value Equation isn't there. You could buy an MP5 clone and a RIA 1911 DS. Or 3 RIA 1911's tricked out. Exactly what STI use to do, rework RIA 1911's and parts. They rebranded as Staccato. Wouldn't surprise me if they're still outsourcing parts. Staccato's often shoot loose groups as they have a bushingless design. The front of slide is open and floating barrel. Just the nature of the design. Good hands on review and sharing your experience. 👍
