    Nice spot if you like crowded camp grounds. I no longer go to National Parks due to the bureaucracy and nanny state mindset. State forests are better but they are being taken over by NPWS. When I was a kid you could camp anywhere in the park so long as you got a permit. Now I find Crown Land where I can duck off teh road, set up camp and not be bothered. Nicely produced video. Liked and subbed.

    Great loadout. Gauze and leukotape could replace the bandaids and duct tape. Emergency bandage ( often called Israeli bandage) are great multipurpose, lightweight options for first aid kit. (stop the bleed/sprains and strains etc)

      Thank for checking it out and for taking the time to comment. I have been refining my first aid items and I have been taking gauze and leukotape out on the trail with me recently. @@travelwithmick I'm an Aussie, this video is something I think everyone of us should be taught in school. Until I did a snake awareness/basic snakebite first aid workshop, I thought the bandage was supposed to slow blood flow. **Blush**. It's important not to cut off circulation. The snakebite bandages with the squares, that I've tested are basically useless. ua-cam.com/video/Z_K3fDRdq7A/v-deo.htmlsi=H3Ac5LLkqw2NQ_Ba I highly recommend you practice wrapping with them, you will quickly find the correct pressure is probably not the squares.

    Hey Mick, Im absolutely just starting out & on the hunt for an entry level tent, any recommendations? Also, can I ask why you went with a 3p over 2p?

    • @travelwithmick
      @travelwithmick 9 місяців тому

      Great that you are getting into it. There are so many tents on the market and it really depends on your budget. The Marmot Tungsten Ultralight 2-Person Tent is a great option. I also have this tent. The reason I have the 3P is because I go hiking with my wife and we are both over 6ft tall so the extra space inside is great and means we can bring gear inside if we want. Only tricky thing with a 3P is that it is big so can sometimes be a challenge finding a big piece of flat ground to set up on. Hope that helps

    Thanks for this. Some great ideas, I'll be trying the Mayo, avocado and Mexican rice for burritos with Chipotle sauce and pork floss (dehydrated shredded pork in soy sauce from Asian stores). Being Asian I shop a lot in Asian stores where there's a lot of dehydrated items. Great for longer trips and keeping costs down. Plenty of options from Korean, Thai, Philippines, viets etc. The dried Mango are amazing for snacks and to include in your breakfast. For breakfast I usually have Vietnamese Coffee with condense milk in those toothpaste squeeze bottle and chia seed overnight oats with shredded coconut and fruit. Weight wise its spot on, as 3 tbsp chia makes up 3/4 cup which is plenty for me. These meals are always a highlight for our hikes. And while id love a beer I never feel comfortable drinking when I hike alone. Needing to be more alert.
