Phil, gold's value goes up and down over time, look up commodities exchanges and the fluctuating price of gold on them. If you want to store value, buy tons and tons of raw iron ore, you can store its value in a much more stable way and alongside that it has more industrial uses than direct gold. You can process it in many different ways aswell as sell it to companies that make products and process ore. Its foolproof.
