Ordinary Is Marvelous!
In a world of trappings and highlights, this channel is designed to take a step back and realize that each day we are above ground and breathing is a true gift! The lives we live are precious and each thing we do; no matter how "boring" those things may seem, are filled with layer upon layer of the lessons we've gathered from those we love, know, and respect.
Please stay awhile and enjoy yourself as we try our best to entertain, share, and learn from each other as we travel on this path of our "ordinary" lives. Whether it's camping, hiking, biking, home improvements, gardening, gear review...or just rambling thoughts/opinions--we'll our do our darndest to make you feel welcome and appreciated!
Thank you, thank you!!!

Spending the Afternoon with The Forgotten Ones
Peyton and I spend (a very hot and humid) afternoon with friends tending to an abandoned cemetery deep in the woods. While what we accomplished barely scratched the surface, we felt good about the connections we made. ...with both the living, and the long gone.
Many of the graves were marked with dates in the mid to late 1800's, with one I found which was marked as recently as the 1950's! I guess that IS almost 75 years ago. ...eek. We cleared some brush, and set a couple of stones that had been knocked/fell down.
We also discovered what we believe to be a 1950-something Ford Country Sedan. Yep, a V8 with overdrive, baby! Of course today it seemed to make a better planter and critter hangout than the family roadster it surely once was.
We plan on making return visits and doing our best to keep it from getting lost in the woods completely! We'll post updates as we have them. ...thank you for watching the video and reading all this.

Que baca lleva? Gracias
"throw it away throw it away".
hello you have a very nice setup. I would like to do the same for my C-hr. What roof rack system did you use?
Wow that’s my birth date! Hehehe
Hi where do I find the link for ur whole set up? 🙏
Lucky!!!! I camp a lot ! And I really want that set up on my chr
Hi!!! Did you have to change ur tires? I have a toyota chr 2018. Which ikamper did you have? I’m sorry for a lot of questions cuz I was thinking of some set up like urs
Amazing
I can get striped cut lawn with my scag tiger no extra stripper not sure what this thing on you mower actually does
The way you were standing, I thought it was going to be a pee trough. 🤷♂️
That made me actually laugh out loud! XD
I like that!!
Thank you!
i just bought a Walker instead
Hey Jason, we have a low entry into our garage so with the Camper on my C-HR it wouldn't fit.... how easy is it to put on and take off?... 10 min job?
Mmmm... I don't know if I would go as far as 10 minutes. 🙂 Taking it off can be a 20 minute job, with 2 people. ...reinstalling it? Depending on how particular you are about its placement, I'd say double that. Again, 2 people is really key in executing either task. I'm sorry to hear about your low clearance... That was always one of the benefits of the C-HR. I've since installed it on top of my 4Runner and I'm up to something like 7 feet and change! 😳🙂
Used to sell speakers like these and the 4 was a significant improvement over the older models. I don't blame you for wanting to keep it going
That poor thing has been through the ringer and hasn't missed a lick until this season. Extreme heat, EXTREME cold... I was very happy to find an option to keep it around as opposed to replacing it. Thanks for your comment! 👍
Fun 🤣
Dub step to mow the yard huh well alright
If it were a true pro grade mower, the suction of the blades alone would stripe the lawn. But this is a decent second best option
Im fairly damn sure it does this just by going different directions alone. But yay for you
Super grandpa 😎
Cool video bro. The music is badass. Got me pumped the hell up over here. Let’s go!!!
Thank you! 😃 Yes'sir... The right music could make buttering toast exciting. ...hey, there's an idea!💡 📽🧇 🎶
Me with my $200 push mower with the rubber piece on the back that does the same thing 😭
Sweet! Happy striping! 😃👍
I wondered how the guy down the street always got his lawn looking like that 🤔 Thanks for taking the time to do this, cool video man 👍
That's ONE method... If you thumb through the comments, you'll find the other folks have had success with several different methods. 👍
/stripes/
Man's spent like 20 grand to record and edit a 100 dollar diy project 😂
You nailed it man! 😃👍
What exactly does that do, I'm just curious???
