That's not the cast from Battlestar Galactica. They were in the cheap rip-off of the original. I never saw the remake, after I learned that they got rid of Starbuck. A cigar smoking, gambling, woman chaser.

I think what happened there with the "B" is that they inadvertently marked it as the "E" and when someone said that was wrong, they designed a paint jig machine to overlay a "B" over the "E" that was already there. That is why it looks so dark. Look at it under a magnifying glass like I did with mine. As far as the deflector dish goes, I agree with you. I did just get done fulling detailing my ship by painted the deflector dish cove flat black, and the dish itself a light blue. I then detailed the long warp nacelle grilles on their sides also with flat black paint, and the impulse engine exhausts on the back of the saucer section with crimson red paint to mimic the red glow of the engines. Finally, I agree with you, the bridge button to work the lights is way too big. I'm trying to figure out what to do about that. I was able to do this stuff to my ornament because I'm a veteran scale model kit builder and learned how to do this kind of detail work years ago. And finally, like you, I wish the deflector dish could light up as well, instead of just having a gray "belly button" hole in the front of the secondary hull. I'd show a couple of photos of my reworked model here, but UA-cam does not give you that option in the comments area.

Thanks for the video! I like how you occasionally added a still image with some color correction. It's a shame how most exhibition halls have such harsh lighting. All too often it will make an otherwise excellent model look somewhat less. You did a good job!

I have built this kit and it is not a difficult build but can be very frustrating. I went with the folded wing version and that requires cutting the wings with a PE saw blade. (Worth the effort) When applying the paint, make sure you study real life images first as there is no real paint guide in the instruction sheet. The canopies are the biggest issue, the split down the middle is very frustrating. Second is the fit of the wings into the fuselage, When you finally get them to snap into place they will break the joint on the exhaust port requiring regluing and some putty. This is one of the best videos I've seen covering a toy soldier show. You really made me feel like I was there in person and took your time filming the vendor tables and products they displayed. Thank you!

The Cartograf print is under the Fightertown one.... Anyway, I'm doing it and it requires some extra work to make the parts fit toghether. The instruction are not very clear and some parts are missing (in the instructions). The airbrakes are a mess especlially if closed.

Thanks for the review. I should receive this kit in the mail in a couple days. I’ve been wondering, did people tend to leave the glow in the dark parts unpainted? It seems like that would make the most sense. Hoping you can share some insight.

OMG I got 5 for the colonial fleet.

One reason why I started building Plastic models was all to do with Boyd. He really made my models come alive. And because of Boyd I went over and beyond. All my Star Trek builds are because of Boyd. RIP 😢BOYD 😢

His videos on the 1:350 TOS Enterprise was my inspiration to get back into model building. The way he explained things during his builds made it seem as if anyone could build what he was building. He will truly be missed.

Boyd was a once in a lifetime person. I thoroughly enjoyed his builds and his various treatments over the years. I will miss him.

I’m in shock. I knew he was ill but had no clue his time was so near to ending. I only subscribed to his channel a little less than a year ago. His easy manner and clear dedication to modeling won me over with the first of his videos that I saw. His willingness to reply to comments really struck me too- he was incredibly patient as you said, answering the same questions over and over, knowing that it might have been the hundredth time he had heard it but it was the first time the commenter got up the courage to ask. His willingness to share his “secrets” was boundless. He was happy to learn new things too, like about the existence of flexible superglue. I’m rambling here. My thoughts just won’t order for me. I’m going to go and binge watch all of his videos while his channel is still up. He still has a lot to teach. That’s going to be my tribute to him.

Hi Bruce. I literally just saw Boyd. On April 24th I met him. I'd purchased his Ultimate Space Battleship Yamato to help support his treatments and went to his house to pick it up. He looked great. He was in good spirits and seemed to be physically recovering and getting stronger. And, I have to say, he was so nice and the coolest older nerd I've ever met. He spent the better part of 6 hours showing me his workspace and his model room while we just talked about everything science fiction and the modeling community. I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear he'd just passed away. I will treasure the time I spent with him, the model he made and how amazing his show was. He inspired me to start modeling again and his videos always had great tips on techniques and experiences shared. I will really miss him. RIP Boyd Crompton.

Just found your channel. I remember doing a couple Google Hangouts with Boyd way back when. He was an amazing builder and it always made me feel good to see that something I did caught his attention enough to have hime make a comment. He will be missed. I think I'm going to be doing a Lost in Space build in his honor since I know that was a favorite of his. You've been subbed
