Great question! When you first get an Epson ColorWorks printer, it goes through an ink installation process that will use up about half of your maintenance box and a significant amount of ink. This only happens during the initial setup, so we recommend purchasing an extra set of ink and an additional maintenance box when you buy your printer. We hope this helps!

Hello! It all depends on the sheet labels that you are printing on. Either measure with a ruler or check with the manufacturer you purchased your labels from!

We haven't tested the Microsoft Word phone app, so we can't confirm for sure. However, given the number of steps involved, it would likely be much easier to do this on a desktop rather than a phone!

Hello! The Zebra ZD220 can print on 2" x 1", 4" x 6", and 2" round labels! Sometimes round labels are tricky, but as long as you load them correctly and calibrate your printer, they should print just fine. Just make sure you are using direct thermal labels!

Sure! The one we used in this video is from DPR Labeling, but there are several different brands that sell these attachments.

Good question! The Zebra ZD220 is a direct thermal printer, which means there is no ink or toner. You have to use direct thermal labels which already have ink inside of the label, and when heat is applied, the image is created. Unfortunately, the ZD220 does not have bluetooth capabilities.

@@SmithCoronaLabels no it’s the same we’ve always used. We had the IT team come and update a bunch of stuff because the CDK cyberattack. Idk if that had anything to do with it. Like I said though it printed my first few fine, then everything randomly started printing off center. Tried again today but still same thing.

@@MoHawkAnakin I would try contacting Zebra themselves to see if they can help you troubleshoot since calibrating the printer did not work.

Hi there! After researching this a bit, we weren't able to come up with a clear answer when using Word. If you're using Photoshop, you could look into creating clipping masks, but we're not sure how this will transfer over when printing. Let us know if you end up finding a solution!

Dymo makes these labels for less than 1 cent per label. And their quality isn’t any better than generic labels. 30 cents is also a lot for small businesses. Print 10 labels and you’re already out $3. Some small businesses print 10-100 labels a day. And if a print messes up and has to be reprinted then it hits the bottom line.

Compare to under 4 cents each when I buy 4 rolls at once on Amazon - highway robbery!

Hello! Microsoft Word does not recognize circles, so you'll have to make the template into squares. You can then input your circle design and center it within the square. We hope this helps!

That's a really great question. We've tried looking too, but we can't seem to find how to make the font larger on the configuration report. We'd recommend reaching out to Zebra support (supportcommunity.zebra.com/s/contactsupport?language=en_US). Please let us know if they have a solution!

We're simply saying not to waste your money on the DYMO 5XL when there are similarly priced printers that don't require proprietary labels. In the thermal label market, almost every printer brand (besides DYMO) allows you to use third party labels. That's why so many label companies exist, to try and give the consumers the best price. Labels are essentially like toilet paper. Would you want to be forced to use a certain brand of toilet paper that's more expensive because that's all your toilet allows?

@@SmithCoronaLabels No you were pretty clear on the device being 'shit' just because you cant use 3rd party labels. The Dymo 5xl is a very capable device if you aren't stingy... 🤦‍♂

That’s a bad analogy because iPhone doesn’t have proprietary use of headphones. You can use any Bluetooth and wired headphone from any brand. With this printer it’s worse it would be as if Apple made it so you can only listen to music using genuine Apple headphones.

With Apple headphones/game cartridges, that's a 1-time purchase; this is akin to a subscription fee, yet the printer isn't a WHOLE LOT cheaper up front than the competition which lets you use 4-cent labels instead of gouging you for 30 cents each because they can. Used 4XL models are selling on Amazon for more than a new 5XL, likely because of this!

Hi there! If nothing happens after 2 seconds, then try holding the pause button until LED 2 starts blinking. This will put your printer into "Print Standby Mode", which you'll then be able to follow along with the video to finish calibrating. Please let us know if this helps!

If you're looking to print in full color, then we would recommend checking out the Epson ColorWorks printers. However, if you want to print in black and white, then the Zebra ZD220 or the ZT610 could also be a good option for you!

Hello! Did you try performing a nozzle check and head cleaning on your printer? It's possible some nozzles could be clogged. You can skip to 0:59 in the video for help with this.
