Every time I listen to the song, someone always seems to be peeling onions. Every time I watch the movie, someone seems to be onions. Take away the killings, and the fact that they’re rats, and look at the movie differently. It’s about a very sick young boy who has nothing and no one. He has no father. He has no friends. He has a mother who is always working. He has a sister who cares about him, but who has a life of her own. He’s a loner who develops a friendship and love with another lone who is cast out by society as a nuisance. You can feel the bond. You can feel the friendship. You can feel the love. You can feel the sadness when Danny thinks Ben is dead, and the absolute joy when he finds that Ben is alive.