It basically just trains the grass to start laying down in a particular direction. That way as the light hits the lawn it gives the effect of /STRIPES/. 😉
ME: How hard is it to see where you've mowed.... * Sees his massive yard at the end Me: Ohhhhhh.. that's why
Now if only you can make them straight some how 🤔
Our yard is way too bumpy for me to get TOO OCD about how straight the stripes are. 3 months out of the year it's almost a swamp. So...even attempting to roll it in the spring to flatten it out is pointless. I just do what I can, with what I've got... 😃👍
The only problem with this video is the cub cadet 😩 but good little tool
I can appreciate that. 😉 ...and thanks! 😃👍
When you know it's time to STOP watching shorts. Holy cheese some old dude mowing his SOUL 😳
Hey! I resemble that remark! 😉 ...and in case you're curious, my SOUL mower runs on a 50/50 blend of Metamucil and Ensure! 😃
Lawnmowers and drone shots are hilarious.
It definitely had the neighbors scratching their heads! 🤔😁
Pretty intense music and editing for a damn lawnmower lol
I tried to add an element of excitement something very simple. ...ir worked?? 😁
how to say your blind without saying your blind.
Like I had mentioned in another comment... My Ultra High Definition vision is hovering somewhere around VHS with bad tracking these days! 😁
Omg I'm gonna make one!
Nice. I have 7 acres to mow. I have a bad boy maverick 60 inch. Would it work on there
Over the years I've purchased several retired commercial mowers for use on my own property. They've all had some sort of "striper" attached to them. This is the first mower I've ever bought brand new (and even IT was a demo 😊). While it DID leave stripes...they just weren't as crisp as I had become accustomed to from other mowers. After adding this home brewed version to the new mower I've gotten closer to how I like my stripes. Will it work for you? Maybe..? 😁 With 7 acres you might go through a couple of mats a season though! 😃
@@JasonSpencerPlank heck ya ok I will check it out and letcha know. Appreciate it
That mower doesnt need a kit.
@@tommyofthehillpeople I really like that mower
Best thing was the recover ramps. I use them as well. Especially for those wet gated areas so your not sinking and making ruts and the gate.
Right on man... We used to keep them in the barn. Which just added to the frustration of getting stuck. ...aaand if you carry them with you? Murphy's Law kicks in and you rarely get stuck! Funny how that works, ain't it? 😁
Man who knows his tools 👍
...just enough to be dangerous! ⚠️😁
Quality Dad joke right there.
Damn hope yall put some grass seeddown
Nope...just packed in sod where we could and letting mother nature do the rest. It's already filling in nicely. (Honestly there's really not much traffic through that area.)
Too cool
I have that exact same set of Dewalt sockets.
Solid
Dang was expecting to see you do a painting stripe attachment. Disappointed, but highly impressed with the actual turn out. Nice striping 👍
I love this video so much, I don't know why. You earned a sub lol
I love your comment...and I don't know why either! 😁😉
The music really brings this video all together. 🥴
It is missing a v 12 turbo and a jet engine facing downward to cut grass
I wonder if I could bolt that to the hitch bracket... 🤔🤭😉
So that's how it's done, cool
Waiting on the cross hatch pattern on the massive lawn.
That'll be "The Sequel"? (You know they're never as good as the original, right? 😁) "I love this Short, but you know what it's missin'? ...a sequel.. Let's do it to it!" ...or not. 🙃
I have a 1993 Simplicity Landlord lawn tractor with a 50 inch deck, it has full width rollers, gives a beautiful striped cut. Been using it 30 years, on its third engine, still going strong. Just don't build them to last any more.
I remember my dad loving his Simplicity mower. ...and you're quite right about not building them to last. "Planned Obsolescence" really changed the world of hand-me-downs!
